The old was was probably lost in a purge most likely since it's too well liked around here to not have a thread.
However, it's awesome it's getting a DVD.

http://s1.zetaboards.com/Conceptual_Evolution/ http://sagan4.com/forum/index.phpWell fuck. Now with knowledge of furries and certain other people liking SWAT Kats I have to push it into the pile of shows I used to like but don't anymore for distaste of association.
SWAT Kats is getting a DVD? Great! I really used to love this show.
No you misunderstand. It falls into the shows I now must dislike due to association pile. Buying it associates me with people I dislike so I won't do that.
I know what you meant.
I've got two guns pointed west and a broken compass.I think that's a very sad approach, being guided around by people you don't even like.
Now here is a cartoon I'd welcome a reboot.
Bumpity bump bump!
Currently watching "Wrath of the Dark Kat" on Boomerang.
For being an almost unthinkably generic villain, Dark Kat is still pretty cool.
Agreed, SWAT Kats is a cool show. Not great, but certainly amusing.
Dark Kat? They kind of lost something in trimming down the series for time. Right now, Dark Kat is a pure criminal mastermind, who by sheer force bullies other criminals into serving him. As I understand the material, Dark Kat was meant to be a sitting judge in Megakat City, where he used his power to coordinate criminals, thwart police, and clandestinely crush all opposition. Sort of like a feline Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Hanna-Barbera is all over the map when it comes to cartoons. One can't say they didn't give SWAT Kats a fair shot.
The only reason I still watch this show, besides the radical theme music, is Ms. Brigs. The first catgirl I actually felt no guilt over falling in love with.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceYeah, i knew about Dark Kat's backstory. Just that how he ended up was really as a hugely generic villain on the level of He-man's Skeletor (though more unrepentantly competent in his evil).
Really, his first plot was pretty edgy and quite straightforward: Steal from the nuclear plant and nuke the city. Doesn't quite work (different grades of fissile material), but still...
Yes, SWAT is capitalized.
I was shocked, frightened and confused when I couldn't find a thread for this awesome show. But mostly, I was excited, because I've just found a great piece of news...
Official DVD release in December! Bingo!
Edit: Okay, that link isn't working. But search the site for "Swat Kats" and you'll find it.
Edit edit: Link fixed thanks to the valiant efforts of Deboss.
