Misplaced, moving to the correct tab

Added DiffLines:

* IKnewIt: A teaser was released of a potential new Gem for this episode. Fans guessed it was a BaitAndSwitch and there wouldn't actually be a new Gem introduced, with most saying that it would just be Ronaldo's Gemsona. Much to the fans' dismay, that's exactly what happened. Similarly, most correctly guessed that it was a Bloodstone.

Requires Word Of God confirmation

* AuthorsSavingThrow: While considered a subpar episode at best, Ronaldo actually getting CharacterDevelopment and trying to better himself after failing to change much at all in his previous episodes is considered one of the saving graces of the episode by some.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* FanonDiscontinuity: Many fans wish this episode never happened. Largely due to Ronaldo being even more obnoxious than usual, nothing of substance happening and all of the interesting plots being wasted. Plenty of veteran fans outright advise newcomers to just skip this episode, as to not waste their time with it.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Ronaldo realizes that he's misjudged the Crystal Gems and decides to join them so that he can truly understand and help their cause. But when the Gems go on a mission, they don't allow Ronaldo to join for fear of him becoming TheLoad, which leads to him spending the whole episode acting like Jerkass to Steven, which leads to Steven calling him out. While the Gems' decision was understandable, and he still learned something by the end, not allowing him to come effectively squandered a golden opportunity for Ronaldo to see what the Gems do first hand, gain deeper respect for them, and allow for positive CharacterDevelopment for him. It also could have allowed the episode to incorporate action while also giving the show an equally viable means of showcasing the Gem that was hyped in marketing but turned out to be Ronaldo's Gemsona.

Dewicking Internet Backdraft as decided by this TRS thread

* InternetBackdraft: A number of fans were quite vocal about their disappointment due to a teaser image released a day before the episode aired, made to appear as if a new Gem was going to be introduced. Said new Gem ended up being Ronaldo's Gemsona. Although many guessed correctly ahead of time that this would be the case, many who didn't felt tricked afterwardsit should be noted that this was entirely the doing of Cartoon Network, rather than the show's crew.
* MemeticMutation: This face that Pearl makes is quickly reaching this status (particularly among people who use it as their reaction to the episode itself).

* CounterpartComparison: Ronaldo saying "That's rough buddy" to Steven after he reveals why only certain people (like Jasper and Eyeball) refer to him by his gem name drew a lot of comparisons to Zuko from WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender, who had said the exact same thing to Sokka after he says that his first girlfriend turned into the moon.

* HypeBacklash: The day before the episode aired, Cartoon Network released a teaser image of a bloodstone done in the show's style, making many believe that a new Gem would be appearing. Instead, Bloodstone turns out to be nothing more than Ronaldo's Gemsona, and the episode itself ends up being a prime example for why the aforementioned is considered a Scrappy.

* DontShootTheMessage: Controversies aside, the episode still has some important morals, like "Don't act like you have authority over a group you don't belong to" and "You shouldn't support something just to boost your own ego." Most importantly, it shows that people who are willing to overcome bigoted tendencies still can't change overnight, and while some never do, other just progress slowly.
