@50429 Yeah... but running away because you're going to lure someone into a trap is very much not like other Jagers, as well as being support for my idea that one should ask why a Jager is running from a direct confrontation.

It is obvious it is not that a Jager likes avoiding a fight but this one knows he has got time against him and that is a bigger fight than just a pub brawl.

People inclined to such questions do not, as a rule, take assignments to beat up jaegers.

Well, a fight now could result in Ivo's apartment getting damaged, and that can be expensive. Especially if the landlord objects. He'd certainly lose his deposit.

On the other hand, a nice abandoned building with lots of places to hide, exposed timbers to climb on, damaged masonry to knock over on the bad guys... much more dramatic.

Well Smart Jagers are rare and if I don't recall wrong when Tarvek was doing the weasel rescuing weasels in the siege of Mechanicsburg one of the Jagers pointed out that he knew how to read and other stuff but that it was not common for Jagers to actually do so. In fact few Jagers know how to read if what said comment is true because of peer pressure of all you need to know is a how to fight mentality.

I wasn't too surprised that few Jaegers know how to read. It's probably reflective of the local population literacy rate over the decades. Education for all is a fairly recent concept in human history.

Huh, finally caught up again, after a few years of taking a break from the comic. I've got to say, the pacing's been rather chaotic of late, though perhaps I might have appreciated it more if I hadn't spoiled myself somewhat on the latest plot elements. Regardless, I understand what happened fairly well, although I do have a couple questions that may or may not have already been answered:

• What exactly was Boris doing in Paris? He seems to have just shown up, and then left just as quickly, without any explanation.
• Where did Tarvek disappear to? Did the Smoke Knights drag him off again?

I've also been wondering what Prende's Lantern actually does, although I suppose Agatha and friend are mostly looking for it because it might help, rather than because they know it definitely will, right?

(Speaking of which, as a Muse, what does Prende do?)

We don't know yet what Prende specifically does, nor what her lantern does (maybe to do with time traveling or sustained animation, considering what [CORPSEKING!andronicus] she was watching over)

We can assume that the English spy has been shadowing the Lady Heterodyne since her recent reappearance. No time to check things out, right now, but I think he showed up one or two more times before now with that implication.

also, no clue where Tarvek is. Last we saw him, overshadowed by a baddie, and in the know-how of Grandma. So either are possible, imo.

Karkat asked about Boris, Klaus's four-armed former(?) second-in-command, not Wooster the English spy. The latter's been trailing after Agatha, but the last we saw of Boris before the Timeskip, he was furtively asking questions to Mr. Head in a Jar about Sparks and slaver-wasps. After the Timeskip, there was very conspicuously no mention of him until he turned up in Paris. And no, there's been no explanation if he's officially working for Gil, or considers himself to still be a Klaus agent.

Violetta mentioned a story where Prende's Lantern was used to rescue the Storm King from a locale where "the sun never set", so it's not like they are chasing after it just on blind hope.

And I'd take it as given that Tarvek was dragged away again by Mr. Obsidian, most likely on orders of Grandmother.

Hmm...has anyone speculated that the Muse of Time is in fact a time displaced Lucrezia? It would explain a lot. Hell, I seem to recall Klaus even saying very early on that time travel would have allowed the Other to have attack Castle Heterodyne before she even existed.

Edit: Apparently, this is a rather common line of speculation. Nevermind then.
