Oh, I'm sure he'd appreciate any kind of kryptonite gift because he's a super-nice guy and it's the thought that counts and all that. It would just also hurt him.

No, no. Blue Kryptonite only hurts bizzaros. Its a weird thing. There was a rainbow of kryptonite in the various Superman medias. There was also pink kryptonite which made Superman act flamboyant.

Makes you wonder about Krypton.

[up] Krypton is exactly like Earth I guess.

Speaking of DC. Cirno as a potential Green Lantern, discuss.

Doesn't matter she has the Willpower to be one in my opinion.

Although I can imagine she'll have trouble reciting the oath. Then making a new one where she talks about how strong she is.

Black Lanterns are death. So I'd say Yuyuko, or Yuyuko can be Black Hand and the Saigyou Ayakashi can be Nekron. I guess.

Now to think of what characters fit the other colors of the emotional spectrum.

Cirno as a lantern needs enemies right? So all I did is point out other Touhou that can be alternated as lantern ring bearers too. Since the rings are Rainbow-colored I just thought we can play with that...

I never wanted to explain this because, for me, three sentences is long....

That's probably a project for the main Touhou thread, though.

Do you think that Cirno grew to the size she is now, or was she always gargantuan by fairy standards?

[up] According to Akyuu, fairies come in all sizes, from "Older human child" to "The size of an adult's thumb."

So, did Cirno grow?

I don't think so. From what I can tell, fairies just sorta... *POP* into existence more or less fully formed. They don't seem to grow with age.

I sure said that!

Well, she has been getting stronger. Maybe she used to be a smaller fairy, just another nature fairy for a lake with Daiyousei being the Greater Fairy of the Lake but then Cirno got big and she got strongest.

[up]Or maybe Cirno's size is standard fairy size? I can imagine Daiyousei being taller.

But aren't the 3MF a bit smaller? And the enemies you mow down are smaller yet!

In OSP, the Three Fairies appear to be approximately the same height as Cirno. Can say anything about Daiyousei because she never appears next to or near them as far as I can recall.

Well, going by the EoSD sprites, Dai and Cirno are around the same size, Daiyousei being maybe a little smaller.

Then again, the in-game sprites also suggest that Ichirin is sixteen feet tall.

ATTACK OF THE ELEVEN FOOT NUN! TREMBLE IN TERROR AS SHE RECITES SUTRAS IN CLEAR DEFIANCE OF CHRISTIAN VALUES! WATCH IN ASTONISHMENT AS SHE STICKS TO A VEGETARIAN DIET! THRILL AS SHE GETS BEATEN UP BY A SHINTO SHRINE MAIDEN! COMING SOON TO A THEATER NEAR YOU!

Better not let Cirno know. She'll try to beat Ichirin up. And might even manage it. Clouds consist mainly of water vapor.

So, Cirno Cirno Cirno. What does it say about her that she decided it was necessary to beat up a Daidarabocchi?

From her Guignol Quest profile:

The small fairy was as agitated as usual. Because today, she had seen something bigger than the mountain.

So Cirno's default state is one of excitement or agitation.

Of course, in reality, it was much smaller than the mountain, but from her impression, there wasn't that big of a difference. It was soon hidden in mist and disappeared from sight, but she was certain. It was definitely the great youkai "Daidarabocchi".

She didn't know where it normally lived, but a moment after she became excited by seeing a rare youkai, the shrine maiden descended from the Youkai Mountain.

"Have you seen any giant robo... anything big moving around here?"

Asking that, the shrine maiden started searching in the mist.

The small fairy found itself driven on by an odd irritation, thinking that she saw it first, so it was her thing.

She has dibs on it, Sanae. Go find your own giant.

"I didn't see any Daidarabocchi." Saying that, she diverted the shrine maiden.

Cirno: Master of Deception.

From nothing more than simple curiosity, she decided to search for the great youkai here.

That's how trouble starts in Gensokyo.

Cirno's story in GQ:

That thing just now...
It had to be that legendary giant youkai Daidarabotchi!
If I can tame it, I'm not gonna be scared of anything ever again!

So, she just doesn't want to beat it up, she wants to tame it? I am now imagining Cirno wearing a cowboy hat and riding the Diadarabotchi.

Also, I like her reasoning. "If I do this thing, everything else is going to seem like a walk in the park. I WILL FEAR NOTHING NO MORE."

Its also interesting to note that just like Marisa did in Fairy Wars; Sanae, Meiling, and Marisa underestimated her and got some pain for their troubles.

Cirno's not a superpowered heavyweight, but not one to be underestimated, for she is incredibly determined about whatever her motivation is today.
