This page has my name so naturally I make the rules here... Or Not.

Few tropes about me and this humble page.

Combo of weird tropes of my persona. Deal with it.

BE WARNED OF THE NUMEROUS ENGRISH MISTAKES YOU’LL SEE HERE. ENGLISH IS NOT MY MAIN LANGUAGE. Ye hav bin warn’d

Odyssey in Five Lands is a story created by me and it is about a 17 Years old guy named Mune Sasaki who, apparently with no good reason, decided to travel to the other side of the continent he is living at, Korelle. What give him motivation to do so is a photo and a tip that a person in the village he's aiming for, Karonte, is there and the fact he feels he'll find something there. Questions like "Who/What Am I?", "Why I was born like this?" are to be answered in the way. Maybe.

Of course in his way he will meet many people, friends, enemies, dangers and unexpected events also with good amounts of troubles.

Poor excuse for an adventure, trip, or just an unoriginal plot? (as if you even can call this) You decide.

The story is currently on its 69th chapter and ongoing, with most of it already planned. It is not anything that’s full of meaning and worth an award; it's just some casual writing and what I do on my free time.

Since I, Einherjar Leo, am the author of this story most things written here are the Word Of God. However as I’m still writing it every and anything here has high possibilities of changing too. Everything.

I write Odyssey in Five Lands merely for fun. I hope the readers can also enjoy it, though.

Tropes fitting the story I am currently making.
Greetings. My name is Mune Sasaki and I’m starting a log to record my travel. You may be asking “Who are you”? To be honest I am many things, most which I am not very proud of, but what I can say I am is that I’m a lovable snarker and you all are welcome to read the story of my life.
Chapter 0: Who am I? - First paragraph.

