* {{Yandere}}: [[spoiler:Akane]], only in the fandom. There are many Pixiv fanarts featuring her in this state over [[spoiler:Chinatsu raping/making love with her sister Akari]]. Ironically, [[spoiler:Chinatsu]] has some (canon) yandere tendencies as well.

* BaseBreakingCharacter:
** Fans argue over both Kyouko and Sakurako due to having very strong "presence" and getting the attention of seasons one and two respectively.
** Chinatsu also causes this, due to her [[JekyllAndHyde flipping her switch]] from time to time, and also especially due to the scene where she gives Akari her first kiss and it's played out like borderline ''rape''.

* FanPreferredCouple: Sakurako and Himawari, probably due to an amazing amount of {{UST}}.

** The series is often criticized by fans of "more serious" YuriGenre works because this manga never directly concerns lesbian relationships and only uses ShipTease between the girls for fanservice and comedy. At the same time, fans and other people pay attention to the fact that this series was conceived as an AffectionateParody of Yuri and a similar fanservice, appealing to the apparent parody of CastFullOfGay and [[ShippingGoggles Chitose's fantasies]].

** In one chapter, Kyouko sees Nadeshiko and Hanako at a diner and enthusiastically tries to strike up a friendship after she sees Nadeshiko reading a copy of a magazine with Mirakurin on the cover. Yui drags Kyouko away and apologizes profusely for the interruption. Ironically, Yui and Nadeshiko would later become very close online friends when they start adventuring together in Namo Namo Fantasy 14, without either of them knowing who the other is.

** In "Yuru Yuri Everyday", Kyoko nicknames Akari "Ringo"[[note]] ''Apple'' [[/note]]. In LightNovel/MomokyunSword, which starred three-quarters of the ''Yuru Yuri'' cast, Ringo was the name of Shiori Mikami's character.

* LikeYouWouldReallyDoIt: Chapter 174 ends with [[spoiler: Nishagaki-sensei accidentally detonating a bomb in the student council office. The last we see of Ayano, Chitose, Himawari, and Sakurako is a fade to white as it blows up in their faces, followed by TheTag of Matsumoto Rise arriving and thinking to herself that the office has been totally destroyed with no hint about the others' fate.]] However, given the nature of the manga, the odds that Namori will [[spoiler: kill off half the cast]] are ''extremely'' slim.

* GrowingTheBeard: The first five chapters are solid quality-wise, yet they're also a fairly standard Seinfeldian "manga about nothing" where the characters fill time with random conversations while Namori-sensei struggles to come up with a direction.[[note]] ''Tellingly, she later redid these chapters to make them resemble later volumes more.'' [[/note]] ''Then'' comes chapter six, where Kyoko realizes Akari lacks presence and calls an intervention to {{Retool}} her into a more interesting character, commenting on and deconstructing its own nature as a manga. For the first time the gonzo, fourth wall-breaking shenanigans formed the actual plot of a chapter, and this gave''Yuru Yuri'' its own identity.

* IdiotPlot: One chapter features the Amusement Club trapped in Yui's apartment during a power outage and unable to see a thing. However, the girls have already been shown using modern smart phones, so apparently Namori forget those have built-in flashlights.

The ''Secrets of the Super Prominent Protagonist'' gag ShowWithinTheShow looks similar to ''Website/TheGrandListOfConsoleRolePlayingGameCliches''.
