Now only applies to fandom trends. Specific works doing this are Adaptational tropes.

* RonTheDeathEater: The writer intentionally makes Alejandro even more villainous than he was in canon, [[HateSink due to wanting him to be hated by the readers.]]

Not YMMV

* DuelingWorks: With ''Fanfic/CandyForYourThoughts'', another ''World Tour'' fic that ships Cody with a girl he has little canon interaction with and has been praised for its alternate take on disliked or divisive elements of the canon season.

Trope is now Sugar Wiki, no non-sugar wicks allowed.

* BetterThanCanon: While more of an AlternateUniverseFic than a FixFic, many reviewers have praised the story for doing away with or better executing many of the unpopular and controversial elements of ''[[ContestedSequel Total Drama World Tour]]'', with a few (usually those who despised the season, notably Creator/TheKoboldNecromancer) even calling the story superior to the canon season.

* NauseaFuel: The description of the real movie ''Film/Piranha3D'' Just reading pieces of this movie was sick! The author even had to warn the readers to skim over a certain scene. No one can blame DJ for freaking out!

Added DiffLines:

* StrawmanHasAPoint: Alejandro's remarks about how Bridgette is only interested in love and making out. While really cruel and unremarkable to say, the canon version had turned Bridgette from a chill surfer into a lustful girl who's interested in kissing people she's in love with to the point of cheating on Geoff with Alejandro. Therefore, Alejandro was pointing out the directions the writers went with Bridgette's character after Island.

* JerksAreWorseThanVillains: Duncan is depicted as immoral and selfish, cheats on Courtney by having sex with Gwen, and abandons Gwen just because he doesn't want to deal with the responsibility of fatherhood. Alejandro, on the other hand, is the main villain, and although he's much worse than canon, he still shows some [[EvenEvilHasStandards Even Evil Has Standards]] moments, like being speechless and furious about Duncan's infidelity and showing genuine sympathy for those that are harmed or troubled at times.

Removing entries that don't mention creator preferred ones, which is needed to count as a Fan Preferred Couple. Feel free to add back if there is ones.

* FanPreferredCouple: Well...yeah, duh. Part of the point of this fic. With Cody/Bridgette and minor Ezekiel/Izzy.