  • A Father to His Men - General Vincen Gedaliah, he treat each soldier of his unit like he would treat a brother or a son. Also he's widely known for going to great lengths to avenge his fallen companions; far enough to refuse direct orders from The Emperor and desert his unit to chase traitors or dishonorable officers.
    • General Zeres Silvar, she's one of most respected persons and The Emperor of Renelle's confident, she’s never lazy or shy about asking if someone is injured or with problems which may cause its own demise in battlefield. Zeres picked this habit because of the ruthless acts of her former General who would send even sick people to fight.
    • General Ienze Bartone, she is very known to study every aspect for her unit in order to maximize each one’s abilities during the battle and often wanders without armor or concealed between the barracks just to know keep her watch on possible deserters, traitors or someone needing to leave the unit temporarily for a good reason.
    • General Killio Sener. Feared by his enemy, respected by his army. Killio is the most known general of Heulwen due to his ability to use healing and protective magic on entire units thanks to his unique Aura Amplifier Cane. He uses this ability in order to avoid losing soldiers and help to treat the injured personally even after an arduous battle and refuses to take orders if he finds that the causalities to his unit will be too great.
  • A God Am I - Sezari Ielle done properly in the Floating Continent Archalia, which is often called by foreigners "Heaven".
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys – Averted with Eclair who is freaked only by the thought of dating Mune while she thought he was a delinquent.
  • All-Powerful Bystander – The pure-blooded Archalians. Luz can erase her own memories and show people their futures, Ciel can cure any wound no matter how bad it is but she can’t resurrect people, Ascension holds the power to erase one’s memories and restore them. Nevertheless they never use their powers unless the person who comes asking for it is really worth.
  • A Man Is Not a Virgin – Averted with Mune who in a random conversation with Sophitia and Chakra let slip he had never done before nor even kissed, hearing that made Sophitia enter in a comical Heroic BSOD and then broke into laughs much to his anger. Chakra only wondered why being a virgin is so bad, Mune thought that was not a problem after all he was a monk, but to break his morale Chakra said “I wasn’t born as a monk” meaning that even he got lucky with a girl before. However later, while dating Kaili, Mune blatantly said to Sophitia he wasn’t virgin anymore when the noble tried to make fun of him another time.
  • All Your Powers Combined – Mana, the ultimate element.
  • And the Adventure Continues - Until the Pathfinders come back from Cinqe.
  • Absurdly Sharp Blade – The Shin Zantetsu known to be the sword which can cut anything: Armor, weapons, flesh, soul, will and dreams. The biggest feat of this sword was to slice the gigantic wooden door of the d’Moserite Bastion to open way for the Pathfinders to face General Vargas. However the sword requires huge amounts of training to handle and a mind absolutely clean or else the sword will be just another fancy katana.
  • Achievements in Ignorance - Mune all the freaking time.
Mune: What is that “zero percent chance of success” you so much talk about? Oh, yeah. It’s actually the chance I had to lose for ya. Now you find weird how things can turn so suddenly don’t you?
  • Actual Pacifist – Kaili Lalasa, she can do some ravage with her elemental, but abhors violence and is always kept away from any dangerous situation.
    • The pure-blooded Archalians refuse to take any action against the Grand Archalians regardless of being strong enough to beat most of them to a pulp.
    • Alara Aylin, Luz taught her never to harm any living creature unless your life is at serious risk. Alara says she can fight, but is never seeing by anyone doing so, not even in trainings.
  • Affably Evil – Doyo Careates who started thieving because he needed the money to buy an expensive medicine to his daughter, Anita, who would die without it. He end up stealing Mune’s good and fighting him, but is quickly disarmed and grounded, after knowing his history Mune lend of the gems in his saber and let Doyo go.
    • Comante Kerista, who after a living of mild pilfering would end up hunchback after saving a kid from a burning orphanage, the kid in question is Luna who he raises as a thief to help him, he teaches her to steal, but never to kill or do anything of more serious consequences. He scolded Luna ruthlessly when she tried to murder Throne even knowing he was the one who set her home on fire.
    • Lob “Tuxedo” Treia, he’s very calm, polite, gentle and likes to play chess while drinking a cup of tea and buys expensive sweets to people who beat him in the chess game, not to mention he always encourages one to do better even after miserable failures. Also if you are short on cash he is the man to ask for some money. All those as long you aren’t one of his targets and even if you are he will try to talk to you to calm you down before anything and will make you “pass away” in the most painless way possible and even if you have a last wish or want to see someone before the service is done he will let you. He finds the word “death” utterly hideous and dreadful and hates it.
    • Sezari Ielle so much, she lends her home to tired travelers to rest and always gives them a very generous dinner while tell tales of the pure-blooded Archalians miracles and how she admires how well people from everywhere gather and live in Archalia. Also she is seemed teaching the Archalian kids how to fly and control their elementals and has the respect of their parents. However this is brutality subverted later on…
    • Maestrel Gallawood who in the firsts meeting with the Pathfinders is a very advise-giving honorable person who loves to hear other people talking and applaud them whenever he hears something he finds interesting. Yet this is again horribly subverted later on…
  • Air Hugging - Mune does this just to piss others around while he snarks about how beautiful love is and all sort of things often leading to people around think what the hell is wrong about him.
  • Alien Sky - In the continents Nahilus and Archalia.
  • Alternate History – Mune goes to Archalia after the events of his second travel to Drogen he goes alone to talk to Luz and wonder what would happen if he never started traveling in first place. Kurono would die fighting Tarvos, who would get arrested by Sarshek. Sophitia would lose her elemental powers to Nietto, who wouldn’t escape from being execute by Ramu’s guards, but she’d still live a simple but happy life alongside Lakas in Orele and they would have a son: Nero Lezito Foleste. Luna would assassinate Throne and become the second most wanted criminal of Korelle never ever being able to settle down for once in her life. Chakra would never leave Morianth and would prevent his father’s and even his own death. Cachaça would keep wandering around Korelle but never find anything about his past, in the end he’d settle at one village and lead a decent life there even marrying a woman and settling down for good. Ulani would live in the surroundings of Karonte helping Clarier and his daughter. Celestie would have been wandering around Korelle until the day she’d decide to go back to Drogen and live hidden somewhere in Lueius. Kaili would have never been created by Dr. Hustean and the homunculus who was made in the image of his daughter would live until die of old age just like a normal human. Zurko would never leave Drogen and would eventually become an Imperial General with Natasha as his most trusted officer in the battle. Eclair would suffer the same accident in the library falling from almost the top of a ladder but she’d lose the movements of her legs, still James would fall in love with her and marry Eclair, she’d never get back her respect of Lute or her parents, but would have the comfort of James’ family. Presea would never escape from the Grand Archalians but Livanos would always protect her from Sezari and both would eventually escape from Sezari’s grasp and leave to an unknown place, however not before stealing the Holy Lance of Longinus from Sezari and with this avoiding the slaughter of the other pure-blooded Archalians. Alara would live content serving and helping Luz alongside Karida who would adopt Alara as her daughter. If Mune had ignored Soldier he would have live in Probos a calm and simple life of farmer and vendor very seldom leaving his hometown and finally get married to Collete and have a son with her: Micah.
    • As for the continents, in Korelle the events of Yggdrail wouldn’t happen since Eclair would suffer an accident that would cripple her and also Korelle would never get involved with Drogen’s troubles. Drogen would still be at war and the Army of Lueius would fall with the temporary alliance of the three other empires. Archalia would still lose Ascension, but never wake up Overi Sobran since the battle against Sezari, what triggered his resurrection, was avoided. Nahilus would drift away to a place near Korelle. Cinqe would never have its curse break.
  • Anachronism Stew – Loads and loads. In fact, there is no specific age which the story takes part.
  • Anyone Can Die – And how. By the end from the Pathfinders the ones who are alive are: Mune, Luna, Kurono, Ulani, Zurko, Presea and Alara. And from the Revoltz Zan’el, Vontres and Solsorro dies before they settle at Karonte.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism - The Azure Academy believes in elemental spirits and a power beyond them, but not in the Nameless God which the all Crimson Order believes and put their faith and hopes in. This did lead a conflict between both organizations which almost turned into a small war.
  • Arcadia - It's believed to be a place where all races of the world live in peace is somewhere around Archalia, but no one has been able to prove its existence yet. In truth Arcadia is the continent known as Nahilus where there are no racism about any race of the world.
  • Armor-Piercing Question - From an anguished Kaili to everyone after the group was attacked and Cachaça got seriously wounded protecting her. Only Mune, who was already in love with her, had the nerve to answer.
Kaili: Please tell me!... AM I A BURDEN?!
Mune: Yes you are a burden. You are the heaviest burden I’ve ever had to carry on my shoulders. *goes close to her and weeps her tears* But you are a burden who I am willing to go on with because, being the light headed idiot I am, without you I’d just fly away losing the track of what I should follow, I need you to keep my feet grounded and walking until I find what I am looking for in this damned place. I need you to continue being the burden you are because it is being the pain you are that you who keep everyone smiling even with all problems here because you already learned how to live with this junk place. I only wish half of people here had a “burden” like you… If it were like that… I am more than sure this place wouldn’t have any wars in its existence.
    • Natasha asks one after defeating Maestrel Gallawood, at least before he summoned his inner demon.
Natasha: Tell me, how a demon like you feels experiencing pain, fear and defeat at the same time?
  • Arranged Marriage – Between Adiana Dante and Etro Zalasar between the first Time Skip. At first Adiana is uneasy with the idea of the marriage, but it turns out pretty well since Etro liked her since the Autumn Ball and so did Adiana. By the end they have a daughter: Lira Zalasar Dante.
  • Artistic License - Geography – Because I suck at geography thoughts, if you try to figure out the map of each continent you’d think I was on drugs when I wrote it. Or that I’m just THAT ignorant.
  • Aura Vision - The glasses Mune gain, after the first Time Skip, allows him, and about anyone who wears it, to see if one's elemental is active or has yet to react, with this he also can see the type of element the person has and start creating a strategy to counter it. However when he sees the elemental demons infused with the Generals of Lueius he gets plain terrified with the vision.
  • Asskicking Equals Authority - Hideki is one of most known fighters of Korelle because he defeated many, many opponents while traveling aiming to become the best fighter of the world. Even people who aren’t supposed to pay him any respect do so because of his fame.
  • Authority Equals Asskicking - The Imperial Generals of Drogen. The ranks of, most, Drogen military is determined by one's strength, elemental power, experience and reliability.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis - Sophitia can deflect any attack if she comprehends the feeling(s) which is driving her opponent to fight, with that ability she was even able to deflect Ovari’s spells with shocking ease.
    • Kurono is usually the one who comes up with a battle plan since he has the most experience in fighting entire bands of rogues with few people alongside.
    • Hideki is extremely fast thinking when in a battle, he can chance stances from defensive to offensive in about a second and deflect the weapon of the enemy making and taking advantage of the opening in the same second. He also learns the style of his opponents and changes the range of his weapons accordingly as soon as he sees himself in disadvantage.
    • Luna learned her fighting style by watching the guards of her village fighting, she can pretty well disarm any careless opponent and deal with someone times bigger than her.
    • Mune learns about anything in a single movement while fighting if he’s really serious about it. The major victims to this were Gungnir Vjaya, Dr. Hustean Jephunneh, Sezari Ielle, Maestrel Gallawood.
  • Ax Crazy – Raitos and Rognus Fleast.
  • Babies Ever After - Kurono and Ulani has a daughter: Marie Manami, a very energetic and cheerful Undine child who the only traits inherited from her father is shyness and nervousness around new people, like the father she has the ability of use two elements Lightning and Water, which one obviously causes a lot of trouble for her since her body is almost always humid.
    • Zurko and Presea has twins with her: a boy, Tarnin Agni, and a girl, Lilin Milliani. Tarnin is carefree and easygoing just like his mother and bears the wind element also like Presea. Lilin is caring and strong headed being more like her father while inheriting the Fire element of Zurko too. Both become great friends of Marie and later Emilia.
    • Mune and Lute has a daughter: Emilia de Luni, with her by the end, she inherits the curiosity of her father and the brashness of the mother, Emilia has the Arcane element leading to know like Eclair she had enormous potential for magic too.
  • Back from the Dead – The halo from the pure-blooded Archalians is supposed to do this, however no one had ever the chance of trying so.
    • Technically, Mune.
  • Back Story / Whole Episode Flashback - About everyone have one to tell their stories or past tales before they joined the group.
  • Badass Boast – About everyone has at least one:
    • Tuxedo has one which happens to be his greetings:
Lob "Tuxedo": Greetings. I am Lob Treia also known as the Tuxedo, and someone hired me so you could die peacefully.
    • Kurono delivers one to Bane Tate:
Kurono: I have vanquished hate, grieve and anger from myself already thanks to help of many people who always stood by my side even in the darkest moments. You who is the embodiment of grieve and hate will never understand what makes me strong enough to keep rising again and again. Now it is the time for you to feel true pain and despair by my lightning!
    • Hideki gives one to Alra Runa:
Hideki: after obtaining the Shin Zantetsu. I can cut through everything with this blade even your soul, but now I want to cut your dreams and hopes so you can see what it looks like and feel the same people from there felt. You won't die not until I want you to die.
    • Luna versus the resurrected Throne:
Luna: I am tired to see people sad because of people like you, power hungry fools who can do nothing but brig sorrow for this world. In the name of those whose lives you destroyed I shall do what any sane person would do.
    • Natasha fighting General Maestrel gives one to him as well.
Natasha: In this country, continent there is few we can do to protect the ones we love. But if I ever have the chance to do so I won't hold back. You who tried to harm the ones who I love and care, I'll make even the fallen ones feel sorry for you once I finish.
    • Karl versus Livanos:
Karl: Throw the whole damn world at me, it won't make difference. If I want you break I will break you
    • Before fighting Zan’el Elena Chakra gives one:
Chakra: Our struggle through life will never end no matter how hard we try. We will always have something to fight for be it grand or trivial. You who think that have surpassed this through throwing away all your feeling, emotions and humanity… You are wrong and now that I have motivation to fight you’ll have to struggle for the greatest thing that you have ever fought for: your own existence.
    • Elena Zan’el unmasked and at full power:
Elena: What is it you call fear? What is it you call anger? What is it you call despair? I lost those feeling long ago when I decided to find perfection. You can’t call me human, elf, draconian, archalian and neither a monster because I have no feelings. No matter what you say and do to me it will never have any effect, words are only words now and feeling have absolutely no meaning for me, the only thing that speaks for me now are my fists, the ones I will use to defeat you.
    • Diore does one as well against Overi.
Diore: People have many fears and gain more the more as they live on. You are no exception Overi Sobran, you told us you lived through ages more than we can expect to count and I am more than sure that you learned what fear is. I will teach you to fear us, mortals, when we combine our forces, I will teach you that even a demi-god cannot withstand the true strength of the mortals when they truly wish to live! You WILL fear us!
    • Mune gives one to Soldier when he blocked his way before entering in the empire of Koldobika.
Mune: Do you think that I care for consequences? Listen up punk, I don’t care who or what you are! If you dare to mess with people that I care you’d better be ready to fight someone who doesn’t fucking care of what happens to him afterwards!
    • Zeferio in a very rare moment where he breaks his silence.
Zeferio: Challenging me is an utmost foolish decision.
    • Karida when she fights Albus and Livanos together and they tried to break her with a Hannibal Lecture.
Karida: I know and I remember every single sin I've committed in my life, I will never atone for my crimes but I'll try so as much as I can and if you want to defy my belief I can only feel a sentiment of the purest pity on you. Now if you dare to try harm her in any way ever possible you should pray for whatever you believe in as I won’t show you any mercy.
    • Zurko once he starts fighting for real gives out one with his Red Baron codename.
Zurko: I am Zurko Agni, the Dragon Fang. I shall crave my fangs on your flesh and make you bleed not only blood, but pain and agony altogether.
      • Spoofed by Mune who being the Deadpan Snarker he is quirky answers his boast with such irony that even Zurko lost a bit of his composure.
Mune: Whoa, now that’s sounds unpleasant and rather unfriendly.
  • Badass Bookworm – Eclair de Luni when she decides to fight seriously.
  • Badass Longcoat - Mune get one when he fuse his power with Azure Pandora.
    • Hideki wears one when he goes to Drogen as his former armor wouldn't be able to keep him warm enough for the weather there, during Mune's second visit he still wears the same clothes, but all torn.
  • Badass Normal - People who have neither elemental abilities meaning they don’t have physical resistance above normal nor any other benefit the element would give to the user like tolerance to higher temperatures for fire-elemental users for instance.
    • Hideki Musashi, he's a man well armed for most situations, lightning fast with some great reflexes and very skilled with the toys he carries. The fact he can’t use any elemental power is why he can use the legendary Shin Zantetsu too.
    • Cachaça, he has a sharp sword, good reflexes and the weird ability of fighting better DRUNK than sober while making him even faster and unreadable.
    • Karl Ekitirios, who is a very skilled fighter and can take on opponents with elemental powers with no problem at all, he learned how to protect himself whenever needed and has enough strength to break the ground with a smash of the scabbard of his sword.
    • Slips Tosten, although he carries a pair of batons which can deflect elemental powers, he's just a cunning thief relying on his agility to get the upper hand in most fights.
    • Lieda Oremi, she can fight with many weapons and is a whole lot stronger than she appears also being very fast and not shy about punching a careless opponent in the face, she also learned tricks to deal with long range weapons and elemental powers in order not to stay in disadvantage.
    • Vicente Hoenuto, he's an experienced fighter and the captain of the Dante's manor guards and proved that he doesn't carry a spear just to show when he protected other employees while the place was getting raid and in many other past occasions.
    • Sarshek Ruren, he always carries handcuffs and tries to immobilize the opponents as fast as possible dealing the less quantity of pain possible, if even so that's not possible he has bombs ranging from stunning, blinding or explosives and a sword to deal with people trying to resist.
    • Rognus Fleast had his elemental powers ruined forever by Livanos, but he is still one of the most dangerous bandits of Archalia having killed many people who were far more powerful than him.
  • Bad Dreams - Lakas suffers from this constantly as he blames himself not for being able to save his sister.
    • Zurko has to take medicine to sleep without having nightmares about his past.
  • Bar Brawl - Almost always started by Cachaça who somehow manages to woo a committed woman every time, that went so far that his friends tend to keep him away from any woman he finds attractive in whatever place they are and used this peculiar thing of Cachaça to find a woman who had a quarrel with her husband and the guy was looking for her in a bar.
  • Battle Aura - Subverted. Usually there's something very wrong with the person who shows it.
  • Battle Butler - Mune when he was a servant of the Dante family. Also Rueto.
  • Battle Couple - Mune and Eclair.
    • Lakas and Sophitia.
    • Kurono and Ulani.
    • Slips and Karida.
    • Karl and Diore.
  • Battle in the Rain - A lot in Drogen, some in Korelle.
  • Becoming the Mask - Literally to Zan’el, Elena Zaner, who became unable to feel any emotion after wearing the Mask of Emptiness for a long time.
    • In Archalia Presea was sent by the Grand Archalians to keep her eyes on the movements of the Pathfinders, but she soon started to grow tender feelings for them as they welcomed her and whenever she was in danger one would save her skin. Bonus for Cachaça who threw himself from a cliff to save her despite knowing she could fly perfectly.
  • Berserk Button - Everyone has one that implies the same reason: Hurt "X" person that "Y" person likes and you're in for a rough ride. More specific, comedic, buttons are listed bellow.
    • Don't interrupt Mune's sleep or get his food or he can thank you by cracking a thunder on your face.
      • Call him "freak" and you've done it, you won't escape from a good blast of electricity or at very least a straight punch on your face. Also trying to harm any child close to him isn’t anywhere wise.
    • Don't make fun of Kurono's aesthetic taste for clothes or his spiky red hair.
      • Just try to talk anything close to ill of Kurono's family and he'll forgot he's supposed to protect people and will promptly beat you down and kick you while you’re laying wasted on the ground.
    • Speaking ill of Sophitia near Lakas isn’t very wise and vice-versa unless you are a very good friend of them.
      • Harm Sophitia in any way and you’ll feel the wrath of a bard, doing the vice-versa isn’t any wiser since the bard’s wife is very skilled with a rapier and can her elemental attacks are no joke either.
    • Jokes relating to thieves near Luna aren’t good idea, unless you want to get her mad at you.
    • Offering fish meat to Ulani is a bad idea unless you want to get lectured to respect life. Also don’t speak ill of the spear she hand crafted with care and love or she will poke you with it.
    • No matter what do not break Cachaça's canteen especially if it’s filled with his favorite drink, the result of this won’t be pretty.
      • Any other member of Cachaça's family aside of his sister and his elder brother mustn't call him by his real name or bad things may happen.
    • Say Lieda something like "Women should stay behind", "Women are weaker than men" and she'll lift a weapon times bigger than her and beat the crap out of you or immobilize you just to soon after demand you to shout something very embarrassing, refuse to do so and she may dislocate or break a bone or two.
    • Adelrei has a mild one which is calling her magic “black”, “dark” or worse “evil” magic, which the last being a bit more irritating for her, keep doing it and she may even harass you with some of her spells to get your mouth shut.
Adelrei: That’s ancient magic mind you. There’s a huge difference between black, dark and ancient magic and you should learn about them before you make me upset. Also don’t call my magic “evil” it’s discourteous you see.
    • Try to do anything bad to people under Diore’s watch, she won’t be any shy in using her powers to bring you into a world full of pain.
    • While not making her angry speaking ill of the color of her wings feathers will make Alara respect you less, avoid you and eventually completely ignore you since she is very proud and likes a lot of those coloring. Strangely enough make a bad comment of her malformed wing won’t have any impact on her other than having her to apologize.
    • Vontres' button happens to be offering anything alcoholic to him. It was only because of an outburst of rage while he was drunken that he spilled everything he knew about the corrupt corporate in his team and got himself banned while losing prestige and having his wife leaving him alone and taking his son with her which he would never meet again in his lifetime.
  • Beware the Nice Ones - Chakra is usually calm, advice giving and easygoing and fights bare handed always trying to deal the lesser quantity of pain possible, but if he ever sees people under his watch endangered be ready to fight a very well trained monk which not can only kick your ass with his hands tied but also can use his very own life and pain energy to deliver incredibly powerful attacks.
    • Ulani is an Undine who spend most of her time joking around her friends and asking for food and someone to carry her, but if you are to hurt people that are precious to her she won’t think twice before using her spear and water based spells. Piss her even further by hurting the person she latched on and she can create water balls which hits harder than rocks.
    • From all people there the most notable example is Lakas who very rarely put himself into a fight. But then Rognus had to mess with his wife... Result wasn’t pretty. Rognus was a bandit who would give even Chakra a rough fight, but as soon Lakas started fighting for real this turned to be a one sided fight which the bard used his elemental spells to massacre the bandit.
    • Luna is usually avoid fighting and clearly shows she prefer cooking rather than fighting, but then again seeing people she cares for in danger makes her forget her pacifist nature and fight without holding back. If one manage to anger her to the point of make her lose her mind she then will use devastating energy waves which can wipe out a house in a matter of seconds until the one in question is either grounded or dead.
    • Presea who is usually clumsy when flying at high speeds or downwards, but when Sezari messed with her friends she has shown that adrenaline and a bit of rage can make her very competent in those flaws at point of becoming nearly untouchable.
  • Big Bad – Even though Mune travels a lot he and his friends come across Big Bad only from time to time.
    • (Drogen) Land of Ceaseless Wars – Dr. Hustean Jephunneh.
    • (Archalia) The Floating Paradise – Sezari Ielle.
    • (Nahilus) The First Nahilian – Karatre Cereto.
    • (Korelle) Yggdrasil – Armele Kaati.
    • (Archalia) Dazzling Star – Overi Sobran.
    • (Cinqe) Where Time Stands Still – Knighter Sasaki.
    • (Drogen) Back to Warfare – General Maestrel Gallawood.
  • Big Brother Mentor - Knighter was this to Mune always protecting him and teaching him how to fight and hunt and also giving him some beating when he caused trouble around the village they lived. To make this trope complete, Knighter helped Mune when he was a kid and was being bullied by other people that called him "freak" because he could manifest his elemental.
    • Kurono also is this to Mune and people around him lampshades this. He would later admit he cares a lot for Mune because he is just like his young brother was.
    • Rotherdam to Cachaça. Rotherdam is Cachaça’s real brother.
  • Big Screwed-Up Family - Where to begin... The Karmas, Tebistas, Dantes, Carmillas, d’Moserites, De Lunis and for good’s sake the Gallawoods.
  • Bifurcated Weapon - Aside of his tonfas Hideki carries a staff which he can combine with his Tachi making a spear.
  • Big Eater - About everyone in the Pathfinders except for Sophitia, she even asks how the other girls can eat like that, without worrying properly about their weight. Ulani is the most notable example as even Mune who is the second who eats the most calls her “bottomless belly”, but it’s still somewhat justified since she hibernated 6 years streak she has to eat a lot to compensate all this time she spent sleeping.
  • Bow and Sword in Accord - Zeferio Bo, his swords and daggers still serves as an emergency arrow and he carries at least three of them.
  • Black Magic - Adelrei states they are divided like elemental magic. Darkness, shadow and gravity are the most known types, but there are also necromancy and mind-soul types which are strictly forbidden and banned from Korelle, Archalia and Nahilus. Adelrei uses Ancient magic which is a mix between aura and darkness, but not even remotely as dangerous as the pure darkness magic.
  • Blade on a Stick - Hideki's optional weapon he makes by attaching his tachi on an end of his three-section-staff.
    • Ulani's weapon of choice is a spear she made herself with corals and crystals she found while swimming around Karonte.
    • General Zeres uses a Bec de Corbin as her main weapon.
    • Also Gungnir's main weapon.
  • Blank Slate - Kaili starts like this having absolutely no memories of her past or any social skill at all and she stays quiet and speaks to no one until she meets Mune who at time is the only person she feels safe to speak for some reason.
  • Blood Knight - Not surprisingly there are tons of this in Drogen, a land purged by wars.
  • Bloodstained Glass Windows – The last fight against Gungnir Vjaya is held at the Vasilii Church.
Gungnir: They know why we are fighting now...
Mune: Good. So they know why I am going to kick your ass.
    • The last fight against the Grand Archalians to protect Luz and Ciel and Ascension is held at the spacious Majestic Cathedral in the very center of Archalia.
  • Blue Blood - Almost every leader of a village and town are treated like lesser ranks of nobility followed by the ones who serves directly to the royal family until the ones who represent the royalty itself.
  • Break the Badass – No matter how strong you are, how badass you’ve proven to be (unless you did in that place) being told to go to Drogen is the best way to break the tough attitude of anyone. Drogen is a continent where about 95% of it is under a ceaseless war between the four massive empires that is raging for centuries and is known to kill more innocent people in the cross-fire than enemies. The fact the most powerful mortal beings are living there and fighting themselves and that they can, and some, purposefully, will, mistake you for the enemy don’t help much either.
    • In Archalia Sezari did this to Zurko, a man considered very dangerous in Drogen, after curb stomping Mune like he was nothing and nearly killing him with a single spell. Zurko was terrified with such power even after living over half of his age in the flames of war and fighting enemies that could easily destroy entire cities in a matter of hours. It was the very first time Zurko ever showed some fear and the only thing he could do is rescue Mune and aid in the run for his and the Pathfinder’s lives.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy – Mune, lampshaded numerous times by people around him.
Zurko: That kid is a gifted one, he could learn almost anything he wants if he decides to focus on it. However more than it took me to believe this fact I find harder to see that someone like him is possibly the laziest person I’ll ever meet while I’m alive.
  • Brought Down to Normal - Dr. Hustean Jephunneh just when he needed his power the most.
    • Mune to Kaili and himself in "The extinction of Magic", he did so by trapping himself in a room full of “Elemental Diminishers” which caused their elemental to wear out to prevent Kaili from killing herself from overusing her vital aura after she had a breakdown knowing she was created from remnant of other souls.
  • But Your Wings Are Beautiful - The only thing Luz doesn’t like about herself is her seraph wings which everyone glorifies.
    • Presea says this to Alara even though the other knows she finds her wing a bit disturbing.
  • Cain and Abel - Vladmir and Richter Dante, they do get better thanks to Adiana, though.
  • Call to Adventure – Mune decided to travel not only to find the whereabouts of his biological parents, but to understand his elemental powers and to try to find his missing adoptive brother Knighter.
    • After Mune became an Azure Scholar he decided to travel around Korelle again because Eclair wanted to know more about the world.
Eclair: I wish we could go to travel around Korelle and known its many places…
Mune: So you never traveled before? Not even to another village or city?
Eclair: I’ve actually never left Belgemine even once in my life…
Mune: So! You want to know Korelle? Then pack your things up, we leave tomorrow, I’m full of this place anyway. And why stick just to Korelle, let’s find out what this world has for us.
Eclair: I-is that so? I mean, don’t you need to think over it a bit more?
Mune: What do I have to think about it? I like to walk, I have your company and this routine is driving me insane. To be honest with you I wanted to leave here as soon as I graduated, but I stayed just because I enjoyed your company.
  • Calling the Old Man Out - Eclair de Luni when she saw the same thing that she went through happening with her sister Lute. This is when Lute definitely starts acting sweet towards her sister and even Mune because it was thanks to him Eclair had the courage to rise against her parents in first place. Eclair was definitely banished from her family after that, but then Mune took her and said she could be called Eclair Sasaki from now on.
    • Cachaça, Rokefort, to his father, General d’Moserite when he knew what he did to become an Imperial General and another when he fights him in the d’Moserite Bastion, his home, this time also knowing he killed his own son Rotherdam, Rokefort’s brother, because he was about to uncover his corruption scheme around Renelle and Koldobika.
  • Calling Your Attacks - Somewhat justified, the Kiai is used to enforce one's elemental and then make the attack more powerful by focusing on it. Also people usually use their attacks before the shout. Moreover, to cast stronger spells, most when it requires the help of elemental spirits or even summon one, reciting words asking for their aid is a must.
    • Kurono had no need to use to call his attack, Impact, when he defeated Vontres.
    • Parodied with Mune who shouted when punching through a magic boulder.
      Mune: FREAKIN'-NORMAL-PUNCH!!!
  • Cannot Spit It Out – Mune couldn’t find the words to express how much he was in love with Kaili and after many times trying to find what to say Kaili took the lead and said everything for him too.
  • Can't Argue with Elves - This freak out everyone in the Pathfinders, but Mune is the only who actually chews out the elves because of this.
  • Can Not Tell A Lie – Presea Milliani. Subverted since she was sent by the Grand Archalians to keep her eyes on what the Pathfinders were doing, so this virtue was simply faked in order to her gain their trust.
  • Can't You Read The Sign? – Mune who frequently picks fights when he is studying at the Azure Academy more often uses his elemental powers to get rid of bullies especially under blatant big signs with “Elemental magic strictly forbidden outside the training fields”.
  • Cast Herd - Mune's traveling companions: the Pathfinders.
    • Karl's mercenary group: the Revoltz.
  • Celibate Hero - Kurono just don’t feel like dating someone after a series of failed dates, the guy just need to find the right girl. And he does.
    • Zurko due a bad romantic experience in his past.
    • Mune later for two very good reasons. Because not only he felt horribly responsible for Kaili’s death and it took years and the help of his friends for him to get over it. And then when he meets another girl and finally decides to give his feelings another chance he end up having to kill her in order to save his homeland
    • Karl is not interested in romantic issues until he gets everything he has to done.
    • Vontres thinks he’s too old for things such as love.
  • Character Focus - The story centers a lot on Mune for the firsts segments, but as soon he starts going to Drogen for the first time it focus a lot more on the other people telling their pasts, aspirations and dreams also a lot more about what and how they feel towards everyone.
