I mean, I think it would be better than Naptime. Peach Beam from Paper Mario could work too, and that's from a Mario RPG that can be referenced fully instead of vague passing references because a 3rd party keeps sitting on the assests of the game and doing nothing with it for decades.

The Mario/Peach/Bowser triple tech is her physical one. Her other two are support/defensive. I mean, you could say Mario and Bowser joining Peach in a final Smash against opponents Mario and Bowser would break suspension of belief and be unrealistic, but you can Chrom Chrom with Chrom against Chrom.

Just for Fun... I figured I'd try my hand at some Palutena's Guidance conversations for characters I want to see in Smash.

I just woke up from a dream in which I was playing the next Smash game on the Switch's successor. The graphics were far more photorealistic and the gameplay was full-on 3D like Power Stone. There was also an extensive training/mission mode with a bunch of platforming stages designed to teach players how to play the game that I played throughout the dream (which actually makes sense, given that Sakurai has lamented on this very issue on his channel.)

While characters like Mario, Bowser, and Yoshi were in it, one of the newcomers was Rinzler, of all characters. Yes, not even the actual iconic version of Tron, but Rinzler. According to Sakurai, he felt that having just Sora in the previous game wasn't proper Kingdom Hearts representation, so he decided to add both a Disney character and a Final Fantasy character from Kingdom Hearts in this game. Except for some reason, the Final Fantasy character he picked was Kuja, despite him never appearing in KH, at least as far as I know. Also, Kuja fought using Vexen's shield, oddly enough. Oh, and the game had an epic remix of 13th Struggle in it.

Perhaps even stranger than all of that, Vision was also playable. I was playing through one of the platforming levels with him when I encounter what looked like a female Ultron Drone trying to masquerade as a human, or something (if this is a real Marvel character, I don't know who it is). The game goes into a cutscene where Vision just walks up to her, grabs the skin graft on the side of her neck and pulls, tearing the skin but not completely, leaving it dangling by her neck. Then Vision says, "Well, I guess that's why this Smash game is rated T this time."

I think that's when I woke up.

Speaking of dreams, a year before "Ultimate" was announced, I dreamed that Inkling and a Moblin (from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild) were made playable, and that Moblin's Final Smash involved him pulling out a horn and using it to summon a swarm of Bokoblins to overwhelm the other players. (Keep in mind I can't lucid-dream so don't question why he does what Bokoblins do in that game)

Man, this game has been out for how long, and I just realise that Zelda had wearied boots. They have high heals and open toes. How does she fight in those?

Probably similar as to how Naruto characters fight in similar types of footwear.

Probably because for the most part, the people getting in usually don't need explanations, such as the likes of Mario and Pikachu.

I think for me, if we only got big name characters, the roster risks being boring as part of Smash’s appeal is learning who, say, Ness is and thus getting more people interested in games like Earthbound, F-Zero, Star Fox, Golden Sun, or Kid Icarus.

People were almost vindictive levels of pushing why not only certain characters won't get in, but shouldn't. Mostly it stemmed from them just hating the character or wanting to spite the fanbase or both.

People coming up with any excuse why certain characters can't get in might be justified to some degree considering how ignorant some people can be requesting Goku and Shrek despite the rule Smash is for video game characters as there's too many franchises to consider along with how vulgar some adult games can be.

Also the whole ignorance during the Grinch hoax. That whole Sakurai buying a Round Vernian having people jump to conclusions about it being related to Mach Rider, the whole website bug, the sprout icon apparently being copyrighted by Golden Sun... It made me absolutely cynical to hopefuls.

In defense of Isaac, the sprout icon coming out with the Hoax and then right after that the official site having a glitch on the banner right where Isaac was placed on the Hoax banner. That timing was insane as if the universe was also in on it.

Supposedly the biggest yell that the whole thing was a fake was Gameexplain not giving it the time of day, and this is the same group that would make an instant video on a rumor of a rumor of a rumor that implies something about Switch 2.

Did Game Xplain have insider info telling them it was fake? That's the only way I can explain their reaction.

I find it funny because the sprout icon was already in the website but no one seem to care about the Items page. It basically became Smash's icon for healing.

That was the theory. Everyone was going bonkers over the Hoax except them which raised some eyebrows. Then when they did acknowledge it, it was like a 30 second comment of "It's fake, lol" and left it at that, which ironically only made people think was legit even more. The claim was that Nintendo was telling them to bury it and Gameexplain was acting unusually antagonistic during the whole thing. Then they presented their proof was that they found the source of the Banjo image, except no one could ever find the source image (and ironically their main evidence it was fake was for the character that actually did make it in).

Okay, I actually understand why we say “Goku won’t get in” because there is a hard rule about that.

I’m more talking about like suggesting a character that isn’t one of the constantly regurgitated characters.

Also, can I say I genuinely hate the leaks and hoaxes? I feel like they have ruined speculation.

The speculation cycle for Ultimate kind of turned me against discussing character speculation with people, too, especially because of the rampant gate-keeping and "fanrules" and people seeming more interested in finding reasons why a given character that someone wanted couldn't be in Smash or why only this character could represent this aspect of the game and not that one. It just seemed to get super toxic after a certain point, and I feel like it spread to other Platform Fighters like Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl and MultiVersus to an extent.

In particular, the toxicity ended up playing a factor in why Decidueye is one of my least favorite third-stage starter Pokémon (and it almost ruined Rillaboom for me as well), because heaven forbid Gen 7 or Gen 8 have a representation that isn't the third-stage Grass-type starter, right? I get wanting to complete the Grass-Water-Fire trifecta and in all honesty wouldn't object to it happening eventually (I think Meowscarada could actually be a fun, and importantly new and different, character), but seriously.

I also stopped trusting "leaks" after the Grinch leak myself and I treat any other alleged leaks (whether they relate to Smash or to other games like NASB or MVS) with a good deal of caution.

The discourse surrounding who can and can't be in has convinced a decent amount of people that call themselves Smash fans don't actually play the games, they just like to gatekeep so they can have a high horse to ride on.

At times with Ultimate, it felt like some people found the speculation to be more important than the game itself. Speculation WAS the game for them.

How likely is it we will get The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Link for a Smash 6?

Depends on whether or not we get another Zelda game before then.

(In addition, I think some people just have a disdain for smaller franchises getting any attention. I remember some people straight up being jerks to me for simply wanting Nintendo to make a new game in an old, forgotten franchise.)
