Restoring under better fit

Added DiffLines:

* OlderThanTheyThink: Hourglass would actually have been a decent villain in a more serious or dramatic superhero movie. A man with a terminal illness wants to suck the life out of an entire city to gain immortality? Sounds pretty intense. Not surprising this has been used by several ''Franchise/SpiderMan'' villains -- most notably, Vulture and Silvermane have both had plots to return their youth at the cost of someone else. Plus, he's similar to ''ComicBook/XMen'' villain Omega Red, in that he ''has'' to drain people's lives or else his powers will kill him from the inside.

* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: The film might outdo Creator/SeltzerAndFriedberg in this department due to how different the landscape of {{Superhero}} movies is now compared to the 2000s. Aside from the fact that the entire plot is copied wholesale from the ''Film/SpiderManTrilogy'', the high school is played up as a ''Franchise/SpiderMan'' parody rather than a ''Franchise/MyHeroAcademia'' one, which would probably be the case had the film been made in more recent times. The ''Film/XMenFilmSeries'' is given high billing and the ''Franchise/FantasticFour'' are not portrayed in a negative light while ''Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse'' icons like ''ComicBook/IronMan'' and ''ComicBook/CaptainAmerica'' are completely absent, clearly dating the film to 2008.

* In the Brazilian dub, Hourglass is voiced by Eduardo Borgeth and Jill Johnson by Mariana Torres. They'd make another main villain and blonde LoveInterest respectively in ''Film/TheAmazingSpiderMan''.

** Creator/DrakeBell, who plays a parody of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, would go on to voice Spidey for real in the ''WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan'' TV series, which is practically a parody of Spider-Man. This might seem less hilarious after Marvel paid him to dub over Spidey's guest spots in the more-serious ''WesternAnimation/TheAvengersEarthsMightiestHeroes''.