  • Character Development – Everyone in a way or another gets this even if it is a slight change on them.
    • After Mune spent a good time at Dante’s manor while taking care of Nell most his friends noticed he matured a lot more being able to wake up early and being a lot less slacker.
    • Adiana who grew confident and strong after Mune helped her deal with her oppressed feelings during the time he was working for her to the point she would take the lead in the negotiations of her family and help her brothers in diverse situations showing not interest or pity, but understanding and kindness. Once Richter met again with Mune before he parted to Drogen for the first time he asked how he did make her become another person and after a heartwarming answer he rapidly thanked Mune for taking care of Adiana.
  • Character Magnetic Team - Mune so damn much. He starts traveling alone but soon meets a person who decides to follow him and another who wants to follow the person who just joined and one more person who wants to travel with a person who's already in the Pathfinders and it keeps going. Mune himself lampshades calling this an "unexpected luck" since he hates being alone, though he prefers this than stay with someone he dislikes.
  • Chaste Hero - Somewhat averted. Mune is simply shy, Kurono waiting for the right person, Lakas married to Sophitia, Chakra is a monk, Cachaça bad with women and Zurko had a very bad romantic experience in the warfare.
    • A female example is Luna, the fact she lived most of her life running and hiding from humanity doesn't help much making her very Oblivious to Love. Sophitia often tries to help her with this.
  • Cheerful Child – Nell even when she had a bad fever kept smiling and playing around.
    • Anita is also very upbeat while playing with her elemental powers especially when showing off them to Mune and Eclair.
    • Kurono told that Leena, his younger sister, used to be one, while speaking of her he told a remembrance he had that one day she was so excited to go to a festival happening near Kalista that she just kept bouncing on his bed asking him to take her there and that annoyed him so much he threatened to tell their mom she broke her favorite vase if she jumped only once more on his bed, it worked like a miracle.
    • Emilia is a curious fireball always running from her home to the Azure Academy, only Pandora has energy enough to watch over her without breaking a sweat.
  • Chef of Iron - Luna and Sophitia are these for the Pathfinders. Kurono and Mune would become eventually when they learn how to cook.
    • Slips can cook as well as he can steal, also Vontres is pretty good at it. Lieda tries, but fails a lot.
  • Chekhov's ArmyAll independent nations Mune went through and made friendships went to his aid when the Lueius Empire had him and his friends cornered with what was left of the Renelle’s army. That and thanks to the influence of his parents too.
  • Chekhov M.I.A.Knighter, Soldier, Joel, Clarissa, Lina and the list goes on...
  • Chekhov's Skill – Mune’s animal tracking skills came in handy when Kurono was after the band which raided his hometown. Mune would use the same thing for diverse other purposes as finding Anita who fled to a nearby forest after arguing with a teacher in the Azure Academy.
  • Chekhov's GunmanA freaking load of them too. Starting with: Dr. Kayres, Doyo, Shiro Silvar, Lisa, Eclair (in the Autumn Ball), Idero... And it’s far from over.
    • Zeres is a very notable one, she first appears as a regular commoner and gave the tip to the Pathfinders how to cure Ulani’s illness only later she would reveal herself as an Imperial General from Heulwen.
      • Zeres’ son and Mune-look-alike, Shiro Silvar, is also one appearing in a photo Mune took in the beginning of his travel only to know much later who that person really was. What’s curious about it is that some of Shiro’s past actions helped Mune like helping Clarier to get to Karonte.
  • Child Prodigy - Rumi Aminata, she's an intelligent kid who knows the variant of the usual Alchemy, Mystic Alchemy. She can create things that go boom and make a lot of ravage, poisoning and suffocating gases not to mention the "Drops of Veracity". Everything if she has the right ingredients. Additionally She managed to create the legendary Panacea once which saved Mune's life too.
    • Sagira Veltro is a 13-year kid who fights pretty well he is also Hideki's apprentice and is traveling around Korelle with the same aspirations of his master.
    • Zale Eliar is a gifted pure-blooded human who can use black magic having only 9-years, he's constantly treated like a menace, but even so he still smiles and keep going.
    • Rune de Luni, she learns anything with unbelievable speed and has great skills with her Lightning elemental.
  • City of Canals – Mekaravis and Hesperos in Drogen.
  • Climbing Climax – During the final floors of Yggdrasil in order to reach the core of the Mother tree of Korelle.
  • Clothing Damage - Usually this makes people who don't wear armors walk with rags, though Mune doesn't really seem to care to Sophitia's dismay. He started travelling with rags which Luna tried to repair after it nearly got totally wrecked after he got caught in a sandstorm.
    • Luna, Lakas and Kurono usually take care of sewing the damaged clothes while they don't get to a town or village to leave their clothes in a tailor, or when they don't have enough money for it.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander - Ulani, Presea and Nell. Lakas is a bit of this too and Cachaça is one when he's drunk.
  • Competitive Balance - The Elements:
    • The Mario - Aura. No known weakness and great overall usage for short to half distances with naturally balanced attacks in terms of power and speed, whenever used for defense it can be very effective too by creating spiral orbs to guard its user. The drawback with this element is the fact the user must build it up by either focusing or fighting also must dealing with the fatigue of its powers and the fight too more than any other element. *
    • Fragile Speedster - Wind. It gives the owner the ability to run and jump fast and ease the speed of falls too although the same ability can be turned against the user if not used properly. It is mostly a defensive element great to create protective shields, change trajectory of arrows and even other elemental attacks, but when used for attacks it can create tornadoes to blow away enemies with strong force or make air pressures enough to break stones and bones on the impact. Wind is also known for having excellent healing powers too being the third strongest and most efficient losing only to Water and Holy. *
    • Lightning Bruiser - Lightning. It has unbelievable fast attacks and causes a lot of pain, also can be used to shock the own user and raise its physical abilities as long it is controlled. If it must be used for defense it can create very powerful barriers that can be spread and thrown causing even more ravage. In trade for such power the Lightning tires out the user faster than any other element making it a high risk, high reward type. *
    • Glass CannonFire. It is the most devastating element, yet is the one of that takes less effort to use making it even more dangerous in long fights and the incredible amount of usage for offense and the sheer pain it causes makes this element very dreaded among the others ones, people usually facing an opponent handling the Fire element ought to be extremely careful. Still its severe lack for defense can make it impractical against some well trained opponents and is the most known element to harm its own user if used inappropriately. Nevertheless Fire also can be used to heal wounds, but it takes solemn control and discipline to do so. *
      • Darkness. Used mostly for merciless and cruelly powerful spells it only loses to speed to Lightning it’s very known for having vast usage and incredibly versatility for offense as much for it’s nearly total lack for defense. However its offensive power mostly makes up for the lack of defensive usage. Regardless just like the Fire element, Darkness can also be used for healing magic as much effective as Holy, Wind or Water, but since its firepower is so great few people tries to master this art. *
    • Mighty GlacierHoly. The noblest element known mostly by its vast defensive capabilities being able to protect entire groups or separate people on the user’s choice, shields created with the power of Holy are nearly indestructible with a very low cost for the user. Even though the attacks of this element are fast to cast they are usually very slow and highly telegraphed, but can be as strong as Darkness ones. The Holy element is mostly known for its low cost yet highly effective healing capacity, second only to Water, and the natural advantage against dark creatures. *
    • Stone Wall - Ice. Used mainly for defense raising powerful barriers and shattering them to make icicle used at offense is the most common tactic. It is not very reliable when used purely for offense since it has the longest casting time. The Ice element is known for being as much powerful as the Fire one, but immensely harder to use and master. A person living in hot weather continents such as Korelle or Archalia has even a harder time in order to train the element. *
    • Ditto Fighter - Arcane. It can be empowered with any other element if it wins a clash for stronger effect also cancelling any immunity the user has to its own element turning the Arcane magic extremely dangerous. Alone it works more like Aura being very balanced in terms of attack, speed and defense but still having a higher cost of usage. *
    • Confusion FuEarth. The user can unshackle any chunk of soil, rock and use against the opponent, even if it means lifting a boulder under the enemy’s feet and throw it away or shatter a rock meters away from the opponents eye’s and throw against it or even raising a rock and exploding it to create a rain of rocks. The cast however takes time to use, almost as long as the Ice element, and the attack is seriously telegraphed worse than the Holy elemental so the user relies heavily on the element unpredictability in order to land any attack. *
      • Shadow. A distinct variant of Darkness magic. It can manipulate any shadow for attacks or defense making the prediction of the next attack almost impossible for untrained people. *
    • Joke Element / What Kind of Lame Power is Water anyway - Water. About any person who sports and can use this element uses it for healing purposes since having it either for offense or defense requires an unpractical amount of training only to be used as a less effective manner of the Earth. *
      • Water is an Awesome Power – The water element has the most powerful healing proprieties, overcoming even the Holy element, making a user with good power vital for long battles since it can heal wounds that would take days to heal normally in a few seconds. Also there’s the fact water can hit as hard as a rock if used properly not to mention causing a tsunami in the middle of a desert can be unpleasant for unprepared opponents.
    • Game Breaker - Mana. The unison of all elements which can be used to cure or kill is also as know as the “Ultimate Element”. *
  • Continuity Nod – Lots of these around.
    • The gems of Mune’s saber he gives to people to help in need he prefers to leave the saber without them. Noticeable after Adiana repaired his saber and he pops out the gem he previously gave to Doyo so he could buy an expensive medicine to his daughter. He then gives the gem to Adiana who makes two rings out of it and gives one to Mune after he comes back from his first trip to Drogen. Until the end of the story he gives out five out of eight gems craved in his saber.
    • The red-pinkish stone Kurono finds after defeating the golem Emet at Emiaros is passed down to Luna, who then passes to Mune (giving it the name of Star Memento) who gives to Rumi so she can present to Nell and is given back to Rumi which its dust is finally is used to create the legendary Panacea at Drogen and after that is settled down with Nell who gains the power to Dreaming of Things to Come while he wears it.
    • Mune trades his Emerald Leaf Bracelet he crafted after shortly departing from Orele with Luna for her Star Memento. Luna treasures it and is almost always wearing it.
    • Lakas’ robe when he reunites with the group before going to Drogen the first time is made with the clothing Mune and Luna bought together at the Scarlet festival, he sewed it with the help of Sophitia.
    • Hideki finds a musical stone that Mune bought with a song Luna likes lost in Arad. He would give it back upon his meeting with the Pathfinders in Drogen.
  • Convenient Slow Dance - Adiana dances with Mune after the Masquerade Ball ends, and everyone had already gone home, to thank him for everything he did so the ball could be a success.
  • Cooking Duel - One at Dante's manor between Kalei and Lilka.
  • Cool Big Sis - Surprisingly Lina is this to Mune, he even states he hates people who ditch women thinking they can do less than men, after all Lina always took care of Mune back when he was a troublesome kid. This is also subverted since Lina is younger than Mune.
    • Sophitia acts like this towards Luna who she is constantly trying to get to be more feminine and less stoic, tomboyish.
    • Adelrei to Lieda. Lieda is always trying to be calm and mature like Adelrei is, but the elf always says she should be herself and enjoy that part of her life where she can be laidback and carefree as much as she wants.
    • Karida towards Karl much to everyone’s surprise. Karl would admit only when the group settles at Karonte that Karida resembles a lot, in personality, his late elder sister.
    • Rumi to Nell, she wants to help her sister not even knowing how to spell and talk very well.
    • Ulani actually asks Celestie to be her sister after she warmed up to the group, the elf is kind of embarrassed with such request, but seeing, and thinking, how young Ulani is Celestie accepts this.
    • Nell to Emilia in an odd case. Ever since Mune took care of Nell in the Dante Manor Nell looked him as a parental figure and when Emilia was born she didn’t think twice before starting call her sister in which Emilia reciprocates the feeling calling Nell big sister.
  • Complete Monster - Throne Tebista, he killed his own mother to get the command of the place he was living at then to started to charge abusively high taxes leading to the slow decay of his village just to build his personal army of mindless dolls willing to start an internal war in the continent and until Luna and Comante found out his plans and convinced Mune and his friends to help her. He burned down every place and killed anyone who tried to oppose him. One of these places was an orphanage and he did it laughing. Throne committed suicide before Luna could reach him which made her a bit upset. He’d come back revealing that he didn’t die at that time, but used a serum which made him go into a state of “comatose rigor mortis” just to come back years later as a very strong warrior with elemental attacks and was planning to do everything over again starting by killing his sister, Itusi, and taking over the place again and start a new army.
    • From the first travel to Drogen there is Doctor Hustean Jephunneh. He created the homunculus Kaili Lalasa and used her just to get his "revenge": Mune feel in love with her and he was so certain he would get involved deeply with her that he gave her a medium-short life span, he wanted Mune to suffer with the lost. To twist the knife further he said she was a pure failure and was grossed just to think he created her, in front of Mune. All this because he hated Mune's biological parents who banished him from the Renelle's empire after they discovered and exposed to the entire empire that Hustean used humans, undines and elves as guinea pigs for his mad experiments, and thus making him lost everything: wife, children and reputation. He wanted Mune to taste what is lost something you really care for and how he really accomplished this and he clearly said if Kaili had failed in getting Mune's attention then he would have created another homunculus until one managed to do what Kaili did. To add more insult Hustean could cure Kaili and give her strength enough so she could live about as much as a normal human would, Mune came across Hustean before knowing everything and begged for help who Hustean coldly negated and everything contributed to Mune's wrath when he faced Hustean again. Thought it couldn't be worse? Kaili was created to be a company to Hustean, a clone made out of the memories of his own daughter, and he shortened his own daughter's life span just to get revenge on Mune.
    • From Archalia Sezari Ielle after you consider every person she brainwashed and has under control by threats and Mind Screw not to count the numerous people she murdered or ordered to be while she was trying to locate the Longinus and after she found it she had to test it on another Archalians. Just to throw salt to the injuries she was responsible for the death of two other pure-blooded Archalians: Ascencion and Ina (long before the Pathfinders got to Archalia), not to mention Celestie died after she ordered an attack to test a copy of Longinus on Ciel and they got very close to killing her on that attack.
    • In the second visit to Drogen it is revealed another one: Maestrel Gallawood. Even other empires generals fears him and they have a good reason for it. Maestrel seems to be a charismatic leader but he keeps his troops loyal by terrifying them, he is very manipulative and was the one who forced the Lueius' Emperor to force every other general to have a demon or spirit forcefully infused with them; he also killed Shiro as he discovered his conspiration and made it look like it was a tragic accident that even General Zeres wouldn't discover. To top that he was the responsible for a failed project trying to copy the Chosen Nemesis that wiped and entire region from existence.
      • Like father, like son. Damon Gallawood, Maestrel’s father, used his own son in his experiments and put his very own kid, which was very kind and generous like his mother at the time, under brutal training sessions to put his body to its very limits and make him grow strong enough so he could bear the pain of an elemental demon infusion and control it. When he thought Maestrel was strong enough he sacrificed his own wife in a very macabre ritual front of Maestrel, who was still a kid, and forcefully infused a superior demon into Maestrel’s body which caused to him lose what was left of his sanity. The first thing Maestrel did with his new power was promptly kill Damon in the most gruesome way he thought at the time: making his inner demon eat him alive bits my bits avoiding vital organs.
  • Corrupt Church - The Vasilii, leaded by Gungnir Vjaya.
  • Courier – This is Luna’s job after she returns from Drogen for the first time. Thanks to her agility and stamina gifts from the draconian blood antidote she received there and her proficiency in fighting she is one of the highest ranked couriers of Belgemine and earns decent money from her job which she takes a great liking.
  • Crash into Hello - Mune and Eclair upon their second meeting in the Azure Academy. Mune don’t recognize her until later, though.
  • Crossing the Desert - The Morianth is a desert region of Korelle full of bandits and natural traps, naturally it has desert bandits and some creatures lurking in it. Later Mune and Eclair would know that Morianth were grasslands once and it was made a desert because several meteors had fallen in the place. Some villages were built around these meteors and during the construction people discovered mysterious reddish-pink stones which their dust can be used as an ingredient for the Panacea.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass - Lakas Foleste. He's a Cloud Cuckoolander bard, the group's pacifist and Friend to All Living Things and always looked like a coward afraid of putting himself in dangerous situations. However he is a very skilled elemental user and uses his music to manipulate wind and earth and can cause a lot of ravage if he wants.
    • Mune is this to anyone who doesn't know him. He's mostly bratty, sarcastic and apathetic when bored, explosive at times and almost never take anything seriously and tease every single person he meets. Absolutely no people who look upon him think he's able to use elemental powers and fight decently.
    • Presea Milliani she is very skilled in air combat and using her elemental abilities even though she hates fighting. Even Sezari who thought she was harmless changed her opinion after Presea disarmed her from the Holy Lance while that weapon could easily kill her with a single scratch.
    • Ulani Manami is usually very bubbly, ditzy and is always glomping some of her friends before asking if one can carry her and always sleeps after feeling safe enough while being carried just like a baby. What one must feel to believe is that not only she is very skilled at fighting with her spear she made with corals and dumped gems at seashores; she is even stronger when it comes to use her water elemental attacks which can easily break even rocks if she’s angry enough.
  • Cultured Badass - Chakra is a Korelle guide as he already traveled all over around it and is always explaining and telling tales of the place the groups goes from time to time.
    • Eclair de Luni, she knows a lot about places she had never visited, such as Archalia for instance, because she reads a lot and end up memorizing maps and histories of everywhere.
    • Mune to a lesser extent after his graduation, he would know a lot more of elemental auras and artifacts related to them more even than Eclair.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle - Hideki vs. Mune. The fight went well until Hideki pulled the I Am Not Left-Handed thing and beat Mune with a single attack. Mune knew it was going to be like that but even so he wanted to fight to see if he did get any closer to his friend. He eventually catches up to him and gives out a good fight before going back to Korelle from Drogen for the first time.
    • Adelrei managed to defeat Chakra with only two spells while the monk barely landed an attack on her. Chakra had given Mune and Kurono a hard time while the two fought him together.
    • Hideki vs. ALL Revoltz. It's worth noting most of them were already injured from the last battle with the Pathfinders in Verbate, but still he simply beat the crap out of them with a pair of tonfas, made even more humiliating for Zan’el who was in top condition but still was beaten nearly to a pulp by him.
    • Vladmir vs. Richter. Vladmir is clearly superior to his brother in combat skills, so much he barely broke a sweat and in a "Noble's duel" he'd have killed his own brother weren't for Adiana and Mune's interference.
    • Mune when he first fought Zurko was defeated with so much ease even his friends were scared. Zurko thrashed the living shit out of Mune only with a single iron glove while the other was armed with his sword and using his elemental powers. Subverted by the fact Zurko knew that he wasn’t fighting seriously at all and he knew if he were to fight him in a real match he wouldn’t be so sure he’d won.
    • Mune vs. Sezari Ielle, the leader of the Grand Archalians. Mune rushed and used his most powerful attacks just to get them single-handed blocked by his opponent’s weapon and then was nearly put in a state of coma with a Holy element spell. Ouch.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl - Eclair, she once destroyed the entire library she works and only wasn't fired because her family is influential and she would have done that twice weren’t for Mune who helped her in time.
Mune: Seriously lady, you should REALLY think about attaching this ladder or at least moving it before you try to catch a book from another shelf! That was the second time you almost screwed up things!
    • Presea is pretty bad when it comes to landing, so she end up always using someone to “soften” the impact. The target person isn’t very pleased to that usually.
  • Cute Mute - Nell in the beginning as she barely knew how to speak properly until Mune and Kimi taught her.
    • Anita due to a side-effect of the medicine she took to her sickness. She got, a lot, better later.
    • Kaili who wouldn’t talk to anyone of the Pathfinders until Mune went to do so.
  • Daddy Had A Good Reason For Abandoning You - Upon the reunion of Mune and his parents Libeto and Amelia Myreketti they explain why they've sent Mune to Korelle in first place. During the campaign they made a lot of enemies and soon started being hunted and target by many and it took a lot to fake their deaths. While they were running both were sure it would be impossible to protect them and Mune so Libeto begged for Soldier to take Mune away where no one would find him. In the end Libeto and Amelia also tell Mune his real name: Milanor Myreketti.
  • Dances and Balls – One at the Dante Manor, the Autumn Ball.
    • The Winter Lights Party and the Graduation Ball of the Azure Academy.
    • There is also the Renelle’s Gala celebrating the truce between Renelle, Lueius and Koldobika.
  • Dandere - Kaili was shy and quiet until she started talking to Mune.
  • Dark and Troubled Past - Mune in the past, he was a delinquent that caused all sorts of trouble through Probos with his friend Cobita. One time they were fleeing from guards of another village after stealing some money, but they still got cornered. Mune in a desperate moment manifested his elemental power for the first time killing all guards. Cobita told Mune to run and that he'd take the culprit for this, but after he did that he was hanged, people would later discover that Mune could use his elemental and label him as a freak making him isolating himself until he met Hideki.
    • Celestie had her entire family deceased by the "Elf's Pandemic" and had to learn how to live all by herself, the fact she is half-human-elf doesn't help either as neither of races wants her nearby. Her feeling of loneliness was tormenting her so much she decided to travel as a clandestine in a ship to Korelle, she got to the place sound and safe but couldn’t show herself in public and started wearing a hood to avoid being detected as an half-elf. For years she would keep traveling from place to place searching for random knowledge and doing good deeds in secret being know as the “Hooded Guardian”, but even so her feeling of sadness wouldn’t go away.
    • Adelrei, an obscure elf, lost her parents very early in her life. Her mother was affected by the same "Elf's Pandemic”, but she was killed by humans who thought obscure elves meant nothing but bad omen, her father died protecting her and Adelrei, who managed to escape. She roamed aimlessly through Korelle and due to her obscure elf nature even spirits were afraid of approaching her until one day some of them felt such pity on her they decided to guide Adelrei to a nomad settlement of elves. Adelrei learned about everything about magic in that place where she wasn’t discriminated, but even so she decided to keep her half-human linage in a secret. One day the "Elf's Pandemic" got into the settlement and Adelrei let slip she was half-human, the elves banished her and to top it blamed her for that sickness. Once again Adelrei was alone and kept traveling around Korelle helping as much as she could while being chased like an animal by humans.
    • Slips Tosten, his parents were executed in a unfair judgment accused of stealing relics of the Azure Academy, Slips almost suffered from the same fate, but was "saved" by a man, just to be made a slave and being abused in all ways possible. This lasted until Karl's father freed him and arrested the man, he would later invite Slips to travel with him and become part of the Revoltz, where he befriended everyone he met. Nonetheless Slips' past still haunts him and he still grieves for his parents in secret.
    • Presea never met her parents and lived most of her life thieving food and clothes around Archalia with few other abandoned children. One day the Grand Archalians noticed her skill at flying and forced her to do scout jobs, when she refused they killed every person she liked in front of her and threatened to clip her wings off. From that day on she has been spying on the Third Sphere with no suspicion at all.
  • Darker and Edgier - The chapters which takes place on Drogen. From that point on Anyone Can Die.
  • Dark Is Not Evil - Adelrei uses dark magic not only to fight, but to heal her partners too.
  • Darkest Hour – After a desperate fight to protect Renelle’s treasure, the Life Core, from the Human Elite of Lueius they manage to expulse them, but bad news: Lueius' MAIN army which is far bigger and has numerous war machinery and Eldritch Abomination showed up and is almost at Renelle's capital and the Pathfinders are stuck there having absolutely no way to escape without facing the enemy, what’s left of Renelle’s forces are exhausted and wounded leaving not even the slightest thinking of the chance of winning the battle. The reinforcements are times late and won’t make it to the capital in time without a miracle.
  • Day In The Life - Several chapters show Mune and his friends doing "normal" jobs to earn money as well the Revoltz when they aren't being chased by the law, that is.
  • Deadpan Snarker – Nearly everyone have their moments of snarkiness from time to time.
  • Deadly Upgrade - The Life Core and the Sinner's Fragment.
  • Decoy Protagonist - Mune. The story centers a lot on him for the first parts, but after getting to Drogen for the first time all of his other friends get a lot more attention often leaving him off-screen or without any dialogue for an entire chapter at times.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen and Kings – Kurono at first acted cold and distant from Mune and everyone else, but from time to time he started to open and tell more and more about himself while showing without shame how much he cares for the well being of his friends.
    • Sophitia is a lesser case since she was only being snobbish because she was traveling around plebeians. The situation lasted until Lakas talked some sense to her.
    • Vontres Sera towards the Revoltz in the beginning, only after Lieda and Slips helped him with past issues he decided to stick to the mercenary band without caring for what he was.
    • Adiana Macha Dante, it took Mune some time talking to her until Adiana realized she could trust him and started to approach him in order to avoid losing another person she liked.
    • Celestie Fimbulvetr who would isolate herself numerous times until that pissed Mune so much he gave her a noogie which made her think what the heck was wrong with him; he then said Celestie was part of the “family” that she shouldn’t go away avoiding everyone and she could trust everyone like everyone trusted her. After that Celestie stopped isolating herself other than if the situation was embarrassing for her.
    • Eclair de Luni was like this towards Mune. In his first months he spent at the Azure Arts Academy, she would start talking to him only after knowing what he had been through at Drogen, especially about Kaili’s death, and that Mune was just lazy and short-fused who never actually started a fight with no reason at all. There’s also the fact Mune recovered a very precious book, with stories she used to read to make Lute sleep, which was stolen by bullies and he took it back just because it was from Eclair’s.
    • Lute de Luni, after her sister dared her parents for her and got banished from her family for good Lute stopped being a jerk towards her (and Mune) and showed the much more sweet and simple person who she was before everything.
  • Death by Childbirth - Sophitia's mother died shortly after giving her birth.
  • Deflector Shields - Adelrei, Celestie uses their staff to reflect most of elemental powers back to the user if he/she is less skilled than them.
    • Sophitia uses the knowledge about her opponent to do this with a small help of her cape.
    • Mune and Karl simply does this by kicking or punching the magic back at its rightful owner.
    • Slips can bash the magic back to the user with his weapons which are made especially to do so.
  • Defusing the Tyke Bomb - Luz to Karida. Karida was trained by Sezari to the perfect weapon against the pure-blooded Archalians and she tried countless times to kill Luz by stabbing, blasting, slashing her and such. Nevertheless Luz always forgave Karida and attempt after attempt she started to wonder why she wasn't like the other who grieved and hated her. When she had a weapon made with the lance of Longinus and was about to really kill Luz she saw that Luz had prepared her a dinner because she heard Karida complain she never had anything decent to eat. Karida broke down in tears begging for forgiveness and asking how she could be so kind after everything.
  • Delinquents - Mune was considered one where he used to live, Monica, who also lived in Probos, was surprised to see the Mune she met wasn't really that horror she always heard of. Much later he is again considered in the Azure Academy because he never studies, constantly fails at the tests and often is involved in fights around the place.
  • Diagnosis From Dr. Badass - Dr. Kayres after he reveals himself as a Combat Medic while fighting General Vincen Gedaliah.
Dr. Kayres: There are approximately 206 bones in a normal adult human body. I just cracked about five or six of yours and you must be experiencing a lot of pain now.
  • Did I Just Say That Out Loud?? - Mune, a lot.
    • One example: While the group was discussing in the council about whether if they should help the High Elves or not he let escape:
Mune: *Crossed arms looking aside* Big fuckin’ deal, like we really care 'bout them. *Everyone glares at him* Errr, did I say that out loud?
Lakas: Every single word my loudly thinker friend.
  • Did Not Do the Research - Bound to happen a soon or later since I'm a Bookdumb.
  • Distant Finale - The last part of story.
  • Does Not Like Shoes - Luz because she wants to feels the earth, besides she can float whenever she feels like to. Ciel also doesn’t like shoes, but she goes bare-foot for comfort. Ascension is the only seem to be wearing shoes just because he doesn’t like to bath.
    • Ulani because she can't wear them, duh.
  • Don’t Call me Master – Mune when he wins Pandora’s trust and right to use her powers, she keeps calling him “Master” but he always insists, uselessly, to be only called as Mune. The main reason of this is because Mune’s complete name is Mastermune and he hates the word “master”, at least when addressed to him.
  • Dramatic Thunder - The fight of Mune against Gungnir has a lot of these and both use them to throw to at each other all the time.
  • Dreaming of Things to Come - Nell has the ability to dream things about the future of people she cares if she has the Star Memento, she didn’t want to let Mune go to Drogen for the second time when, one day before his leaving to Karonte, she dreamed that he would die fighting monsters. Technically she was right.
  • Dressed to Kill - Lob "Tuxedo" Treia is the most feared assassin of Korelle, guess what he wears for his job.
  • Driven to Suicide – Again, Lob Treia. If the targeted person is harmless his method of killing is by making it drink a peculiar poison called “Deceitful Princess” by talking to the person in question and convince them to drink it.
Lob Treia: A sip of this and you will feel sleepy and pass away peacefully while you rest. How I do know this is simple, no one has ever let a whine after drinking it. If you refuse I can use another method which unfortunately will include some pain. I will let you choose your favorite drink for it and if you do not have any I have a very fine wine or just the most pure water with me.
  • Drowning Our Romantic Sorrows - Cachaça always pull his friends with broken hearts to a bar with this argument.
Cachaça: You got your ass kicked, your heart broken, your feeling underrated by the person you love the most? Cheer up my buddy, but for that to work you need a good dosage of alcohol!
  • Dual Wield - Lots people do this.
    • Kurono dual wields katanas.
    • Luna uses a pair of knives.
    • Hideki dual wield a pair of tonfas and they are his favorite weapons.
      • He later passes it to Mune who uses not as Hideki did, but as maces, making the part it was supposed to be the grip as guards.
    • Slips use two short batons to fight and escape too.
    • Adelrei dual wields a pair of staffs, one with a black onyx and another with an amethyst to enforce her dark magic.
    • Vontres can divide his shield in two and use as a blunt weapon or piercing depending of how he decides to fight.
    • Zurko brands a pair of Battle Axes. Not enough? He then resorts to a pair of War Hammers.
    • Oddly enough Mune almost always carries two swords but never use both in combat.
  • Dying Alone / I'm Cold... So Cold... - Chakra Luseen in his final fight against Zan'el (Elena Zaner) in a cold night on the sands of Scarlet. He went there all alone as it was a personal vengeance he wanted to get because Zan'el killed his father and master, Lestrato Kuhan. Chakra managed to defeat and kill Zan'el, but got badly wounded during the fight and didn't have enough strength to go back, thus dying feeling sorry and cold, before he passes out he prays so his friends fulfills their dreams with some of his memories with them flashing in his mind.
  • Dying Moment of Awesome - Mune after activating the Life Core, with a single thought he knocked-off his friends and went to fight the entire Lueius Army all by himself. He fought all he could, but it was obvious he wouldn't win the battle. However when he was about to give up Zurko's company finally reached the battlefield and thanks to Mune, who destroyed the Chosen Nemesis and many other war machinery they won, Mune died shortly before the victory not for the wounds but due the exhaustion caused by the Life Core, but before that he asked Pandora if he were a good master and partner, she compliments him and say that she'll miss him and also said all of his friends trusted that he'd do what was the best for everyone. Pandora questions him if he isn't afraid of death, he soon answers:
