* BetterThanCanon: Website/YouTube user The Slinky Kid managed to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQTl26zmr5Y make a vastly improved version of the special]]. It's only in animatic form, but it succeeds in both looking better and trimming down a lot of the padding to give the special a more streamlined plot. Not to mention it makes Nicole's botched CharacterDevelopment look considerably more believable.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment:
** At one point, Zeke harasses a girl and when she complains, Ms. Parmington says he's doing it because he likes her. The girl is never seen again and Zeke never does anything like that again.
** Shortly after, the principal enters the classroom, says a few lines, and leaves the film as quickly as he came.
** After leaving the junkyard and heading to Ricky's house, the guard dogs show up again out of nowhere to chase Nicole, Lenee and Smithy, only to quickly give up.
* BileFascination: A lot of people out there want to watch the movie just to see how bad it is.
* CargoShip: Smithy and his sandwich.
* ClicheStorm: You've seen a lot of the character types and story elements in other cartoons before.
* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** While she is a minor character, Great Grandma is a favorite character of many viewers, since her [[TheUnintelligible garbled speech]] is pretty funny and seems to come right out of nowhere. She’s certainly one of the most famous and memorable things about this movie. Even stranger, she actually says something coherent at the end of the movie: “Do you know what, Nicole? I never stopped believing in Santa. And you don’t have to stop, either.” Shortly after this is more gibberish followed by "... CHRISTMAS!" She’s pretty darn enjoyable to watch. On top of that, [[IntelligibleUnintelligible Ricky seems to understand her perfectly fine]]--note that the above-mentioned coherent line is the only thing she says in the entire movie ''not'' addressed to Ricky, making it seem like she just speaks like that to him on purpose.
** Lenee is also more widely liked by virtue of being one of the few, if not the only, completely likable kid characters. Her {{Moe}} personality and gentle nature probably help. As does the fact she [[Creator/JodiBenson shares her actress]] with [[WesternAnimation/TheLittleMermaid1989 Ariel]].
* FridgeLogic: Despite saying she absolutely hates Ricky's bear, instead of shoving it back or throwing it away immediately, Nicole ''keeps'' the gift for no reason.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: This quote from Nicole's father: "Nothing's too good for my princess. And I've got the credit card bills to prove it..."
** During recess, Smithy and Nicole build snowmen and then see that Lenee has made an elaborate snow sculpture of Santa and a reindeer.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: Despite the horrible quality of the special, there is one genuine moment in there; after Nicole's change of heart and she retrieves Ricky's bear, she takes it to give it back to him. He gently turns her down, reminding her that he gave it to her as a gift. It's [[MoodKiller ruined immediately]] by a random {{beat}}, but it's actually kind of sweet while it lasts.

* SpecialEffectFailure: The movie is ''entirely'' composed of .jpg images, generic fonts (including, of course, Comic Sans, which actually was the font they used on the opening credits), and CGI so crappy that it looks like it was ripped straight out of an amateur UsefulNotes/{{Steam}} indie game created in less than a month by one guy using only Microsoft programs from the early 2000s. It is so bad that it makes ''WesternAnimation/{{Foodfight}}'' look passable.

** Ricky. Sad story aside, his decision to give away his late mother's keepsake to a girl who he has a crush on, who has said she wasn't interested, makes him come off a bit entitled.

He speculates that Slater got Cartwright involved as an actor and producer through Scientology, and she in turn used her connections to get the rest of the AllStarCast.
* TheWoobie: Ricky. His mom's dead, seeing as he lives with his (probably senile) grandmother and his dad is nowhere to be seen. (who's also implied to be dead) He's selfless enough to give away his TragicKeepsake to his crush, only for her to yell at him and call said keepsake a "nasty thing". Things turn out fine for him in the end, though.
