Hehe, Magus Night was composed because ZUN tried to do an arrange of Dance of the Witches but forgot what it sounded like...
Actually, Word of ZUN is that Lily White/Black are the same person, but apparently, they are shown separate in Silent Sinner? Off topic!
Anyway, Daiyousei. The way her wings are, I am still saying steel. Because why not? We can have fairies of all the other elements (I think. Hypothetically?).
I wonder if Daiyousei leaves the lake much. Does she in Fairy Wars? I like to think she follows around Cirno if she knows that Cirno is going out on some adventure.

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.That side-ponytail is basically a case of fanon becoming canon. (She lacks it in Fairy Wars due to the sprite being based on her EoSD sprite.)
And on the whole Touhou characters as FF summons thing.
The lightning summon (pick one, there's multiple) would have to be Iku (or Seiga, but Iku actually uses lightning)
Leviathan = Nitori, Minamitsu or possibly even Suwako.
Ifrit would be Yuki. Only because Mokou is the obvious choice for Phoenix.
Titan would be Yuugi for her strength or Tenshi for having caused earthquakes in canon.
The gravity summon (Atomos or Diablos, take your pick) would be Suika because densityhax makes it possible.
Aya would be the wind summon (Which is actually pretty rare. Only ones I recall offhand are Syldra and Pandemona. And even then you wouldn't think Syldra is wind.)
Shiva would either be Letty (for being more well known ) or Mai (If Yuki's the equivalent to Ifrit, it makes sense for the other one of the 2 to replace Shiva)
Both Remilia and Flandre serve as Odin. (Remilia has the spear, which has never been the one hit kill attack. Flandre is summoned for the one hit kill.)
Utsuho is DEFINITELY Bahamut - The comparisons were noted by the first person other than ZUN to see Mega Flare, probably.
Any others? (Note I do not know all the summons, having not played all the games. This is relevant to Touhou, of course.)

She shows up at the Shrine in SABND while presumably looking for Cirno who showed up in the Forest of Magic while hiding and seeking, but mostly hiding. And some of the paths she can show up in Fairy Wars are not at the lake.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAbout Daiyousei's hair: She wears a ribbon in her sprites, but it's hard to tell if she has a ponytail or not.

Heart of StoneShe is carrying some flowers now, as fairies are wont to do.◊ Is she a flower fairy?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAlexander would be either Shikieiki (for obvious reasons) or Marisa (Alexander's attack usually takes the form of some sort of laser. Marisa is also an incident resolver... Though if you want actual holy stuff, Reimu or Sanae would also be suitable.)
I believe she was doing as such back in EoSD

I don't believe she is carrying flowers in ESOD, and I've done extensive research on greater fairies strictly for the purpose of this discussion.

I'm not even going to bother responding to the sarcasm.
So, any more ideas for FF summons represented by Touhou characters?
Also, think of the ultimate summons, and which Touhou character would best represent them.

She, in fact, did not have a flower in EoSD
Also, no

"Seriously, don't eat the mermaid. And not just because it's half cannibalism." ~OtherarrowThe reason why Daiyousei attacks Cirno in Fairy Wars is because she was going to ask her out on a date, hence the flowers, but got agitated when she saw Cirno was making war, not love.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAnd then Lily White saw her looking all dejected and rejected and made her wilting flowers bloom again.
Only to have Cirno interrupt their date on her hunt for the wily Marisa.
And then I stopped writing bad romance* .
Heart of StoneYes. Please.
Discuss that in the other Touhou thread, please. It's getting too far removed from the subject to be at all relevant.

I am kind of amused by how Daiyousei refuses to say "hell". Also a nice detail that Yuuka called Cirno's lake a "water lake". It threw me off for a moment, until I realized that she lives in a blood lake. Your Yuuka is unusually agile, by the way. She's usually portrayed as exceedingly slow.
“And I am still depressed.”
Hmm. Well, the image of Cirno running on a frozen dissipating Master Spark is pretty badass. Why did Elly push Yuuka out of the way, though? Doesn't seem that dangerous to her. If at all.
PS: More than that, asterism, I want you to stop posting mere seconds before I do.
Editing posts is awesome.

Drawing off of my earlier interpretation of Cirno as kind of a loner, I think Daiyousei is her closest social link. Admittedly, there's no evidence for such a thing besides her and Cirno being in the same stage. However, I think it's still likely. Daiyousei, while weaker than Cirno, is close to her theoretical power level. She's powerful enough and intelligent enough to create a non-spellcard attack and withstand Reimu's/Marisa's needles/lasers/what have you for a good 10 or 15 seconds.
I think she's what Cirno would be if Cirno wasn't obsessed with her power level: a normal, if unusually capable, fairy. Therefore, she's the most similar fairy to Cirno, which makes friendship more likely.
Hey, Tardis actually gets this reference.

Heart of StoneI have played a number of the FF games, you know.
Hell, one of the very first references in LoT is to FF 5!
You must be so proud of yourself
"Seriously, don't eat the mermaid. And not just because it's half cannibalism." ~OtherarrowDon't act so surprised that there's some in that game that I do get. We all know there's an absolutely insane number of them.
Sooo, Cirno and Daiyousei, huh?
Isn't it odd how some no dialogue midbosses get more stuff then others? Compare Daiyousei and Koakuma to Lily White, Momiji, Tojiko and ESPECIALLY Tewi.
Heart of Stone... I'm not sure what you're looking at, asterism. Momiji is ridiculously popular. Tewi practically doesn't count as a midboss anymore, playing a prominent role in more than one manga series and being a big shot in general. Needless to say, she's popular. And Tojiko has been around for like a minute at this point, so that's not a fair comparison at all.
That said, it has a lot to do with the character a midboss is paired with. Cirno and Patches are very popular, so their companions get a lot of time in the spotlight with them.

Huh? I counted Momiji amongst the no-dialogue midbosses that have backstory and spellcards.
She may be ridiculously popular, but she still doesn't speak in any of the games. I counted Tojiko because she has a backstory (Buddhist-hating ex-Buddhist Tao ghost) and spellcards.

Heart of StoneAnd unlike Tewi, Momiji hasn't gotten much fleshing out. A cameo or two. Spellcard descriptions in DS.
Well, its more than Daiyousei got.

Forever liveblogging the Avengers
Daiyousei & Lily White* are the stage midbosses. They can either be the Stage 1 or 2 midbosses, the Stage 3 midboss is a Fairy of Light.
The EX midboss is both of them at the same time. And damn, Ruse Rain is an epic theme. AND it's immediately followed by Magus Night.