Mune: ... I had a good life, I met nice people, I smiled, cried, loved, hated and befriended even some who I thought I'd come to kill one day. What's more I found my parents and knew they were good people and understood why they did "abandon" me. I never thought I would end up doing something this significant. I'm not sure what I was supposed to feel right now, but it won't be fear.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending - Some people get this, others not.
  • Easily Forgiven - The Revoltz were forgave of all crimes thanks to the, accidental, arrest of Lob Treia who was hired to kill the royalty of Mahill.
  • Egopolis - The Lueius empire was named after the emperor's name whose son happens to have the same name.
  • Eldritch Abomination - The failed experiments of Dr. Hustean and part of the doctor himself after he tried to recreate the Perfect Materia.
    • The artificial life forms of the Lueius Empire.
  • Elemental Powers - What defines the type Ki Attacks of each one, many humans need years, sometimes decades, of training to perform it while all the other races seems to have natural talent to use them.
  • Elemental Embodiment - The Imperial Generals of Lueius had their body forcefully, most of them that is, infused with elemental demons or spirits so they could become even more powerful. Needless to say only few managed to keep their sanity after that.
  • Embarrassing First Name – Mune’s complete first name, Mastermune, which is just a case of personal dislike since he hates the first half of his name thanks to his inferiority complex and laziness to take the role of leader or any responsibility at all. He dislikes it even worse after Soldier decides to short his name as M.M. Which is actually an acronyms to his real name, Milanor Myreketti.
  • Embarrassing Nickname – As noted just above Mune detests being called M.M., though only Soldier actually calls him that. He finds it stupid sounding and the sheer amounts of jokes which can be made with it don’t help either.
  • Empathic Weapon - Azure Pandora, she even can get in the human (or any race) form when she wants to, but she does that mainly when she feels like she needs to.
  • Empty Shell - Zan'el. Elena Zaner after she wore the Mask of Emptiness.
  • Enemy Mine - When the Lueius Empire decided to use all its power the other three empires decided to turn against it as Lueius was recklessly destroying an already desolated place with almost no nature and abusing of demoniac, corrupted powers and using the already scarce Mana of the continent with the Chosen Nemesis in order to win.
  • Enigmatic Minion - Livanos Vangar who works under the orders of the Grand Archalians with, apparently, no reason. Turns out he’s a Reverse Mole.
  • Even Bad Men Love Their Papas - Karl is putting all his group in danger wrecking deities statues, pilfering, and profaning holy grounds with everyone awareness, just to find the whereabouts of his father.
  • Everyone Meets Everyone - Every couple Happily Married in the Pathfinders and their children in Kurono’s home. Even Luna who had gone without saying a word goes there, it’s notable she is much less aged than anyone else than Zurko who is a pure-blooded Draconian thanks to the blood transfusion she got from him in order to save her when she was poisoned during her first time on Drogen, this is also how she found him in first place.
  • Every Scar Has A Story – After losing a duel to prove Sophitia’s power Mune talks to her shirtless and she gazes a bit worried with all his wounds and scars, Mune then says the travel wouldn’t be any fun without them also stating why Lakas didn’t want her in it.
    • Soldier’s scars on his face and his near blind eye is left unexplained and he just change subjects or ignore whenever he is asked about it, until the reunion of Mune and his parents.
  • Evil Counterpart - Lute to her sister Eclair, while Eclair is humble, quiet and gentle, at least for most of time Lute is selfish, spoiled and arrogant. In the end it’s all facade, Lute is just envious of her sister just because she can't be more like her.
    • Zan'el to Chakra, the monk is a simple, calm, collected and easygoing for most of part and Zan'el is a person in constant rage that only cares for fighting and power. Actually everything is being faked as Zan'el has no ability to feel due to long times wearing the Mask of Emptiness. Also both were trained at the same place, use the same element and know almost the same techniques.
    • Arguably Karl to Mune or vice versa. Both are Deadpan Snarkers, both hate the role of being the "leader" of their groups and both want to find their parents and care a lot for their friends. Also both don't give a shit for morality and enjoy being mischievous. Additionally neither of the two is afraid of going to any lengths to fulfill their objectives or to protect people they care.
  • Exposed to the Elements - Averted. Mune rants of the heat of desert and Kurono scold him not for buying proper clothes and shoes for traveling in such place.
    • Additionally everyone uses heavy clothes when they go to Drogen where it's cold and is always raining and snowing, except Ulani whose race is very comfortable in even in the harshest cold, but not to pollution: Ulani got sick when they got to Drogen and everyone thought she had flu since she wasn't properly dressed for cold regions.
  • Explaining Your Power to the Enemy – Every now and then, some of them aren’t willing to hear it entirely, though.
  • Face Palm - Trying to talk seriously with Mune will, inevitably, result in this.
    • Also when Mune was taking care of Nell, while he was a servant of Dante family, she made him do it various times.
  • Face Palm of Doom – Done by Mune to Dr. Hustean as a coup d’ grace.
    • Sezari did this while curb stomping Mune to hell and almost put him in coma when fried him with a Holy spell in his face while doing this, worth note Mune was being held from the back of his head so his friends could only watch, unable to do anything to save him agonize overwhelmed before making him viciously explode apparently from inside out.
  • Familiar - There are two types of contract: the partnership, made when the familiar accepts a master by its own will where the familiar can leave whenever it wants and servitude which is the opposite and usually made when the master defeats and force the creature in question to become a familiar in order to be spared.
  • Favorite Food - About everyone has its preferences.
    • People from the Pathfinders:
      • Mune really likes rice, beans, fried eggs and some lettuce. Kurono is fond of spicy food, mainly curry and pepper sauce. Luna likes fish meat and dried plums, but her favorite food is vegetables which are very hard to find in the desert. Lakas prefer fruits, apples and grapes, and other things like carrots and potatoes, cooked or not. Chakra like egg, cheese and bread, bonus if it has some onions or peppers. Sophitia likes anything low-fat, it doesn't need to be tasty. Cachaça chomps down about anything that's not sweet neither sour. Celestie likes sweets and things fried with olive oil. Ulani likes croissant and croquettes, she likes any hot food but has a preference for egg-rice. Kaili really loves beef bowls and also bread and melted cheese with parsley. Zurko is very fond of black beans, dried meat and roasted potatoes, things he had eaten for ages in his army rations. Eclair usually eats only healthy food, but she's very fond of meat buns and pancakes. Presea loves anything fried, especially sliced vegetables mixed with rice, but hates anything spicy. Alara likes mainly liquid aliments such as soups, stews and porridges, her favorite food is onion soup by far on par with bean stew and rice porridge. Rumi likes veggies and meat stew, also roasted sweet potatoes. Nell loves chocolate and strawberry jam, but her favorite food is potato bread, because it was what Mune gave her when he first met her and she was starving.
    • The Revoltz.
      • Karl like most of things fried or roasted, even fruits and vegetables. Slips like sour and bitter food, Karl even label him as "human trash can" as he eat even Lieda's failures. Vontres likes pig meat, pasta and shrimps, he also says he can't stand sweets it makes him feel nauseous. Adelrei likes eating raw fish and some weird fruits. Lieda likes mainly corn and tomatoes with rice and curry. Zeferio like diverse kinds of soup and sweet aliments. Zan'el likes rare meat seasoned with parsley or garlic. Diore likes rice, turnip with fried fish meat. Karida likes honey, milk and chocolate, she sometimes mix everything to drink. Solsorro likes milk, bread, chocolates, vegetables and legume, but loathes any kind of meat.
  • Fear of Thunder - Nell is terrified of thunders, she had her cover blown in the Dante manor because she started crying during a thunderstorm. Nell gets better little by little as her foster father uses thunder as elemental power. Later her fear is justified which is instead a trauma: there was a thunderstorm at her village and a thunder stroke her home destroying it and also killing her parents, Rumi wasn't there at that time so she wasn't affected.
  • Festival Episode - Some of them hanging around.
    • The Scarlet festival was to commemorate the good harvesting they had.
    • The Karonte carnival which was being held during the time the Pathfinders reunited themselves before going to Drogen for the first time.
  • Fever Dream Episode - Nell dreamed about what happened in her past when she got a fever at Dante manor, Mune passed all the time taking care of her even at cost of having to work thrice as much than before.
    • Luna had this wThen she was poisoned with Draconian blood.
  • Fighting From The Inside - Mune does this in order to gain control of Azure Pandora.
  • Finger Snap Lighter - One of Mune's techniques is throwing lightning by snapping his fingers, it’s his fastest attack, but far from his strongest. Kurono tries it too, but it takes him a lot of practice to do so properly with lots of backfires before so, he eventually grow tired of trying to do it, but learns enough to light up his cigarettes.
  • Fire-Forged Friends - The Pathfinders to the Revoltz.
  • First Kiss – Mune from all people. Kurono even kept making jokes at him after all A Man Is Not a Virgin.
  • Floating Continent – Archalia which is kindheartedly named as "heaven" by most foreigners.
  • ForeshadowingA tragic one is when Lakas and Sophitia told out of nowhere they would want to die in a beautiful place such as Archalia. This happens the second time they go there and fight Dastrevi. They are buried near the place Sophitia and Lakas was planning to build a house and settle down for good.
  • Fortune Teller - The Pathfinders and the Revoltz come across one numerous times, it's the same person for both groups. "It" only gives them ill fortunes every time they ask for it, though it's more a warning than a predicament.
  • Fridge Logic - Do not try to apply it here.
  • Friend To All Children - Mune is very protective over children even the ones who aren't really children, this is notable when he went in a moment of Papa Wolf when Nell was put in danger by a bandit who invaded the Dante's manor. This because his adoptive father, Joel, was like this to him when he was younger and would even fight a couple of bandits to protect him from any harm.
    • Kurono is shown to be this as he would always take care of Ulani and later Rumi when he separated from Mune in order to investigate some events at Renelle.
  • Full-Contact Magic - Most of wizards and people who can use Elemental Powers requires not only great knowledge from its sources, and optionally from elemental spirits, to make use of them, but good amounts of physical strength too so they can withstand the fatigue of their own spells, avoid it from exploding or failing and even throw it at their opponents. Although most people only really care for the quantity of destruction their powers can do.
    • Eclair is a lot stronger than she apparent to be not only because she carries 300 paged books everywhere but because she can use an enormous variety of arcane spells. Needles to say Mune would believe this only after she knocked out cold the freaking heck of a bully with a single punch to his face.
  • "Funny Aneurysm" Moment - Kurono to Sarshek, when they were teenagers training at the mercenary camps, said his home was hell and wished that the place blew itself so he wouldn't have to go back, while they were drunk. It really happened.
    • Karl wished he'd never see his father ever again. Yet another fulfilled wish. Now he's going mad doing all sorts of crimes so he can find his father again.
  • Hannibal Lecture - Dr. Hustean does this to Mune saying it was his fault and only Kaili died, because he didn’t even try to save her, that he couldn’t love an artificial being like her and the sole reason he stayed with her was out of mere pity. It somewhat worked since after it Mune was left with a vast feeling of guilty and became celibate for several years.
  • Happily Married – Even though they do have several quarrels Sophitia and Lakas are a happy couple with one always cheering the other up and never letting anyone put them down.
    • Kurono marries Ulani after settling down in the house Sophitia and Lakas left for him in Karonte, a perfect place for Ulani, and eventually Marie, since it’s right in front of a beach
    • Zurko marries Presea and stays in the kingdom of Mahill while hiding his true identity, he then builds a house and stays there.
    • Mune marries Lute who liking or not is the only heiress of the De Luni family and stays working there. Adiana gives out an old, but conserved, house in Belgemine near the Azure Academy he studied at and he decides to stay living there.
    • Karl and Lieda much to people’s surprise, especially Slips. He never mentions the reason he broke with Diore but lives a happy and very tranquil life leading a school of weapons at Merito together with Lieda with the support of his father.
    • Slips and Karida. After their marriage Karida decides to go back to Archalia and stays working with the Third Sphere so she can protect her homeland. Karida also shares her blood with Slips so he can live not as much as her, but longer than a normal Human would live.
  • Gentleman Thief - Lob "Tuxedo" Treia. He's also a very competent assassin.
  • Girl of My Dreams - Upon the Crash into Hello of Mune and Eclair at the Azure Academy Mune had the feeling that she had met that girl, but since she was wearing a full head beret, nerdy glasses and a cape, he only remembered after the first time he fell asleep in the library of the place, when he got under Eclair's passive arcane aura. However he only recognized her after saving her when she fell from the top of a ladder trying to put a book in another shelf and let the beret felt over letting him see her blue hair and her face better.
  • Golem - Throne Tebista made a little army of golems which looked pretty human aside of Emet, which was supposedly created by his sister.
    • Golems in general keep getting more and more intelligent by the time and with all knowledge they buildup and they can end up getting their own personalities, ideals and start questioning why must they obey their masters, therefore it's why most of people who summons them destroy the golem in a short time after they've done with their job. Thus this is why one of leaders of Nahilus is a Golem.
  • Grasp the Sun - Sezari Ielle did this while giving "The Reason You Suck" Speech with the Hannibal Lecture to the Pathfinders and some of the Revoltz alongside the fellow Grand Archalians and wielding the Holy Lance of Longinus, just about to kill Luz.
  • Gray Rain of Depression - Drogen where about 90% of the year where is not cloudy is either raining or snowing depending of the place and only at very few countries it's sunny for most part of the year instead. These locations are usually resorts to the Emperors of the region.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs - Mune learned boxing with his brother to defend himself when disarmed, he does a good usage of it whenever necessary. However he doesn't rely only on his fists as he likes doing a two-foot kick a lot.
    • Kurono and Sarshek learned a non-lethal fight style that's appropriate to disable and immobilize their targets even breaking some bones and dislocating others if necessary, while it’s still non-lethal is acceptable too.
    • Chakra is a monk. Enough said.
    • Cachaça know how to fight more or less drunken and his style relies a lot on grabbing, add his drunk state and let the show roll.
    • Ulani has a lot of strength on her tail and she uses it a lot to swipe her opponents feet, but that don't mean she doesn't know how to fight with her hands.
    • Karl and Slips knows wrestling moves and when they fight together they use and abuse of it.
    • Vontres is an old guy who uses streetwise fighting all around and he taught to Lieda, but she sometimes decides to fight too dirty.
  • Good Wings, Evil Wings - People from Archalia, a lot. Subverted since their wings depend a lot on what other half the person is and some people with angelic wings aren’t very nice as some with pretty evil looking are very carefree and nice.
    • To a lesser extent the personality of people are shown if they manage to materialize their wings with the artifact Wings of Icarus.
  • Graceful Loser - Mune became this to Lieda once she beat the crap out of him after he underestimated her. He apologized for what he done and asked for a rematch any day, she accepted with a smile in the face.
    • General Killio Sener when Luna defeats him, he thanks her and even invites her to be his bride; she refuses which saddens him, he well-wishes for her future and even gives an outfit used by his sister as a gift for the good fight.
    • General Ienze Bartone says to Sophitia she's happy to see there are other strong women around the world and let Sophitia stay with her rapier before parting reporting her defeat.
    • Solsorro Kabak who admits Slips far more skilled in fighting than thieving and that he should be himself.
  • Ha Ha Ha No
  • Half-Human Hybrid – Adelrei and Celestie are half-elf-human and so is General Zeres.
    • More Later in the story Luna became part Draconian thanks to a blood transfusion from Zurko, she also gain some abilities she hadn't before with it. The same things happened with Natasha long before it.
    • Presea is half-archalian-human while Alara is half-archalian-elf.
  • Hands On Approach - Mune and Rosa while she was teaching him how to dance waltz, no blushes nor anything romantic occurred, though, only few steps on Rosa's foot and laughs whenever Mune tripped over himself.
  • Happily Adopted - Nell and Rumi by her auntie, Lariel Aminata.
  • Hard Work Hardly Works - A bit subverted. Mune learns things extremely fast, but it takes him time and practice to get skilled at that.
  • He's a Friend - The Pathfinders to the Revoltz in Archalia, both times with Rumi being the mediator between the groups avoiding anyone killing anyone in the meeting.
  • Healing Shiv – Every element can be used to heal, cure as long one knows how to do so.
  • Heart Warming Orphan - Nell Aminata who Mune treats her more or less like his child since she sneak up in the Dante manor and clearly said she had no parents neither home.
  • Heel Face TurnPresea Milliani and Livanos Vangar. The first decided to keep traveling with the Pathfinders even after they left Archalia.
  • Heel Realization – Karl, oh so much.
  • Hero Killer - Maestrel Gallawood (Shiro), Zan'el (Chakra), Dr. Hustean Jephuuneh (Kaili), Albus Fercio (Celestie), Dastevri Jarugar (Sophitia and Lakas), Overi Sobran (Vontres and Solsorro), Jestro Forgori (Cachaça), Armele Kaati (Eclair).
  • Heroic BSOD – In Chakra’s flashback when he got to know his foster dad and master was murdered he got in by one of his disciples.
    • Everyone of the Pathfinders and Revoltz at Archalia gets a five of this, four of them in a streak. One after Sezari Ielle revealed herself as the master of the Grand Archalians, Mune event went into a small berserk deaf moment before going batshit insane, the second after she opened her seraphic wings showing some gruesome Body Horror under them, the third after realizing she is also a pure-blooded Archalian and the fourth after seeing she does posses the Holy Lance of Longinus. The last is during the last fight against her seeing she somehow developed immunity the lance, that being the best chance of winning for both groups.
    • Mune had one hell of this at Yggdrasil. Upon the discovery that Eclair was made the avatar and vessel of Armele Kaati’s and she was the reason of Korelle’s demise all along, he refused to fight nearly the entire battle and only snapped after hearing Eclair’s voice echoing in his mind screaming in despair to be saved, which made him scream hopeless too as Mune already knew from the start he would have to kill Eclair to save Korelle.
      • Mune kept stuck in this after Eclair’s death. He felt so miserable by the fact this time that he was the one who killed her he became completely mute refusing anything else than walk and respond with nod for several months that his friends really got worried about him. Only after getting Lute’s forgiveness he came back, mostly, to his old self.
  • Heroic Comedic Sociopath - Mune, sort of. He tries to good deeds, but his ways of acting are sometimes less than orthodox. Not even Karl, who is a mild wanted criminal, really understands how Mune hasn’t his face stamped in a “Wanted” poster like him.
  • Heavy Sleeper - Mune. Kurono has to throw him water, sand and even some thunder to wake him up at times.
  • "Hey, You!" Haymaker - Mune is very fond of such maneuver. Then this is subverted when he tries and the target looks back already punching him.
  • High Altitude Battle - Pathfinders against the Grand Archalians at the skies of Archalia.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard – Almost happened to Celestie one time when she was fighting Jishon, she would nearly kill herself with an elemental overreaction, when that happened she became so afraid of her own power that she wouldn’t use them for years until Adelrei, before she joined the Revoltz, would help her overcome that fear.
    • Averted with Sezari Ielle who despite being a pure-blooded Archalian is totally immune to the Holy Lance Longinus, a weapon that can kill with a single scratch anyone with archalian blood. Only after Vontres successfully hit her with the weapon using it like a javelin they were shocked to see Sezari as nearly unharmed.
    • Played straight with Maestrel Gallawood whose inner demon want to devour only people with strong auras and elementals. In his last fight against Zurko and Natasha he nearly manages to devour Zurko’s elemental source and became so powerful that his inner demon snapped and turned against him.
  • Hopeless War / Forever War - The four of empires of Drogen are at constant war, they had a brief moment of peace which lasted almost nothing compared all the time they are battling. But "He who hesitates is lost." So they keep fighting over and over...
    • This was the reason that leads Mune go to Drogen for the second time, to rescue his parents after he received a letter from Soldier Hellfor warning that his parents’ cover was blown and they were in serious risk with the war raging between the four empires once again.
  • Hot Springs Episode - One when they first met Sophitia who paid a luxurious hotel which happened to have these. Mune is very fond of this and also stated they had various around Probos.
  • How Do I Shot Web? – In one fight Mune is told to use his power at slower speed for tactical issues, he is totally oblivious of how the heck he can do that, he shot his power but it was faster than before and screwed Kurono's idea who quickly scolded him after that.
  • Humans Are Bastards - Almost every elf opinion about humans. The other races don't seem to think like that, or they simply don't care. Oddly enough elves don’t think half human breeds are bad, only if it’s half-elf-human.
    • Then again Mune invokes this while talking to High-Elves in Drogen.
Mune: Dude being human sucks. You age way too quick, most of us need a gift to use elemental powers and we are needlessly savage. Seriously what the hell.
  • I Call It Vera - Lakas' weapon name is Melodia. It's a homage to his Dead Little Sister who loved hearing him play, it's also the reason Lakas keep playing and became a bard.
  • I Don't Like the Sound of That Place – Lampshaded.
Mune: Citadel of Damned Souls? Now that’s some appealing named place.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink - Played for laughs with about everyone in the Pathfinders.
    • Not for so many laughs when Cachaça recover his memories, he's simply disgusted to remember who and what he was before it happened.
    • Karl says this whenever he's beaten badly.
  • I Promised Myself I Wouldn't Cry - Averted with Mune after Kaili's death he pretends he's okay, but in the following nights he goes away from his friends so no one would hear him crying and curse himself for his inability of saving her, only Celestie and Ulani actually saw that and they decided not to tell anyone about it.
  • I Was Beaten By A Girl - Mune got his ass kicked by Lieda pretty good when he though he could defeat her with brute force, he wasn't very ashamed of this, though.
  • I Will Protect Her - Mune promises this to Lute towards Eclair. He fails.
  • If You Kill Him, You Will Be Just Like Him – Averted all the freaking time.
  • Identical Stranger - Shiro Silvar to Mune. It came down that Shiro was the deceased son of General Zeres who even her had Mune mistaken for, she hugged and welcomed him back confusing the heck of everyone, especially Mune. People who knew Shiro were astounded when they saw the resemblance Mune had with him too.
  • Identity Amnesia - Cachaça. When he recovered his memories he remembers he was a pompous wussy coward womanizer that got so many haters he thought it was no surprise someone attempted murder to him. He got his amnesia after an actual failed murder attempt and thanks to the person who helped him he became a more decent person.
  • Indy Ploy – Pretty much how Mune travels. Fixed destiny, no plans. Kurono and anyone sane lampshades this never being shy about calling Mune an idiot for this. *
  • Infinity+1 Element - The long lost element of Mana.
  • Ineffectual Loner - Despise everyone being able to handle most of threats by themselves this is what drives the speechs once the The Dragon or the Big Bad itself is dealt with. Subverted with Sezari Ielle who had all support she had but none had real trust in her which was pointed by Karida in her Humiliation Conga to be the cause of her fall.
  • Innocent Flower Girl - Olive Alberta is one who works in Drogen, she wants to spread a little of joy in a depressing place with artificial flowers she and her boyfriend handcrafts.
  • Instant Armor - Everyone who has manifested their elemental powers at least once have physical tolerance above the standards. Additionally every element can raise a barrier or create a shield when used properly.
  • I'm Not a Hero, I'm... - From hero to other things:
Kurono: I am no hero and will never be. I am just like every other person in the Union of Korelle doing its job.
Luna: I am not a hero. I've never asked for these powers, but as long I have them I won't stand just watching the strong
Presea: I am not a monster... I what I chose to be, I am Presea and I won't leave my true friends behind.
  • Improbable Weapon User - Lakas uses a medieval instrument called Vielle named Melodia to play, gain money and... Fight. The usage of it can vary from notes capable of controlling elements to an actual bash with the sturdy instrument.
    • Vontres uses a shield which is attached to the chest of his armor, he can divide it in two and use either to bash or pierce depending of the tip of the shield he's using.
    • Cachaça's second weapon? A canteen tightly tied to a stick.
  • Ill Girl - Eclair has a disease that constantly makes her feel weak and dizzy, it gets worse if she tries to use her elemental powers.
  • Interspecies Romance – Although only Elves think that it is taboo “mating” other races, above all if it is human-elf thing. In Nahilus Mune is astonished of how many kinds of half breeds are there living at peace, that ranging from half-elf-humans to Draconians, Undines, Neptunes and Archalians.
  • Ironic Nickname - Mune loves doing this to everyone. Lakas does this too in a more formal, polite way.
  • It Got Worse – Drogen’s war in the penultimate story segment and even worse after the final Time Skip.
  • It's Personal - Mune's journey is to find his biological parents and initially he refused to accept anyone to travel with him because of this, but as soon more and more companions he started to join him Mune naturally started wonder why and how he gathered so many people to travel.
    • Kurono wanted to find the one who destroyed him hometown not to really arrest him. After he accomplished that he wanted to see how far Mune’s potential was, but end up liking to travel with him and his friends and even gave up on his job to keep traveling with them.
  • Jade-Colored Glasses - Mune. He was already cynical to begin with, but this gets progressively worst as the events during the first trip in Drogen unfold to the point of turning him into a complete Jerkass after Kaili's death.
    • Everyone else to a certain degree, especially those in Pathfinders after seeing friend after friend passing away.
  • Jerkass Façade – Lute de Luni, so much. After Eclair getting banished for real from her family defending her and having the sympathy of someone who thought she was a prick she let all that rude and arrogant mask fall and started to show that she actually is as timid as Eclair. Lute has a breakdown after knowing about Eclair's death and incessantly curses Mune because he let her die, after he swore he'd protect Eclair.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold - Karl always act like a tough guy because he doesn't want to look weak, Slips lampshades every time he can. Only Adelrei, and Lieda at very rare times, are able to touch his soft side every now and then.
  • Kangaroo Court - One to Mune when he was investigating the corruption of high-class people, mainly the royalty, at Mahill. Also he was already expecting that to happen as he meddled with "the big guys". He got arrested on purposed just to get the attention of the high court and show proofs that the princess Rahni Carmilla herself was the responsible for ordering death of many soldiers and even conspiration against her parents in order to get the command of all kingdom to herself. Bitch in Sheep's Clothing indeed.
  • Karmic Transformation - The Imperial Generals of Lueius.
  • Kick the Son of a Bitch – Mune does this to Dr. Hustean Jephuuneh electrocuting him via Facepalm Of Doom once he was defeated and neutralized by ripping his left arm off. He doesn’t stop until the Hustean is definitely dead and he even used intensity enough so he would suffer a lot before dying.
  • Kid from the Future – Rune. She actually is Emilia’s daughter, so Mune is her grandfather but he died when she was a just a baby so she doesn’t remember him at all. Things started to get really problematic when Mune started to grow feelings for her and such twist would cause a huge change in the timeline.
  • Kid Samurai - Sagira Veltro.
  • Knight Errant - Vontres was one until he joined the Revoltz.
  • Knight Templar - The Grand Archalians have only one thing in common: their goal to punish the land of sinners as they expect the Nameless God bring the purification once they depart all people Too Good For This Sinful Earth. Note they can't bring The End of the World as We Know It by themselves nor they have any Weapon Of Mass Destruction, they just expect their "prophecy" to be fulfilled once they do what they think it's right.
  • Kuudere – Chakra Luseen, Karida Cieba, Zeres Silvar, Zurko Agni and Knighter Sasaki.
  • Laser-Guided AmnesiaDr. Hustean Jephuuneh does this to the homunculus, created with memories of his own daughter, which he would remake into Kaili Lalasa, he erases all of her former memories and forges new ones to her to make sure she would fall in love with Mune and that the feeling would be mutual.
  • Leave the Two Lovebirds Alone - Sophitia shoo Lakas, Ulani pushed Kurono, Luna chased Chakra and Cachaça away while Celestie moved Rumi when Mune and Kaili were about to get a Relationship Upgrade.
  • Legacy Of Service – The De Luni business is to help other noble, stronger, families to get lands, proprieties and rare stuff to them. Éclair was supposed to be the 35th heiress to the family business, but she quitted in order to focus on her Arcane magic abilities thus almost getting banned from her family and leaving the business to her younger sister, Lute de Luni.
  • Leeroy Jenkins – Mune who constantly charges without a single action plan, a bit subverted since he only does that when someone needs to think up a plan and he becomes a distraction to the enemy, while alone he fights with a lot more caution.
  • Lightning Bruiser - Kurono, Up to Eleven when he uses one of his most devastating techniques: Illusion.
  • Like Brother and Sister - Mune and Luna, both are always taking care of the other and helping each one when they feel bad. Adiana feels the same for Mune later as he’s always taking care of her without caring about rules or himself.
    • Karl and Lieda argue as if they were like this, often lampashaded by the rest of the group, especially by the Team Mom Adelrei.
  • Limited Wardrobe - Slightly averted. About everyone buy new clothes periodically and carries at very least two sets of different clothes.
  • Little Miss Badass - Anita Careates when she learns how to control her elemental powers and Rumi when she gets angry.
  • Living Lie Detector - Kurono and Sophitia are this.
  • Living Shadow - General Zopenir Abanre power of darkness can control shadows, Adelrei would learn how to do the same thing just by looking his magic.
  • Loads and Loads of Characters - Mune travels a lot meaning he meets a lot of people.
  • Loads and Loads of Races - Let's begin. Humans, Elves, Draconians, Undines and the male counterpart, Neptunes, Archalians and the Nahilians, which are monsters who weren't corrupted in general. More can come with time and imagination.
  • Lonely Rich Kid - James Hetsten Athelstan who actually pays people to be around him and make others think he's popular.
    • Eclair de Luni and the children of the Dante family are this. Although Eclair is more blatant since she is almost banished from her family and nearly no one really cares about her.
  • Loners Are Freaks – Conversed, discussed:
Mune: Believe me, loners are weird people, don't try friendly approaching, that won't work. I know mainly because I was one.
Kurono: I’ve traveled alone for years and met many loners. They are sad tormented people…
Slips: Do you know why some people and most thieves are loners? Because they don't trust anyone, they may like, but not trust.
Adelrei: Being left alone with no one to support you is terrifying; it can change a person forever with no chances of reverting…
  • Magitek - Most of actual "technology" is fueled by some magic. Example: The light from most manor and castles of Drogen is fueled by slaves who can use thunder as elemental power.
  • Lost World - The continent of Nahilus is constantly moving around the world making it impossible to pinpoint its location and is considered by most of people a fable, myth, legend or figment of the imagination of many.
  • Love Epiphany – It took Mune long enough to notice he was in love with Eclair, only after he thought he lost her to James and talking to Lute before almost quitting the Azure Academy he was sure of his feelings. The same could be said of Eclair too as she only accepted she was in love with him after James told her to be honest with herself.
    • Kurono had problems saying how much he loved Ulani until the moment of the final battle against the Lueius Empire, he begged her to run to the sea as she was the only who could have any actual chance of escaping alive from there. Ulani asked why he wanted her to run so much and he finally confessed he loved her so much that he wouldn’t bear to see her die, that he wasn’t strong like Mune and that if he lost a person he loved, he wouldn’t be able to stand it.
    • Karl’s feelings towards Diore only bloomed after everything was done for them and his group finally settled at Karonte after coming back from Archalia for the second time and he finally could give his feelings one more chance. Diore wasn’t sure if she really liked him, but after the tough times and what happened between them at Archalia she decided to stay with him.
  • Ludicrous Precision – Pandora does this all the time and Mune hates it.
  • Lunacy - Luna (er) whose power depends of the phase of the moon, if it's Full it'll be more defensive and Light elemental, on the other hand if it's New it'll be totally focused on offense.
  • Made a Slave - Drogen has slavery as punishment for most crimes, especially the war ones. Korelle had this banned, but after the first Time Skip they got back with it. A slave in any case don’t have the right even over his own life nor the right of having a name being mostly called by numbers or anything of easy memorization for their masters, killing a slave is as much bad as killing an wild animal according to the laws and the worst punishment you can get is having to clean and bury the slave. Unpleasant.
  • Magic Music - Lakas uses when he fights to control and summon Earth and Wind around him, but never when he's performing.
Lakas: Any fool could do music with magic, but do magic with music is a talent who few ones has.
  • Magical Defibrillator - Kurono and Mune are humans defibrillators.
  • Mama Bear - Zeres Silvar to Mune as she still thinks Mune is her son, Shiro who just lost his memories and got a little fatter. She went into a moment of Mama Bear + Tranquil Fury when she saw Mune almost getting killed by Zaste Kurge.
  • Manly Tears - The first time Nell calls Mune "daddy" he couldn't hold his tears.
    • Soldier Hellfor let one tear run over his face when he had to leave Milanor and go back to Drogen.

