Eh, that makes little sense. They run on energy, why would they waste it in excessively aggressive uses of it when they can just add extra armor and throw rocks?
It's out.
Gotta say, the new soundtrack's top notch as usual.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Has anyone here seen specific information on how the whole robots rising to overthrow your race and then replacing them even works?
I'm thinking of starting a new game with the expansion and running a materialists run amok scenario where I start with a biological race, run it their empire to the ground and stand on the necks of the synths until they rise up and then side with the synths, but I'd want to have the vaguest of ideas how it works before I go for it so I know its at least tenable.
I have so many ideas for interesting starts already that I feel I have to be picky when choosing what to go with, as each game is weeks long commitment for me.

That is one Bad Ass launch trailer. I just finished downloading it a little bit ago, and will play in a few days when I finish doing some stuff for my Deviant Art fans.
Never played Iron-man before, but I have decided to take my new machine Empire and go for the "Retirement Home" achievement, any one got some advice?
Be extra careful about wars. You don't get to do over more than 6 months, tops. And that takes control alt delete games to do, if that even works.
Welp, once again all of my custom factions are gone XD Oh well, I'll just remake them.
.... How am I suposed to kill the unbidden.
200k fleet siting on there portal, not even the resident FE's can deal with that.
The unbidden have a weakness. They're all energy. Shields, energy weapons, the works. So get long range kinetic weaponry, energy torpedoes, and/or strikecraft, and you can weaken those 200000 Fleet Powers before they ever get into firing range. Might not win, but you'll make a better showing of yourself there than you would against other factions that shake things up.
Wasn't one of changelog's updates that Unbidden and Prethoryn aren't as vulnerable to their main weakness?
Probably, I didn't really read the changelog other than that humor one.
They did, but those weaknesses still exist so exploiting them is still worth it.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnHuh, was checking through text files if they added new stuff, I think this might be new?:
So Prethoryn queen has event "Hole in the Void" that hints that whatever hunters are, they either are capable of making out all stars in galaxy simultaneously go out or so massive in size they block the light traveling from galaxy to another
Soooo I sucide bombed my 80k fleet into the unbidden after retrofitting the whole thing with kenetics.
One ship survived but I nailed there portal, and then was immediately evicted by the empire who they spawned in, 79k fleet power lost for nothing. :/
Please tell me that the AI salvaged shit, and that I can get the unbidden tech when I go after those fucks next..... or do I have to save edit the unbidden tech in at this point..... I was trying to avoid that but that was literaly my entire naval capacity, I would at least like something other then the galaxy not dieing.....
If it's that I am going to edit, can some one remind me what techs the disasters give that you can't roll please? I may choose a non unbidden one since I am honestly not a fan of energy weapons, but I do want to stick to one disaster group....
Oh by the way, was that a feature to be able to face the 3 engame crisis in a single game, or was that a side effect of a mod I installed ? (likely doomsday weapons, but I don't remember this being stated in the mod). Cuz I was VERY happy to see the prethoryn and the unbidden spawn at the same time in the galaxy.
We were all screwed up and I had to adjust their difficulty through Doomsday's difficulty adjustment and console'd my way through the crisi, but I was looking forward to a situation like this, so I'm okay with it.
The ai consciousness spawned like 30 years after that with a pathetic fire power and got steamrolled right of the bat, but that was hilarious. would be funny to try agian with the revamped crisis.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."There should be one that pops up in a game, but there is a mod to allow multiple crises.
So, playing a game of Rogue Servitors, and I'm finding them stronger than they look when used for a "tall rush," but I think that later on bio-trophies are a far bigger PITA than they're worth, and are simply not worth as much, once you start conquering, as being able to grid-amalgamate your captives. OTOH, Determined Exterminators might well be an amazingly powerful war machine...must try soon.
I wonder how many "Determined Exterminators" are just going to be called "The Reapers" XD
I mean, I'm likely going to be one of them, but eh XD

I am not going that route. When I'm done dicking around with a bio race that uses robots, I'll probably go Assimilators and call them the Borg.
I mean, they are openly aping Skynet....
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.I've got the Iribot Integrators, and now I want to figure out if there's a way to get the cyborg species to expand too. I set them up to be smart and thrifty, so I want to settle them on every research and power tile I can.
ETA: Nevermind, answered my own question. Population controls are strictly on, no choice otherwise.

Robot Empires are nice, but one annoying thing about them is just how SLOW they grow.
Well you build the pops yourself.
Meanwhile, I'm waiting on being able to play with Animated Synthetic Portraits Extended because Paradox made portrait-related mods kind of weird with how they set up traits.
Then yes, it seems like they are similar to the Unbidden.
