A nice Terminator.
Trump delenda estWell, some constructs are more obviously so than others.
Also, Tarvek, you're supposed to have brains. You saw just what this guy was capable of; was a fight really your best option? You're probably not on Violetta's level (let alone some of the other sneaky ones), but trying to hide seems like the more sensible (and, if nothing else, less painful) option.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Looks like Tarvek is freaking out more than anything... I mean, wouldn't he normally be calm? But his family - well, he's mentioned a few times how he dislikes his family.
Seems that's enough to freak him out.
My first thought was, "Well, that was unexpected." For both of them.
I agree with the freak out.
Tarvek can occasionally react without thinking when under a lot of mental stress, like when they were in DK and the castle kept asking for a spark. Tarvek snapped and made the comment that they had LOTS of Sparks (i.e., the prisoners), but at that point all they could do is grind them up and use them for fuel. He was promptly embarrassed about it.
Tarvek's family is the type that would put stress on anyone. Constant stress is literally sickening without worrying about being infected/stabbed/burned alive.
Hence the irrational behavior.
Which, once Tarvek calms down, though, this will be a moment he can: use to his advantage (because he's a weasel), and will probably play off as 'I meant to do that."
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettI don't think Tarvek was off base there. Getting stabbed when you weren't expecting it is no indicator of being immune to wrenches. With Tarvek's training, even with one arm, he should be able to hold his own against a normal human, and he armed himself and struck from behind. The advantage should have been his. Regrettably, it turns out his captor was not a normal human, but that was a data point he did not possess.
With the data he had available, he chose the correct course. Knowing only that a family member deployed an operative with minimal concern for his well being is reason enough to avoid that family member, know what most of his family is like.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise. The wrench-attack was sensible enough. Trying to kick the guy after seeing what happened with said attack, not so much.
The only quarrel I have with him hitting the guy with the wrench is that he wasn't sneaky enough. Yelling about his family wasn't clever. But kicking the guy after he found how invulnerable he was was not clever, nor was the string of "no's". Those showed Tarvek out of control and not thinking things through.
Have a nice week. :)

Well considering what he has gone through.... he has every single reason to panic.
Edit: Will go off the grid for some days... So have a nice week.

Well here goes nothingFinding yourself in the grip of someone..., or something unexpectedly inhuman is quite a good time to panic a bit, I feel. Well, maybe not 'good', but understandable, perhaps.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise. My son's reaction to Tarvek panicking at the thought of his family: "Yep, that would it." After making a perfectly hilarious "oh shit" face.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettI'm still disappointed in him. He grew up with these people. Presumably he knows how to survive among them. This was the worst possible moment to have a panic attack.
That might've just been a crappy wrench Tarvek used. He shouldn't be strong enough to swing it with enough force to shatter it, no matter what he's hitting.

This is an automated program that checks the Sneaky Gate every 5 minutes. source codeMore sitcom-level romantic misunderstandings. Yay.
Dang. I wanted more about Tarvek. Poor Hoffman, Agatha needs to pay better attention to what she's saying. Still, the more the misunderstanding grows, the more certain its eventual resolution: the narrative demands it.
At some point, Zeetha is just going to sit down, grab a slice of cake, and enjoy the show.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Just Agatha there...at which point she is oblivious to the kind of "like" Hoffman is talking about. The sitcom romance mix ups are growing...
Hopefully it will be absolved when Agatha finally leaves Paris...it better in fact. That would be disappointing if it wasn't!
Meanwhile, EVERYONE is heading to Paris right now...
This is a situation you just know Agatha would have handled better if she hadn't been distracted.
Also, I read Dimi's two syllable 'doink' as one for a moment.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettI wonder if Paris will survive. Between Martellus, Seffie, Tarvek, Grandma, the Opera Geister, Agatha and her crew, Gil & Bang, and Andronicus, it is going to be wild.
The Master will not be happy, I'm sure.
Unless it turns out that he is far more powerful than everyone has expected. And considering the awe in which he is currently held, that's not impossible!
If it moves, eat it. If it doesn't move, kick it—then eat it!The Master and Andronicus meeting should be interesting once it occurs; don't they know eachother?
Yes, the Master mentioned fighting alongside him. I'm looking forward to that!
Maybe the Master can tell Andronicus why it was necessary to put him in stasis.

It wouldn't surprise me if Tarvek's throwing a tantrum just to get his captor to underestimate him.