  • Master Swordsman - Makai Kensaru is world-wide known and considered the strongest swords woman alive and bears the nickname of "Swordmaster". Not even Imperial Generals wants to mess with her.
  • Meaningful Funeral
  • Meaningful Name – Luna, who uses attacks based on the moon, while full it tends to be shiny and defensive on the other hand when it's in the New phase it's dark and solely for attack.
    • Gungnir is named after the legendary spear of Odin which, supposedly, never misses. He really did never miss an attack until he fought Mune which lead him to a Villainous BSOD.
    • Cachaça got his name from a popular drink in Brazil which is pretty strong and is the favorite of the drunken.
    • Celestie Fimbulvetr, her specialty is ice magic.
    • Luz, who is the guiding light of Archalia.
    • The number of names a person has states its social class. Ordinary people can have only two. Nobles can have up to three names. Royalty can have as many names they want. If an ordinary person serves a noble or royalty they'll have to put the surname of the one they are serving as theirs.
E.Leo: I usually pick random letter and try to make joke, anagrams with them so there are many accidental meaningful names or the contrary...
  • Megaton Punch - Chakra and Zan'el have on attack that can at very least cause an impact enough to pierce though battle armors, although doing it without protecting their hands properly will have consequences for them.
  • Meido – Rosa, Gilda, Tabata and Monica for the Dante family. Monica is a "higher" class maid who serves directly to Adiana.
  • Mistress and Servant Boy – Adiana Macha Dante and her servant “Mune” Sasaki Dante.
  • Monster Town - Very few in any other continent, but Nahilus where they are scattered all over the place. Most monsters are not hostile towards other races and the number of Half-Human Hybrid there is astonishing.
  • Mook Face Turn - The band of Tarvos and Nietto Karma, or what's left of it, joins Diore Karma to fix all mess they've caused and help the former ones recreate their lives.
    • Much later the Heulwen and Koldobika forces would decide to join Renelle's in order to bring down the Lueius' Army as they were willing to swipe Drogen recklessly with their Weapon Of Mass Destruction and Eldritch Abominations even as far to ignore orders from their own generals and make themselves a temporary union in their moment of Enemy Mine.
  • More Dakka - Near the end of story when Mune went One-Winged Angel after activating the power of Life Core the Lueius Army decided to use arrows, catapults, ballista and finally when they get desperate enough getting to the point of using the Chosen Nemesis, a weapon which made the entire Draconian race almost EXTINCT, on a single person. Too bad for them it didn't work and Mune for obvious reason got VERY pissed and had decided to apply the same logic on them. He morphed Pandora into a ballista and threw at them a giant arrow which spread into a flurry of energy arrows and after into a catapult aiming in the Chosen Nemesis.
  • Morph Weapon - The Azure Pandora, she can morph into swords, axes, spears, bows, crossbows and even into a catapult or a ballista. She can even turn into a human form whenever she feels like it.
  • Mugging the Monster - Unless the bandits attacking have some tricks up to his sleeve it's certain he'll get his ass kicked. Hard.
  • Mundane Utility – Kurono use his elemental in his sword as a lamp to illuminate dark places, he would teach the same thing to Mune. Mune himself learn harmless tricks with lightning based on that knowledge which he uses to amuse Nell, Anita and Luz.
    • Mune uses his element to ignite wood and start a bonfire with ease by snapping his fingers throwing a small thunder crack.
    • Lakas ability with music and elements is used a lot to get money, he is paired with Sophitia who dances with his music to help.
    • Kaili uses her elemental powers of fire to daily activities such as cooking, heating, starting bonfires and drying clothes.
    • Hideki’s another usage for the legendary Shin Zantetsu? Slicing third-class meat easily.
    • Mune uses Pandora to materialize pillows, toothpicks, forks, spoons, pans and many other daily items whenever he feels lazy and to carry less baggage. Pandora isn’t very pleased when he does this too often.
  • My Name Is Inigo Montoya – Luna gives one to the super powered Throne.
Luna: You want to know who I am? I am Luna, one of the many people whose life you’ve destroyed with your pointless ambition. I am a child who survived of your coward attacks to helpless children of an orphanage!
    • Natasha Azefol, a friend of Zurko, forced General Maestrel use his inner demon to overpower her, but before that Natasha stated why she never liked him.
Natasha: I never trusted you Maestrel Gallawood... You were always scheming about anything, always trying to find a way to use people around you, even those who genuinely cared for you. But that isn't all... You dared to threat Zurko... Ah, I know that face yours, I knows exactly what you’re thinking now. "What is that? How much does Zurko means to her? Now I can find a use to her". You make me sick. I'll gladly answer one of your doubts. My real name shall clarify few things to you: Natasha Azefol Agni. Zurko Agni is my father and you tried countless times to harm him. Now you're going to pay for everything.
    • Mune is asked by Gungnir Vjaya who he is before he throws him another Perfect Lance:
Mune: I am Mune, son of peasants of Probos of Korelle. You harmed my friends and nearly killed two of them. You made me mad and now I’ll make you regret.

