As it turns out, the Night Walker is actually Amy's brother Duncan, who was BeneathSuspicion because he's in a wheelchair (although he turns out to be faking his paralysis to disguise himself). The first three areas of the game play the "Recurring character with a personal connection to a member of the team who turns out to be the BigBad" completely straight, so for this ''not'' to be the case in White Peaks is a big surprise.]]

* AcceptableProfessionalTargets: Stock traders. In Case 12, not only is the victim, a stock trader, an [[AmbitionIsEvil overly ambitious]] cold fish as far as at least two of the suspects are concerned, but the killer is himself a stock trader who killed the victim [[GreenEyedMonster due to the latter being promoted]].

** While Head Case (Case 52 from The Conspiracy) wasn't much of a shocker due to how the last case was left off, and the preview to that case, it was the ending of Chapter 3 that left everyone without words. For starters, we find out that [[spoiler:Louis Leroux, the person who asked the Force to search for his friend Zoe in the first place, was the killer of this case.]] And to make things even worse, after the killer's sentence, [[spoiler:we find a very depressed Jones, who couldn't participate in the case due to grief, telling us goodbye, to then start swallowing a whole bottle of sedatives, attempting suicide.]], ending the chapter on that cliffhanger. In fact, we start the Additional Chapter right after that event, and it becomes one of the main side events from that chapter.

** When ''World Edition'' ended, many fans complained about the lack of characters from previous seasons (other than Ezra Hope and Grace) appearing, particularly in North America. ''The Conspiracy'' seems to address that issue, as many characters from Grimsborough, Pacific Bay and ''World Edition'' make comebacks throughout the season. Not only that, but fan-favorite characters like Jones, Cathy and Tony Marconi were given much more screentime and CharacterDevelopment than they had received in the first season.
** After the rather negative portrayals of LGBT people (specifically, lesbians) in Season 1, ''Pacific Bay'' introduced [[ButchLesbian Hannah Choi]] as a main character and featured a somewhat sympathetic gay suspect in the first case, who, for once, didn't murder the victim. And as the game goes on, several more positive portrayals of LGBT people come up.
** While both Michelle Zuria and Mia Loukas were popular characters in their own rights, many fans were disappointed that they were [[spoiler: killed off very soon after their introductions]] (and in Mia's case, never actually becoming a partner of the player). ''Travel In Time'' has alleviated this by having Nebet, a stowaway, join the time very early and begin to go on investigations with the player as well as having a lot more screentime than both Michelle and Mia.
** A common complaint of ''Travel in Time'' was that the storyline was too inconsistent and the members of T.I.M.E. didn't seem to interact with each other all that well. ''Supernatural Investigations'', which also has 30 cases, has a much more consistent storyline with many likable non-main characters who reappear throughout the season. In addition, the Supernatural Hunters are very close with each other, acting more like a family than a crime investigation team.
