English Troper. Have been on the wiki since 14, but never got around to doing anything big or making a contributor handle or page. Prone to over use parentheses and long words.
In terms of education, I'm mainly involved with the humanities and linguistics. I'm reasonably proficient in French, Latin and Ancient Greek, and have picked up bits of Mandarin, Italian, Spanish, Russian and German from others in the school.
A big RPG fan, both for Pen and Paper (second edition AD&D is my preferred rule set) and the computer versions. I prefer story- and character-driven games, and BioWare is the game company I most trust to deliver there. No MMORPGs, though, since I have neither the time nor the money for them.
Also enjoys Fan Fic, to an unhealthy degree. They're like free books, and given how fast I read, that's a very good thing. I have to thank the wiki for its Fanfic Recommendations, which have often been good. Often the fanfic is my only connection to a series; I've never seen the actual show, or only bits of episodes and music videos based on it: SG-1 is a case in point here