  • Never Got To Say Goodbye - Chakra to the Pathfinders to, the monk only leaves a letter thanking them for everything before parting to the sands of Scarlet to face Zan'el in his last fight.
    • Luna. After returning from Drogen from the second travel she goes away from her friends without saying a single word of goodbye and this puzzles everyone. She does goes back to visit everyone after the final Time Skip.
  • Nigh Invulnerable – The pure-blooded Archalians. They can be stabbed, slashed, poisoned and beaten as much as possible, but they can’t feel any physical pain if not from Longinus.
  • No Holds Barred Beat Down - Mune who was already in the peak of his rage against Dr. Hustean Jephunneh. After a rather short, yet effective Hannibal Lecture, and disgustingly loathe yet another time Kaili he finally cut the very last and thin line of patience that was holding Mune’s control, this soon was followed by a merciless, brutal beat down and electrocution to death.
    • Rognus did this when he fought Sophitia who was visiting Ciel at the time, it wasn’t pretty.
      • Lakas, the nice, calm, easygoing and peace loving did this, in the only time he ever snapped, after finally encountering Rognus Fleast. The image of his wife covered in blood and the thought she was dead flashing through his mind while hearing the cackle of the bandit was more than enough to break his already unstable condition. The result? One of the most one-sided fights of the story. After blasting him across the field with Wind spells and throwing rocks like missiles against him numerous times Lakas proceeded to bash the hell out of Rognus with his instrument so hard until Rognus started to actually beg for help. Not that Rognus didn’t deserve anyway.
    • Kurono went completely out of himself while fighting Bane Tate after mocking the memory of his deceased family, especially of his brother and Dead Little Sister who doubled as an Ill Girl. After cutting almost every non lethal place of Bane, Kurono pulled off both scabbards of his katanas and beat him like he only did to training dolls. Bane tried in vain to escape but had his legs and knees broken as soon he nearly managed to. The only reason he survived was because Kurono missed the finishing attack and unleashed his last moment of sheer fury on Bane’s shield which was completely wrecked.
    • How Soldier Hellfor got his scar and nearly lost one of his eyes. Fighting a dozen of enemy soldiers while protecting a frail child isn’t easy even for someone who is as powerful as one Imperial General, the result was a cruel beatdown and a escape pulled off barely by one desperate blind spell.
  • Normally, I Would Be Dead Now - Mune while under the effect of the Life Core has dozen of arrows pierced through his body, including one in his heart, has lost so much blood his body is almost white and most of his bones are broken. Mune even lampshades this when he get the chance.
Mune: Holy crap look at how thrashed I am I was supposed to be dead right?
Pandora: Yes. Long ago when the eighth arrow pierced your heart you weren’t supposed to be alive anymore.
  • No Sell – Using the element against someone with the same elemental results in almost nothing, only the impact of the attack will really hurt. This is brutally set when Gungnir nearly killed everyone when he threw his most powerful attack on them with only Mune taking it with few injuries due to be thrown away, Kurono had suffered more injuries since he has a double-elemental and wasn’t totally shielded against Gungnir’s attack. Celestie and Ulani who are weak against lightning were dangerously close to die and possibly wouldn’t survive weren’t for the help of a very competent healer.
    • The Holy Lance Longinus don’t affect Sezari Ielle who is a pure-blooded Archalian.
  • No Sense of Personal Space – Presea and Ulani especially. Ulani latches on someone day from day while Presea is very curious and not very shy of getting closer than she needs to be not only about Ulani, but also Zurko since their races are the most uncommon even around Archalia.
  • Not So Safe Harbor - Mekaravis, when the few Imperial Generals were organizing people so they could board the ship, but it was destroyed by a Lueius force.
  • Note to Self – Written or mental some people usually do this.

