** The Black Knight doesn't take much interest in finishing off Ike until the latter proves himself as a warrior with potential. We find out that he's been waiting for Ike to equal or surpass Greil in [[TheUltimateTechnique their family's swordsmanship technique]] to prove himself stronger than them both. He all but states this when he has a clean chance to kill Ike at the end of Chapter 24 and casually opts to leave instead, telling Ike to bring Ragnell next time.

* TheArtifact: The Slim Lance is described as a "lightweight lance [[WomenAreDelicate favored by female fighters]]." While this was true in previous games, where a unit's Constitution/Build dictated their ability to handle weapon weight, ''Path of Radiance'' was the first game to use the Strength stat for the calculations instead, and every female lance user in the game has at least 8 Strength, enough to wield the basic Iron Lance with no speed penalty.

''Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance'' is the ninth game in the ''Franchise/FireEmblem'' series, released on the UsefulNotes/NintendoGameCube in 2005 to coincide with the series' [[MilestoneCelebration 15th anniversary]]. It is the first of two games that take place on the continent of Tellius, seemingly completely disconnected from the canon of previous entries. ''Path of Radiance'' is the first home console ''Fire Emblem'' since ''VideoGame/FireEmblemThracia776'' back in 1999, the first game in the franchise to feature voice acting and the first console game to get an international release. The CGI cutscenes were animated by Digital Frontier.

* XanatosGambit: No matter how much King Ashnard's plans are thwarted, he remains confident in his ultimate success. Why? Because if his forces defeat Ike's, they were weak and unworthy of his attention after all; if Ike defeats Daein's [[SortingAlgorithmOfEvil increasingly strong generals]], then [[INeedYouStronger they prove their strength]], [[BloodKnight and Ashnard gets the fight that he craves]] when Ike finally confronts him.

His insane MightEqualsRight philosophy makes even the final confrontation a win-win scenario to him- whether he triumphs or not, the strongest will prevail and rule the weak.
