Ooooh, nice!

And yeah, that is so Gil. :D

Dunno what to think. Dunno what to think.

Except: pretty, pretty please, let a certain somebody get smashed across his smug mug when he lights Gil's fuse. Please.

It wouldn't be in Agatha's best interest right now, but I would love to see Gil and Agatha talking, Martellus butting in, them both curbstomping him, and then Gil looking up to see Agatha's split.

I'm actually really happy about this page.

  • I was half expecting a chase, but a confrontation is more fun. (Well, I'm also dreading it a bit, but at least more interesting/appealing.)
  • If Agatha and Martellus are still there, they're probably doing something. It could involve Beast-rebuilding! Maybe. Hope springs eternal?
  • I also look forward to finding out more about the book, key, and whatever Lady Selnikov was actually after.
  • That's definitely Gil for now, and he and Bang are hilarious.
  • I love Abbot Gerät so much. He's being straightforward, as friendly as possible, giving Gil a head's up on Martellus's political antics and the position he's put the Corbettites in, and skillfully pairing his reiteration of the sanctuary policy with the commitment to existing agreements with the Empire — all before acknowledging that Agatha's still here.

The Beast still seems like Agatha's best ticket out of there. I sincerely doubt we've seen the last of it.

I'm not optimistic about the book and the key being explored now, though I would surely welcome it. I could see a couple ways they could drive the plot now, but I feel like Agatha and Gil do not get extended face time yet — not unless the whole game of Gilgamesh And The Hunt For The Heterodyne Girl is about to change somehow. Which... I would also welcome, so sure, let's hope for some Book and Key development. :D

[up]It would seem likely that if Gil and Agatha did come face-to-face, head-Klaus would immediately take over and try to kill her. So yeah, they probably aren't going to have their Big Dramatic Confrontation yet.

True, I'm not sure how much they'll get around to doing with the key and book. But finding out what Lady Selnikov was looking for with them seems like something that the story would have to address before moving on too far from St. Szpac (whether Agatha's there for it or not) or not for a while.

Presumably not the final confrontation — as apparently Gil may still be chasing her when she heads from Paris to England — and obviously he doesn't get to kill her, but if these characters are actually all in the same place at the same time, either they're going to actually meet up or something interesting will probably have to intervene to prevent it. This seems a bit close for them to just plain miss each other.

As a demi-tangent: One of the big Relay For Life (American Cancer Society) fundraisers is, this year, electing a King, Queen and Chancellor of Fantasy Faire. I mention it here because one of their examples was Agatha Heterodyne! Feel free to indulge in a vote also - no membership required. (I voted an all-Girl-Genius ticket myself, with Krosp as the non-humanoid Chancellor.)

The Foglios have also made me happy with the Abbot on Monday's page. One of my pet peeves in any medium is when the plot-centric piece of intel gets relayed first, causing other, less centric, but still vitally important, pieces of information to be ignored or not mentioned at all, leading to completely avoidable screwups later on. It's a sloppy way of creating conflict, and the Foglios have neatly avoided it with the Abbot relaying information to Gil and Bang. I approve. [tup][tup][awesome]

@Corgi: That's funny! I'll have to check it out.

I'm game, too, but where in the heck is the nomination form on the website?

*shrieking laughter* Oh my goodness. GIL. He is trying to squelch Klauscopy with diplomatic complications.

You have to love Bang and Gil. :)

Hmm. Surrounded. Ok, that leaves only one direction to go. I am convinced. Chewie can tunnel.

Oh, it can, can't it? Good point. I was imagining Agatha busting through the enemy lines, unbound hair blowing wildly in the wind...

Gil still cracks me up in just about every panel here. Especially that last one.

Ol Bear, the voting form should be right at the bottom of the page I linked. If not, check to see if you have scripts or suchlike blocked.

ETA: Gil looks more Klausish than usual in most of the panels. Currently it's actually kind of giving me the creeps.

[up][up]That is a nice picture too, but I am too risk-averse to consider a frontal-assault on superior forces as long as there are other possibilities. A ticked off Heterodyne with hero-genetics and in a spark-fugue might think different though.

That... is 100% pure "how to annoy Dad" Gil. Love it. And, if the inner Klaus complains, well, toughies. Eat hot diplomatic convolutions. evil grin

This is the Gil who deliberately made a show entering DK so that Dad wouldn't kaboom it. What an evil little mind. tongue

Why do I feel Gil is on the side that he will learn more diplomacy as Klaus copy would say: "No this hot platter of diplomatic convolutions is yours."

Bang is not happy with it so who knows...

Agatha might be working on Chewie while Krosp is negotiating with Tweedle; offers in the table will include pots of catnip.

Well here goes nothing