Lakas: You’re still thinking as loud as usual my friend.
  • Not Good with People - Mune says he isn't good with people as he has the bad habit of saying stupid things at the worst time possible, people around him agree.
    • Luna since she lived most of her life hiding from everyone, she gets better with time, though.
    • Zurko can only talk decently around the military and when it’s about job. He feels lose and rather uncomfortable when he has to live a "normal" life, Zurko can only talk normally with his foster daughter Natasha and General Zeres.
  • Not So Stoic - Kurono when Bane Tate read his mind and trying to make him lose control for an easier fight he mocked his dead family. It backfired horribly; Kurono went in an insane rage so great he became impossible to read and thus getting Bane in a moment of pure Oh Crap.
    • Luna had one moment when she had a bad dream during her first time traveling to Drogen when she remembered about everything that happened in the orphanage she lived, after being awaked by Mune and end up awaking the entire group she finally states that it was thank to them she was able to overcome everything and that who knows what she would be if they didn’t help her.
    • Karida Cieba when facing Sezari Ielle for the last time. Sezari tried to get her back to the Grand Archalians and offered her the power she was wishing for a long time and then demanded her to betray and kill Luz. After a short silence Karida laughed like a maniac like she didn't for a long time and promptly tried to kill Sezari.

    • Cachaça since he has absolutely no memories of who he was and uses the name of his favorite drink as his name. Cachaça eventually found what his real name was: Rokefort, but since he didn’t like it he preferred to be called only as Roker. Even after knowing this he prefers that his friends to call him Cachaça, but they do call him Roker, Rokefort, from time to time.
    • Actually Mune much to everyone’s surprise, his full first name is Mastermune, but he didn’t like it so he got used to call himself only Mune. Only after meeting Hideki in Drogen his friends know this.
  • One-Winged Angel – Zurko pulls one while on the third battle against Mune who obviously went into an instant Oh Crap.

