** In contrast, Cure Lovely is either liked for having more noticeable flaws than [[Anime/DokiDokiPrettyCure Mana]] or is despised for not only being absolutely preachy about love and happiness, but also being incompetent and reliant on other people whenever her values of life are challenged (e.g. Episodes 30, 44, and 46). And then, there is the deal of her being the [[spoiler:central character of the love triangle plot that eclipses Happiness Charge's second half]], which caused her to become an even bigger example. ** In Episode 7, Megumi and Hime cut a cake together to celebrate their 100th day as friends, which looks suspiciously like the Saiark wedding cake. It's even Lampshaded by Seiji.

** In Episode 8 Elenyan hugs Hime after her splitting the cracker from her and friends, and later Hime hug Megumi from the paid entry from fortune teller.
** Episode 20: Yuuko takes Hime's hand with both of her own hands and says that she loves Hime. Hime [[LuminescentBlush blushes]], the camera has a shot of Yuuko squeezing Hime's hand, and the music makes it sound like a romantic confession.
** Episode 21 downright gives us Megumi saying that she loves Hime, with Hime giving an expected reaction. In the middle of a fight, no less. Later, the three Cures are seen holding hands.
** Episode 26: Megumi apparently dreams of Hime's belly.
** Episode 28: Hime and Megumi hate thinking about Yuuko leaving the team and hug her tightly.
** Episode 31: Megumi goes into some kind of CuddleBug overdive, glomping and snuggling first Hime and then Iona.

*** Hime says she is sad that she doesn't have a boy to hang out with, so she decides to share her love with Yuuko and Iona.
** Episode 49: Iona becomes worried about Hime going back to the Blue Sky Kingdom, but Hime says that [[IChooseToStay she will stay in Pikarigaoka]], and then she says that she loves Iona.

** Episode 2 has Megumi and Hime holding hands and the introduction pose.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter:
** Or rather, ''characters''. The international Cures are, for the most part, just there to advertise the fact that there are Cures all over the globe, with little else to make them noticeable. This is slightly justified by the fact that the Happiness Charge Cures are the main characters of the story, but when there are international Cures who show up for one scene and are never mentioned again, one has to wonder about the purpose of showing them in the first place. Maria Hikawa/Cure Tender also fell in this trope because she only appeared for a few episodes after freeing from being BrainwashedAndCrazy and she got totally removed after the season ended. Because of this, she didn't appear in the NonSerialMovie and the CrisisCrossover ''Anime/PrettyCureAllStars'' movie series.
** Yuuko has little in the ways of a character arc compared to the other lead Cures besides her sparse moments with Phantom. As a result she comes off as a FlatCharacter compared to the other girls due to having not much of a personality outside her love for food and talent as a SupremeChef.

** The American Precure team, [[SpellMyNameWithAnS Bomburger Precure/Bombergirl Precure]], has some fan nicknames: the redhead on this team is called Cure Sheriff and the blonde Cure Deputy (a name for [[TokenMinority the Native American girl]] has yet to catch on).

* FandomRivalry: with its fellow series Anime/HeartCatchPrettyCure, which came out four years earlier. while it's not uncommon for most Pretty Cure series to be compared to one another, these two are often the pair brought up the most due to not only for sharing a director and color scheme for their respective teams(pink, blue, yellow, and purple.). But also share similar storylines and character archetypes (Ex: Hime/Erika & Iona/Yuri). Because of the similarities, many Heartcatach fans tend to view Happiness Charge as a diet version at best, or a shameless copycat at worst.

** Not surprisingly, Megumi[=/=]Hime has much more following than Megumi[=/=]Seiji.

* TheScrappy: It's hard to find anyone online who actually ''likes'' Blue, citing how he doesn't do much to justify his Guardian Of The Earth status, often doing nothing to the point where people say '''''[[Anime/DragonBallZ Shin]]''''' got more done than him. [[spoiler:These feelings became worse when it's revealed that Blue's CommitmentIssues single-handedly caused the entire plot to happen due to pulling a random rule out of his ass stating that Cures can't fall in love, which kickstarts Cure Mirage's StartOfDarkness, with Red and Phantom going on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge in response]].

** Blue is becoming a contender, especially as of Episode 24.
