* EvilIsSexy: CFW Magic wears a costume that's [[{{Stripperific}} skimpier]] than Arfoire's, and has a large amount of supporters.

* HilariousInHindsight:
** Vert's comments to Neptune about the main character always being less popular compared to the others. But the only character more popular than Neptune [[http://www.compileheart.com/neptune_mk2/result.html is Noire]].
** In one of Vert's bonus voice files, the Leanbox goddess mentions about wishing to have her own younger sister. Then comes Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia's phone division in September 2013, which technically makes Nokia's hybrid handheld console and phone, the N-Gage, a Microsoft-branded handheld console (even though it was discontinued long before the acquisition).
** Creator/XantheHuynh voices Falcom, which obviously represents [[Creator/{{Falcom}} Nihon Falcom]]. She would later voice two Falcom characters: Altina Orion in ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfHeroesTrailsOfColdSteel'' and Creha in ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfNayutaBoundlessTrails''.

** A somewhat... [[Administrivia/TropesAreFlexible unusual example]] happens with the games [[Website/GOGDotCom GOG]] release. The Neptunia series as a whole has a strong Anti-Piracy / Pro DRM stance when it comes to gaming, with this entry being by far the most overt of them all. GOG, and by extension its customers, meanwhile hold a much stronger Anti DRM ideology and with people being much more critical of Anti-piracy arguments. Those factors combined can make the games appearance on that storefront somewhat jarring.

* OvershadowedByControversy:
** Talk to fans about this game, chances are the Conquest Ending might be brought up in conversation, and is one of the things Nepgear [[NeverLiveItDown is often remembered for]].
** If it's not that, it's CFW Trick for being a revolting pedophile that's '''played for laughs''' who bumped the rating up to an M.

* EvilIsSexy: CFW Magic wears a costume that's [[{{Stripperific}} skimpier]] than Arfoire's.

** 5pb. paired up with anyone who either increases SP gain or reduces SP cost turns into a GameBreaker as well. Her first skill, Heavenly Sound, hits 10 times, each with a chance at paralyzing her target. As long as she has either of those two effects, she will never run out of SP, so she can use it every turn making it so the enemy never gets a turn. This works on some bosses.
** Like Re;birth 1, both Neptune and Uni's EXE Drive in Re;birth 2 can delay the enemy's turn. Additionally, 5pb's Slow Speed Break Skill can do the same without needing to use the EXE Gauge. Just throw in a 4th character to fill the gauge and the three can delay the enemy near-indefinitely.

* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: Cave is popular in the West mainly due to her cool demeanor, her being a massive GameBreaker as soon as she joins the party, and her [[BulletHell fighting style.]]

* ObviousBeta: The [=DLCs=] fixed this though. Even without the DLC, ''mk2'' is still not as bad as its predecessor in terms of being an Obvious Beta.

* PolishedPort: The PC version of ''Re;Birth 2'' sports 1080p resolution support, and is capable of running at 60 FPS.

* SalvagedGameplayMechanic: Part of the free DLC for the Re;birth version is the anime version of [[InfinityPlusOneSword Gehaburn]], negating the need to do a Conquest Mode playthrough purely to get it. [[note]]The only reason for even considering working for the Conquest Ending is for HundredPercentCompletion.[[/note]] It even has stats much higher than the normal Conquest Ending version, more similar to the sword unlocked by the Holy Sword ending.

** As seen in the Darkhorse entry, Linda is pretty popular nowadays. Back in the days of MK-II, she was pretty disliked and was low on the overall popularity poll. Not as much as Pirachu (now Warechu) or Mina, but she was still really low on the list.

** Re;birth 2 gives Nepgear a line when using an item about how it's wasteful, but she'll use it anyway. This is obviously meant to be used when she uses items on herself because of her low self-esteem early on in the game, but it's used when using items on other characters as well, even ''revival items''.

* NightmareFuel: The Conquest Ending. [[spoiler:It basically (and suddenly) [[CerebusSyndrome turns]] the largely light-hearted and goofy game into something horrifying, as you watch Nepgear (reluctantly) kill ''all'' of her friends and family with the Gehaburn until their is no one left but herself. It's especially unsettling to see the silly characters you've watched for the whole take everything that's happening in deadly serious manner.]]

* MoralEventHorizon: Linda definitely crosses this in the Conquest Ending. [[spoiler:Beating the shit out of a weakened Vert and mortally wounding her was the worst thing she did in the entire game. Her KarmicDeath by the hands of Nepgear was pretty cathartic.]]

* AmericansHateTingle: Western ''Neptunia'' fans have nothing nice to say about CFW Trick, due to his creepy obsession towards younger girls (namely [[TokenMiniMoe Rom and Ram]]) as well as lacking the any sympathetic qualities -- both [[HateSink in]] and out-of-universe -- the made the other villains well-liked. So it's surprising that the Japanese popularity pole of the game ranks him higher than ''the Oracles''.

** CFW Trick is the perfect example of this. He's a pedophile that's played for laughs, which is seen as mostly harmless by Japanese standards. As such behavior is considerd a crime by oversea standards, Western fans are understandably disgusted by his creepy obsession towards little girls and [[AmericansHateTingle hate him]] for that fact alone.
