Nah, there's plenty of other manga too. It's just mostly dominated by Naruto.

You guys do know that Deidara was also the first major fight Sasuke had throughout Part 2 right? His fight with Team 7 didn't even have him use the Sharingan until he suppressed Kurama's influence, and his use of Sharingan against Orochimaru was strictly to reverse his Body Hopping jutsu back on him, in order to get all of his powers.

There was that one time in the forest where he saw the illusions as floating clouds of chakra when he had his sharingan turned on. Though the Deidara fight was the first time where it was explicitly explained IIRC.

EDIT: Went back and checked and he could see Naruto and Kabuto's chakra radiating from them.

Consider what needing to be saved from Deidara would do to Sasuke's credibility as a threat.

An asspull way of surviving, on the other hand, shows the author's bias.

Deidara pretty much won that fight. Sasuke literally had no other options & only survived due to plot armor. If it wasn't for that Deidara would have had the fight completely in the bag. He genuinely beat Sasuke no matter what honestly & is the superior combatant.

Alternatively, he could've just had Sasuke win and Deidara not use some sort of suicide technique that should've killed Sasuke but didn't because of his incredibly thick plot armor.

Despite it's reputation id say Fairy Tail is a bigger offender of Ass Pull than Naruto

Eh, Fairy Tail's Asspulls are irritating, but considering Mashima does it for every single fight ever, most people are desensitized to it.

It's really Naruto that gets the most flack, despite a number of beloved manga being just as bad or worse. Ever tried criticizing Hunter x Hunter? Fanbase is rabid as all hell.

The Danzo fight itself was fine. The issue was Danzo ended up as a red herring with my real relevance to the overall plot and just became a convenient guy to pin all the village's problems on

Btw, as for the Sharingan being able to see chakra...didn't Obito first do that in a flashback?

Naruto gets the most flack and there's a lot of other anime that do a lot of ass pulling, too.

The problem is that Naruto is way more popular than the other manga and anime that do a lot of ass pulling, and it also tends to strain people's tolerance for them a lot more because the characters who keep doing asspulls are the base breaker Uchiha Clan.

Uchihas are the best base breaker, lol, they either made the manga much better, or completely ruined everything about it, no middle ground.

Not to play that card, but people also had higher expectations for Naruto.

Naruto and Fairy Tail's asspulls is like a B-Student and a D-Student failing a test. The B-Student's failure is going to standout much more in that regard.

It would be if they were that different in terms of quality, but... honestly, while Kishimoto had a lot of good ideas, he has handled most of them terribly. Mostly because he decided to focus on the Uchiha to the detriment of everything else.

That didn't happen until the Uchiha starting taking over the plot though. Most people online had a high opinion of Naruto before the Kage Summit took place.

Naruto was the big manga for a lot of people so they thought pretty highly of it.

I know I did, aside from DB this was the first anime I saw when I was a little kid & I put it on a pedestal for years.
