Guilt or hate by association is a thing, though. Although, Orin and Okuu are powerful enough that they're probably not given too much shit.
"Hay, I heard you associate with that creepy mind-reader, ya freak."
"Hay, I heard that you'll leave a nice corpse, buddy."
I meant do the underground youkai also hate Satori's pets.
Edit: , Nevermind XD

That awkward moment where Kyoro is one of Satan's Generals. The main reason people fear the Satori is because they are afraid to reveal their secrets. You'd think a straightforward Oni who doesn't lie wouldn't be fazed by that.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! You'd think so. Maybe the oni are lying about the not lying thing
Yuugi once told me that all oni are liars.
oh god my brain
WHO IS THIS LOSERThe real question is, why does Satori feel the need to say aloud others' thoughts, when it's quite clear it makes them not like her (a quick mind-read could reveal that)? One would think it wouldn't be too hard to at least pretend you're not reading minds and act somewhat normally... That said, it probably wouldn't matter to those aware of the satori species, since they know their minds are being read even if they were to pretend otherwise.
Perhaps, though, a long time ago, Satori did try to pretend she couldn't read minds, and in the process made friends with various beings who did not know about the satori species. However, one time, she messed up, and it got revealed that she could read minds, which immediately made all her "friends" turn on her.
After sleeping with this trauma that wakes her up at night, any time she meets someone new, she purposely speaks their mind in order to push them away, as she felt it would be better to be hated from the start than to be betrayed as before. Her only companions are her pets, who (as animals) enjoy the company of a being that understands what they want, and her sister Koishi, whose mind she can't read (although there are all sorts of other things complicating their relationship...).
Maybe, just maybe, she's waiting for that one being, human or youkai, who accepts her mind-reading ability and all.
Maybe.
See, not telling people's thoughts and finishing their sentences is something that Koishi would do, she who couldn't stand being hated/feared.
Satori can cope with it. She probably does it specifically to remind people that she's the girl that even evil spirits fear. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure and she's going to be reminding people not to fuck around with her. The stuff she's saying out loud is just surface thoughts. It'd be... a shame if you were to sass at her and she'd have to reveal your oedipal urges or something equally black-mailable.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOr, you know, danmaku.
If Satori really wanted to be mean, she could have recollected Boundary of Life and Death or Peerless Wind God against Reimu...
Its funny because after the fight she realizes there were better spellcards she could have stolen from playable character's mind and sort of gets slightly aggrieved about it.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersShe sure learned her lesson next time she ran into Aya. About the only thing that hindered her there was that Aya's was only a vague recollection in the first place...
Given her DS spellcards, the copying is her way of being nice. Everything else she does is so much worse
That or her way of cutting corners. Creating and optimizing bunch of unique spellcards for your own use must be hard.

Satori seems to be the main topic now
That awkward moment where Kyoro is one of Satan's Generals. So was Sanae for a while. I think we should start voting for a new character/setting.
^^Something that should be rectified posthaste. Luckily, I have just the thing
Underground Silken Para-Medic
Yamame woke up. It was about 5 o'clock in the morning, though Yamame didn't know that. In a world with no sun, time is rarely kept. She quickly dressed and went to the entrance of her cave. The cave opened up into a small vertical tunnel. One end went downwards, directly to the abandoned city, and the other went upwards, one of the many paths to the bridge that Parsee kept. Yamame climbed up the tunnel to another cave. There, Kisume slept soundly in her bucket. Yamame grabbed the bucket, delicately, not waking up Kisume, and began to slide down the tunnel.
Yamame stopped as the tunnel ended. It opened up into the Former Capital of the Underground. Black-roofed houses and businesses stood on terraces cut into the sides of the tunnel. From far above, the city looked like rows and rows of black teeth surrounding a cavernous maw. All around the cavern, dozens of tunnels and passages snaked into the city. All tunnels into the underground led to the Former Capital, eventually. It used to be the crossroads before the fires died down, along with the city. Perhaps, now that the furnace at the bottom of the underground was nuclear-powered, the city would become the bustling town that it used to be. A yawn snapped Yamame from her reverie.
"You let me sleep in" said Kisume, smiling as she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. Yamame smiled back as she floated down into the depths of the city.
"Hey, my bodyguard has to be awake and alert if she's going to protect me" said Yamame, letting go of the bucket. Kisume giggled softly as she took control of her fall. Yamame always insisted on calling Kisume her bodyguard when she went on her, as she called them, "borderless doctor visits". Of course, Kisume tried her best to fend off mischevious fairies and weaker youkai. But, she'd be crushed by any of the oni in the Former Capital, or by any of the stronger youkai in the inhabited cities.
"So, where are we going today, Yama Yamame?"
"One of the satori's pets came down with something. Probably got it from one of those corpses she's always carting around." She sighed as Kisume recoiled in disgust. "Relax, Kiki. I keep telling you, she's not that bad. She can't be worse than that surface girl who talks to herself." Kisume looked up at the maze of tunnel entrances in the ceiling.
"Yama, what's it like up there?" Yamame looked up, quizzically.
"I wish I knew. I never went up there before it was banned. I didn't even cross Paru's bridge before the girl came. Always though the sun would be too bright." She shrugged as she landed in front of a cave entrance. "Nevermind it. We're already here. C'mon, bodyguard, let's get to work!"
I had an idea about what the Underworld should look like, and what better way to portray it than through the eyes of everyone's favorite Spider Youkai.
For the record, this write-up is for Yamame and the Underground.

you'll then have a grave in the clouds where you won't lie too crampedYamame as a medic? That's a rather interesting take on her disease powers.
She'll manipulation the diseases right out of you.
Forever liveblogging the Avengersmakes sense. I mean, Utsuho's power is manipulation of nuclear fusion, and she can obviously do fission as well (explain that whole CAUTION stuff otherwise)
Watching someone play Double Spoiler makes ZUN lol.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersHoly hell, it must suck to have ZUN himself mocking your skills. On video, even.
I'm not so sure that he was mocking them... If I had made a devilishly hard game and was watching people play and fail at it for the first time in their lives, I would be laughing, too. But not maliciously so.
... That said, wrong thread.
I'm having a hard time motivating myself since I came down with the con flu, but I'll try to get a write-up done today.
Oh yeah. Yarrunmace, your write-up was very cute!

Maybe you should go outside and get some con air.
I think Satori is more feared than hated. They shouldn't have much problem with her pets. Not like they develop mind-reading from being near her
