The last Hindsight entry is the only one that has even a remotely decent connection, all the others are shoehorns.

* HilariousInHindsight:
** The Martian robot in this movie is called ''Torg''; a season before the riff on ''Film/ManosTheHandsOfFate''.
*** When Podcast/{{RiffTrax}} did a live riffing of the film in 2013, they took advantage of this with a couple of Torgo-related jokes.
** Joel's essay on office Christmas parties in TheSeventies sounds a lot like an episode of ''Series/MadMen''.
** The SOL crew would get ''lots'' more suggestive scenes of jets refueling three seasons later in ''[[Recap/MysteryScienceTheater3000S06E12TheStarfighters The Starfighters]]''.
** Servo jokes that Voldar and his hench-Martians are being portrayed by American politicians... including some guy named [[UsefulNotes/JoeBiden "Joseph Biden."]]

* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: Even by the show's standards, this episode's host segments are just so sweet and adorable. As shown when Gypsy provides a Nativity Scene in her mouth to cheer the guys up from their cynical Christmas Essays, and the ending segment when Joel reads a letter, it gets the bots pretty teary-eyed.

* TooSoon: Servo riffs, "You know, if they cancel Battlestar Galactica, I'm gonna kill myself." Joel quickly puts up a hand to shut him up. A 15-year-old fan, Eddie Seidel Jr., actually did commit suicide after the show was canceled.

It applies to real life as well: Mike Nelson once admitted to wishing Dropo dolls existed just so he gets run over by a train.could light them on fire.

* SpecialEffectFailure: The show has always had charmingly cheap props and effects, but the Invention Exchange's "Wish Squisher" is hilarious. Frank makes no effort to hide that he is turning the boxes over to allow their contents to ''magically'' transform. The boxes clearly have two lids as well. But what really takes the cake is the final transformation of a box into a gift certificate; the box is still completely visible as the certificate is taken out. Of course, considering the effects of the movie they are spoofing, this is probably intentional.
