* HollywoodPudgy: Averted. Almost every woman on the show has some legitimate body issue that is bothering them. And its often because it doesn't fit the Hollywood view of attractive. Tummies seem to the be the biggest issue.

** Somewhat averted because they are given the option of opting out but just choose not to. As far as I know, only one person has done this. Presumably, if they declined, we wouldn't see them on the show, as there would be nothing to do, plus [[MoneyDearBoy they don't get paid if they do that]].

I got here from the Doctor Who episode where Jack shoots robots with a gun he keeps up his ass.

** Some contestants were famously allowed to say "no" to getting a haircut. They shouldn't have been allowed to do that. If they accepted the makeover, they should have been required to accept a haircut and haircolor. [[note]]Probably because the goal of the show is not to traumatize the contestant and make them hate their "new look".[[/note]]

** In the tenth season, one contributor was particularly reluctant to get a makeover, and flat-out stated at the end of it all that she liked her old look better. She seemed so genuinely unhappy that Stacey and Clinton actually ''offered to give her back all of her old clothes and allow her to go home unchanged.'' [[spoiler:Jodi ended up sticking with the new wardrobe, though she maintained it was largely for the sake of her daughters, who had nominated her.]]

* HarsherInHindsight: Stacy and Clinton's friendship in the last few years have taken a turn for the worse. As Clinton wrote about Stacy in his book, and she blocked him on social media. It all goes down to poor communication between them, but it doesn't look like a reunion is in the works anytime soon.

* FelonyMisdemeanor: Some people don't care about fashion; others have an unconventional sense of style that they enjoy. According to Clinton and Stacy, these people are wrong and must give up their ways.
