* SugarWiki/HeReallyCanAct: "Hot Spring Fever" can best be described as Creator/JeffBennett hamming it up as Samson and Raj for 10 minutes. There's a reason Creator/JoeMurray said he should've won an award for his work in this episode.

* FanonDiscontinuity: A lot of fans don't like the series finale (and to a lesser extent, the entire last season) and don't consider it to be canon, due to how it heavily contradicts the show's history (even for a show like this.)

** In the Japanese dub, this is one the earlier roles for many of the voice actors of the leads, mainly for Kunihiro Kawamoto (Lazlo), Creator/KenichirouMatsuda (Clam), Creator/SachikoKojima (Patsy) and Creator/KentaroTone (Lumpus).

Added DiffLines:

* VanillaProtagonist: Lazlo, with his nonchalant and chipper attitude, is much less interesting than his supporting cast, like Raj, Clam, and Scoutmaster Lumpus. Creator/JoeMurray noted in his book that the writers loved coming up with crazy scenarios involving the side characters, but when he'd remind them to think about what Lazlo would be doing, they'd reply "Can't we just lock Lazlo in a closet for this episode?" Indeed, the later episodes would often put Lazlo OutOfFocus to focus more on exploring the side characters.

The tortoise and the frog in that episode both look and sound like Filburt and Rachel (deadname: Ralph) respectively.

What was described here is character development; ACI mentions how fans view the character.

%%** Edward started out as a Jerkass bully who hated Lazlo and the other campers, but then he evolved into a sympathetic JerkassWoobie who was driven by his four older brothers into being a bully.
