I like the last one. Looks functional.
I'm thinking about getting the 4th because it doesn't have the little clasps on the wrist, but the size looks off; unless the guy wearing it didn't get one in his size. I'm flipping between 3 and 4.
I think 3 looks the best but 4 looks the most comfortable.
I don't normally go for the designer labels but the first one does have inside pockets and those are really nice to have.
I need help deciding on themes of socks. Should I go for sexy or stylish?
Thigh-highs, Knee-highs, Footsie socks, or Stockings?
Troper PageDepends what you're wearing them with and what your legs are like.
Thigh/knee-length socks make excellent fuck me socks; make sure they're striped.
I'm wearing them with a shorter skirt most of the time. My legs are skinny, they aren't hairy or anything, but they lack muscle tone. So like generic skimpy legs.
I guess that's a plus. That helps add on what I'm trying to accomplish with them anyway!
Troper PageThigh-high/stockings, then, I'd say. Knee-highs work, too, as long as your legs are long enough that they don't look stumpy for being cut in half.
@Vorpy: Nice legs.
Bah, I prefer solid dark colors for added illusion of length. Not because my legs are stumpy but because I'm so short.
Short people, lol.
I've been asking people to get me toe socks since i was 15; no joy.
Yes, striped works best on longer, slenderer legs. Solid colors or vertical patterns are better if you're shorter, or your legs are thicker.
A brighter future for a darker age.@Morven: Leradny should wear navy or charcoal pinstripes... as stockings.
@Vorpy: Thigh-high, then. Don't go around exposing skin in winter.
@Kino: None of the above. Find an unissued Navy surplus pea coat.
“Love is the eternal law whereby the universe was created and is ruled.” — St. BernardShoot, even an old navy-issue peacoat is comfy. Plus it stys warm even when it gets drenched. Collar is a bit itchy, though.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.@Rott: I'm NC; not exactly a Navy town. Then again, I do have a friend in VA....
@Rott: I approve of the pinstripes idea.
A brighter future for a darker age.Charcoal pinstripe tights sound awesome. For just about anyone I can imagine.
I'm going to go on a little bit of a rant here... I've been looking for a nice simple flattering dress everywhere and absolutely failing miserably. The womens dresses are too large (especially in the shoulders - yes, even the petites don't fit quite right) and the girls dresses are, well, cut and styled for pubescent/prepubescent girls. Sigh. I can get some of them to fit in the right size but they look absolutely silly. I guess I'm sticking with shirt/skirt combos when I want to dress up for the foreseeable future.

She of Short Stature & Impeccable Logic My Skating LiveblogPetites are too large for you? Have you tried a cheongsam, or do you not want something ethnic?
“Love is the eternal law whereby the universe was created and is ruled.” — St. BernardI'm 4'4", so yeah, even petite proportions are sometimes not enough. Especially in dresses for some reason. I haven't tried a cheongsam (had to google what that was...), and I'm not sure where I'd find one unless I went to my city's Chinatown, and I don't usually go into the city much. Are you referring to custom-made? Anyway, what I really want is something simple, maybe an A-line princess seam to the knee with a v-neck or low scoop neck that almost but doesn't quite show cleavage, with a color like teal or green or charcoal.
That's, ah... pretty specific. Maybe it's no wonder I didn't find what I was looking for. But really I'd just like something that left me looking like a young adult instead of a kid.

She of Short Stature & Impeccable Logic My Skating LiveblogThe simpler of a dress you want, the harder it will be to find and the more expensive they will be when you find them.
and if you haven't tried making clothes but feel inclined towards needlework you might try sewing your own from a pattern

Well, you may be right. I'll just continue to keep my eyes open for stuff that might work.
She of Short Stature & Impeccable Logic My Skating LiveblogVorpy, please, please, do for thigh-highs. Slim legs are really awesome for thigh-highs. I ordered these socks in black and I can't praise them enough. Super long, very, very warm, too, they stay up and they look cute when scrunched up or cuffed. The website also has all sorts of patterned and stripey socks in all kinda of colours. I would max out my credit card here if I could :3
Because of the sock obsession, I'm always on the lookout for more skirts. But for the life of me, I can't find a simple, black, knife-pleat skirt anywhere in a store or online. They're always fancy shmancy with pockets or chains or buttons or the pleats are irregular or something. I'm making one soon, but it's still not the pattern I want. The only one I was able to find has three big pleats and I'm too scared to attempt it without a pattern. X(
But on a happier, unrelated note, I am getting one of these under the Christmas tree. Because you can never look ridiculous enough when it comes to winter accessories!

Short version: We needed a thread like this; besides, I might as well put those issues of GQ to good use.
Anyway....it's getting cold down here so I figured I'd buy a new coat; i've narrowed it down to 4:
