Suwako is a friendly little goddess, ain't she?
I didn't notice the Sanae thing.
I was doing a write up, but I got in a rut, which is why I haven't been as active in the talking. I hope to be done with that soon enough.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Sanae vs Suwako is certainly one of the more dramatic and awesome battles in the series. In fact, I think the only battle that comes close to touching its awesomeness is Shinki at the end of Mystic Square.
Song of the SirensAnd now I know that Suwakopter is the final form.
And that's.... pretty cool.
I have no horse, and I must ride. I accomplish unlockments. You know, there's something I realized yesterday, regarding why Sanae has the slightest chance in the aerial fight versus Suwako in the video above, considering it's a last spell and all (aside from the obvious "Suwako isn't taking this nearly as seriously as she is" bit). Also why Suwako isn't great at flying and flaps constantly.
She's an earth goddess. In other words, anything sky/air-related is pretty much the exact opposite of what she stands for. Kanako governing all that can't help a great deal either. And as for the air-battle, Sanae has powers over wind. Probably helps.
Basically, Suwako has ridiculous flight and is generally weaker in the air because she's quite literally not in her element.
But it helps that she can shoot rock geysers 100 ft into the air
"Seriously, don't eat the mermaid. And not just because it's half cannibalism." ~OtherarrowWell, yes. I imagine that helps with many things.
In that case, would the reactor venting itself be a bit of luck for Sanae? Because if the fight had stayed underground, it might've gone really badly for her.
Song of the SirensMight have been, yeah. Though again, the time limit thing kinda makes it a mixed blessing at best.
It's also a good thing for Suwako, but only because she finds it entertaining.
Of course the whole 'hurtling towards the ground thing' becomes a lot less dramatic when you realise they can both fly.
Song of the Sirens"So for this last part of our duel, we will be flung through the air. If you don't beat me fast enough, you'll hit ground and die."
"Lady Suwako we can both fly. One of us better than the other..."
"Yes but just think how dramatic it will look to our audience."
"What?"

Forever liveblogging the AvengersBocaj, how do you do line breaks like that? I have to put double spaces between my lines, and it looks clunky.
Song of the SirensTwo these things at the end of a line
It makes it not all run together.
Back slash? Is that what its called? Its not posting right though.\\

Forever liveblogging the AvengersYes? That is, if you intended to post "like backslash backslash this?"
Forever liveblogging the AvengersMeanwhile I've done a writeup for a character we're already finished with and why did I even do that.
I need help.

Au contraire, cherie. That's what the refresher periods are for. Perhaps we should do another one after Suwako.
Song of the Sirens...What, exactly, is "cherie"?
Am I a small red thing now.

No, that's cherry. 'Cherie' is a French term of endearment. It means 'dear'.
But as far a French endearments go, you have to go a long way to beat 'mon petit chou-fleur'.

Song of the SirensOh, so it was just a really strange way to refer to me. Okay!
It's also been about 300 pages since the last one.
Song of the SirensIn my defense, my little mini dialogue was so awesome that Asterism just had to ask how I had accomplished such a thing. But his flabber was so ghast that he could only question the very format.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAs expected from a man with a Kogasa avatar.
Are you implying that for a brief second I lost my elegance and poise? How dare you.
Song of the Sirens
Come on, Faw, concentrate!
Kinda ironic that Suwako "creates" kon, which is apparently the least "creative" of the elements represented. It's the most "receptive"... whatever that may mean. Well, apparently one of the traits associated with it is "yielding", and that fits quite nicely into the backstory, doesn't it? She gave way when Kanako came, after all.
The "mother" bit makes sense, and it's always nice to see recurring elements in various world cultures, like the concept of "Mother Earth". And yeah, I love the family implications, too. Would that make Sanae 巽, the gentle? Hey, what do you know, apparently that's the element of wind. It's also "penetrating" and "thigh" and "gentle entrance" and I'm not sure what to take from this but a "gentle entrance" is definitely less cool than a "dynamic entry".
Gee, you could make an entirey story out of this stuff.
"My word!"
Now, I recently watched Suwako's battle in MoF again, and I noticed something amazing.
Reimu was super-friendly towards her. Or rather, Suwako is super-friendly towards Reimu.
Reimu: A danmaku festival? I wonder if anyone would really come...
Suwako: Of course they will! Let's figure out when it should be; it would be nice to have an annual grand festival!
Reimu: I suppose... I know a little more about the secrets of this shrine now, so I'm going home for today, okay?
Suwako: If you don't get more visitors, or if Kanako does anything strange... Come see me about it, okay?
And now I just checked, and Marisa is, too!
Suwako:Oh, scary. If that's the case, we'd better start planning a big feast right away. I'll get 44 reeds for rice gruel right away.
Marisa: A party with rice gruel... the outside world's drinking traditions are pure chaos.
Oh, and Suwako is totally on a playful hatred level with Kanako, too.
Cute.
I mean, by Touhou banter standards, these people are practically BFFs already! Is that the charisma of a native god...?
But seriously, though, she seems very sociable. It's strange that she doesn't appear more often in... all sorts of places!
Aaaand a shiny battle.
But despite everything, this discussion seems to be drawing to a halt. Is this just a temporary rut? Well, I definitely still have something to write about Suwackers.