They also take the name of their race and home continent "Nahilus" from the first monster who ever stood and guided those who were chased by the other races and gathered in a land that would be target of a massive and brutal slaughter held by humans and elves. Nahilus with the help of all other creatures used all of his power to separate the land from that continent so the survivors could live without fear and to top it he used a spell that would make the continent drift around the world aimlessly forever.

  • Philosopher's Stone – Known by people as an artifact which can infinitely increase one’s elemental power or as a material which can be refined into any kind of precious metal, gem or ore it is Rumi's dream is to create it.
  • Photographic Memory – While not being a trait he has Mune remembered a thing while talking to his parents, how his mom used to call him, when he was a toddler, by a nickname he so far disliked. He also remembered, after hearing him telling how and why he got into an orphanage at Korelle in first place and finally how Soldier Hellfor gained his scars; his narration brought up some of his most traumatic memories which were so bad it made Mune throw up almost immediately upon the reminiscence.
  • Picky Eater - Sophitia, Lamire and Diore.

Doyo was looking for a medicine to cure the same thing for his daughter and thanks to Mune’s help he succeeded.
    • This is way the Pathfinders used to defeat General Maestrel Gallawood for the first time and later with the help of the Revoltz the demi-god Overi Sobran in Archalia.
  • Power Nullifier - Chakra's Spirit Impact can void or even destroy for good one's elemental ability depending of the intensity which is used. Livanos has a similar technique he used only on Rognus.
    • Lakas can play a music which doesn't let anyone focus enough to use any elemental attack. This is his most difficult technique as he has to wear earplugs not to get affect by him own ability and as he can't hear what he's playing he can't tell if he made a mistake or not.
    • The ore called "Elemental Diminisher" can negate the cast of any elemental power in a very large area for a random period of time.
  • Praetorian Guard - Every place have one some are held by kingdoms or empires, others are independent.

  • Princess Curls - Princess Rahni and Sophitia. Adiana had this once at the Masquerade Ball.
  • Promotion to Parent - Nell to Mune while he was a servant of the Dante family, she got very close to him and followed him every time she could. Mune gave food to her and when she was discovered by the other Dantes he took the responsibility and care of her. Mune bought her new clothes, sewed her old ones and even gave her a doll which was from Adiana’s, he also put her to sleep by singing her lullabies when she was having trouble with nightmares. She wouldn’t stop calling him dad or father even after she was adopted by Lariel and she didn’t stop doing it not even after Mune married and had a daughter, who Nell aptly started calling sister.
  • Psycho Electro – Gungnir Vjaya.
    • Kurono can fit in this if he gets pissed enough.
  • Psychoactive Powers - Everyone's powers tend to be fueled by a feeling, emotion. If Sophitia comes to understand this she can predict, deflect and avoid any incoming attack becoming nearly invincible.
  • Put on a Bus / Long Bus Trip – Three times to everyone in the Pathfinders: the first when Mune became a servant at the Dante manor, another when he decided to go to study at the Azure Academy and the last one when Mune end up in Nahilus.
  • Putting on the Reich - Somewhat subverted. All four empires have intimidating armors and robes which make all look like the bad guys.
Mune: I wonder who would win the “I’m the most evil looking guy” contest here.
  • Putting the Band Back Together – Via letter and tons of coincidence (i.e.: Ass Pull).
    • The Revoltz, after Zan'el tried to kill Rumi, had to split in order to escape from getting arrested. They met each other in a small village after many letters sent to gather everyone. The moment Karl saw everyone safe and sound he smiled openly in a long time, so long that even Lieda or Slips hadn’t the courage to make fun of him.
  • Pyrrhic Victory – Whenever they come across a Big Bad, the Pathfinders are mostly sure to have a victory, but not all of them can be celebrated.
    • The defeat of Dr. Hustean Jephunneh. Made especially bitter for Mune.
    • The defeat and end of the Grand Archalian menace. Celestie died helping the Third Sphere and none of the Pathfinder thought her sacrifice was worth since some of the Grand Archalians still managed to run. Ulani and Luna were the ones who suffered the most with the loss.
    • The restoration of Yggdrasil. They saved the Mother tree of Korelle, but at cost of losing a dear friend, Eclair de Luni, who was made the rotten core which was corrupting and decaying an entire continent. Yet this is another very awful victory for Mune.
    • The fall of the Sovereign. Lakas and Sophitia would die fighting Overan’s follower, Dastrevi Jarugar, and even though they saved Archalia from being destroyed losing two long time friends left the victory with a very objectionable taste for the Pathfinders.
    • The uncurse of Cinqe. After so much time tracking his disappeared adoptive brother Mune finally finds him only to be obliged to kill him in order to break the sinister curse affecting the entire continent of Cinqe and which could affect the world ultimately. Mune is again left in agony with such victory.
    • The fall of Lueius Empire. The greatest army of the empire of Lueius is destroyed by the union of the three other empires, but Renelle is in shambles and most of what was once the second greatest force of Drogen is in such fragile state that not even the most confident and optimistic person can hope for a complete recovery. However for the Pathfinders it is actually a good victory since Mune manages to rescue his biological parents and take them to Korelle in a safe place where they are allowed to live finally in peace.
  • Quest for Identity – One of the reasons the Pathfinders went to Archalia for the first time was to restore Ulani’s memories and find more about Luna’s past and powers.
  • Rage Against The Reflection - Chakra to himself when he let Zan'el escape even after he had in mind she was the killer of his master and father.
    • Mune to himself after Eclair's death.
    • Luz when she had to choose between the lives Archalia and people who she deeply cared for, it was the only time she had gone in a rage state she cracked the entire church she lives with a single punch to the ground, having a pure heart she wanted to protect everyone, but she couldn't. • Rasputinian Death – Overi Sobran, Dastevri Jarugar and Mune.
  • Razor Wind - Subverted with Kurono, this is his most common elemental attack, but it doesn't cuts, it causes an impact that can be felt like a cut.
  • Really 700 Years Old – Milder examples are elves and draconians who can live twice, thrice more than a human or undines and neptunes can.
    • Luz is one of few pure-blooded Archalian still alive, she's about 500 years old, but has a body that looks like she's just 5. She lived almost her entire life trapped in a church and her pure innocence is the guiding light to people of Archalia. Karida treat her more than a friend, but less than a mother.
    • Ciel is also as old as Luz, but still looks like a child but unlike Luz she was way more playful and kept escaping from the watch of the Third Sphere to walk around the city she lives at doing few uses of her power much to their alarm. It is told by Michaleos that Ciel is the eldest of the still alive pure-blooded Archalians and that’s why she must be bored of all confinement.
    • Ascension is yet another pure-blooded Archalian who lives under the watch of the Third Sphere, he is told by some to be the youngest of them but not even Mateus, his guardian, knows his age saying he could be even older than Ciel or younger than Luz.
  • Real Men Wear Pink – Mune and Kurono know how to sew clothes, cook and wash clothes and to these chores often, not to mention Mune takes a liking to sewing after Nell was happy when he fixed her clothes and doll. Also Lakas and Chakra know how to cook too and is almost always wearing a red robe with pink details.

    • Gungnir Vjaya, the Thunder Embodied. He is known as this thanks to his supreme control over the thunders, being able to cause thunderstorms at will and resist even to the most violent of them. Gungnir is also known as the “Perfect Spear”, fame he gained with his most deadly skill which never misses. Supposedly.
    • Killio Sener, the Knight of Hearts. A case of joke and serious epithet given by his on unit since Killio is an irremediable flirter and does this in the battlefield with pretty girls. He is also called like this since he has the habit of killing his enemies by stabbing them in the heart with a single, clean and quick stab.
    • Vincen Gedaliah, the Iron Lord.
    • Vargas d’Moserite, the Golden Baron. Name given thanks to Vargas armory which is mostly made by the finest gold and precious gem found in Heulwen which is no problem for him since the d’Moserite family is the richest of the entire empire.
    • Ienze Bartone, the Starlight.
    • Zopenir Abanre, the Shadow Sovereign. Famed epithet of Zopenir he achieved by controlling any shadow to use as defense or offense without any assistance of any spirit at all.
    • Mistrela Baceri, the Tormenting Nightmare. Name given after Mistrela’s famed ability to link herself or someone to other people so synchronize wounds and multiply the number of people she can kill at same time; she gained that nick also since she has pleasure in making people do the Sadistic Choice whenever someone fights her.
    • Lerivol Almero, aka Kayres Leminche, the Angel of Death. He attained this title once he saved the entire capital of Koldobika in an almost lost battle raising the morale of his army and taking on an entire battalion by himself also killing the Imperial General commanding the troops at that time decreasing the morale of the enemy to nothing and thus making them retreat with this saving his home too.
    • Lob “Tuxedo” Treia or simply Tuxedo. The best, most requested, wanted and feared assassin of Korelle is also a very polite man with fine tastes be it for clothes (hence his epithet), food and habits. Only to hear the Tuxedo has aimed you is enough for one to make his testament and just wait since the assassin has never lost even once a target and will not stop until he finished the job he was given, even if that means going to other continents or purposefully getting arrested to follow the targeted person.
    • Hideki Musashi, the Samurai. Hideki is the most known fighter of Korelle and also made a lot of fame in Drogen by defeating countless opponents, he had self given the title since he liked the culture and honor of the warrior of a legend he decided to follow and become one as well. Hideki became vastly known in Drogen after defeating Mirakar Alstru, a high ranked officer of Lueius, with the scabbard of his sword only.
    • Livanos Vangar, the Godhand. Famed after a technique he developed and put the same name, it is strong enough to bring down a house in a single blow and can crack a mountain with ease.
  • Reformed Criminal - Luna, she had a good reason for becoming a thief and almost an assassin in first place.
    • Nearly every member of the Revoltz.
  • Religious Bruiser - Chakra Luseen, Elena Zaner and Livanos Vangar.

    • Mune's biological parents. The father, Libeto, was member of a nameless group, which nevertheless people label them as the “Null Division”, which was made only of the most powerful Magic Knight of Renelle and the mother, Amelia, was a high member of the Celestial Valkyries the female unit composed by absolute masters of weapons and magic who even the Imperial Generals would think thrice before engaging one in combat. Go figure why the son is so good at fighting.
    • Dr. Kayres Leminche. He was the most feared Imperial General of the entire Drogen and the only known person in the world to have ever defeated the Swordsmaster, Makai Kensaru, but deserted to Korelle after countless and senseless battles and killing. Thanks to the devotion of him and his master who taught him everything about medicine he could leave a rather normal life curing people somewhat trying to repent for his numerous battles.

Mune: *talking about Sophitia* She's a snobbish noble which lived only to spent all her father's money in stupid useless crappy things and can do nothing but complain, complain and— *Kurono and Eclair facepalming* She's... Just behind me isn't she...? *turns to his back* Oh Crap she really is. Hi there Sophi’.

    • Adelrei chews out the high-elves, who disdain about everyone else than themselves, while she was in Drogen in a speech, where she talking in Tranquil Fury mode:
Adelrei: You do talk about equality and humility and how humans are merciless savage creatures. However I have yet to see a human loathe its own child even if it is a half breed. I have yet to see humans label each other as “obscure humans” or “renegade humans”. It is because your disdain they started to do the same to the half-elf-human people, it was not by their hands this rage against each other started and none of you seek for any sign of peace that you so all talk and brag about and this is getting to the point beyond repair. Your arrogance to think you all are so superior to any other being in the world disgust me to no point and speak all you want, but you high-elves with your failed and archaic logic are as cruel as the humans you so much detest. High-elves you all are nothing but a whole horde of hypocrites afraid of anything that can defy what you call perfection, this will bring your end sooner than you say the humans will do to themselves, yet you all refuse to see this. I won’t bother myself trying to talk some sense to you anymore, after all you all will ignore my advice and warnings just as you did to everything else from “the Outside”. Farewell high-elves, may we don’t meet ever again.

While Mune hands back the halo Luz notes he is very reluctant about his decision, she then gives him one of her feathers telling Mune he will know how to use its power when the time comes.
  • She Is All Grown Up – Rumi, Ulani and Luna mainly after the first Time Skip.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely - Played for laughs when Kurono visited Belgemine and saw Mune wearing the fancy clothes of the Dante family, he laughed a lot for the anger of Mune.
    • Mune again in the Renelle’s Night Gala, he surprised Sophitia who never thought she'd see him in a tuxedo with brushed hair and behaving like a gentleman, he even danced waltz with her without stepping on her feet. Mune clearly stated he only did this for her and he'd never ever do the same thing again.
    • Eclair in the the Graduation Ball of the Azure Academy, she had done this once and Mune even lampshaded it.
Mune: I almost forgot how pretty you get in a fancy dress with some nice hair curls and make up.

Mune: As if I freaking could do that, do you think I find fun sneezing all the time? That’s nothing like I can shoo with a thunder or a sword y’know!
Kaili: You could take medicine every once in a while too...
Mune: That bitter thing? No thanks. Why can’t someone cast a magic to heal me as fast as I can snap my finger?
Sophitia: Because our magic can only heal external wounds like hematomas, cuts, bleeding and even some internal wounds, but not sickness like flu, nauseas, colds or fevers! (Although Celestie did use her magic to lower fever temperature like she did to Kaili...)
Mune: And you say that’s magic.
    Sophitia: What did you say?
    Mune: Nothing. Nothing at all.

    • Mune after fighting Gungnir and pushing himself way too much to the point his elemental started consuming his own body and would eventually kill him sometime. He got better only thanks to Rumi who mysteriously made the legendary Panacea to cure him.. Eclair suffered from a similar disease who Mune had.

  • Smoking Is Cool - Kurono smokes a "medicinal" herb to relieve him from some stress.
    • After the first Time Skip Mune would start smoking too, though never near Eclair as she scolds him if she ever smells a bit of smoke, her health issues don't help either. Mune would eventually stop smoking as soon Lute got pregnant of Emilia.
    • Cachaça is another who smokes like a flare and several times asked for either Kurono’s or Mune’s cigarettes, but also always offers one to them whenever he has one spare.
  • Snow Means Death - Literally in the capital of Koldobika and Lueius where the snow is gray-black and poisonous thanks for decades, if not centuries, of non stopping pollution. Most people almost don't live in those places neither near it for a good reason as even the water where the snow falls in became unsafe to touch.
    • When the Pathfinders went to Koldobika's capital everyone had to use at least masks while Ulani had to wear protective gears especially crafted for her as her race is VERY vulnerable and sensitive to the weather, especially polluted ones as they came to learn when she got sick shortly after setting foot on Drogen.
  • So Long, Suckers! - Slips tries to do this and almost gets killed in the process.
  • Sorting Algorithm of Evil - Justified or subverted or averted. While Korelle has few people with elemental powers but high combat proficiency, Drogen has people who was born and raised just to fight after all it’s a land burnt in the flames of war. After Mune came back from the first time on Drogen he even lampshaded that fighting in Korelle is totally different from fighting in Drogen. Archalia however holds power beyond what they saw in Drogen since the pure-blooded Archalians are as strong as demi-gods.
Mune: It seems that every place we move on we fight more dangerous dudes… I’m glad we returned to the good old Korelle with its normal bandits with no elemental shit.
  • Spectacled Sadist - Maestrel Gallawood.
  • Standard Royal Court - The only seem is at the kingdom of Belgemine where half of it is corrupted by Princess Rahni Carmilla.
  • Stepford Smiler – Adiana Macha Dante, her entire family is all about one trying to get advantage over other just to become the heir to the Dante's fortune and legacy, since she was a child her only friends was Kimi and Monica, who she'd lost the trust later. Also her parents pay even less attention to her just because she is a girl and only give lesser jobs for her to do leaving her with a huge inferiority complex.
    • Eclair was sent and left in the Azure Academy by her family as she had no skill in trading goods, the De Luni business, they only send her money enough so she can pay her monthly fee and not go back home, it gets worse when she receives a letter from her parents saying if she fails in graduating she will be banned from her family. She keeps smiling in order mask her true feelings and takes some medicine to treat a bit of her depression.
    • Celestie, after decades of loneliness she would learn to smile even with no reason just not trying to remember her condition, being a half-elf-human didn’t help her either since most humans disdain elves and vice-versa.
    • Adelrei lost her family and her step family leaving her with an immense feeling of guilty over everything that happened, this left her in a state she is very afraid of losing those she cares for, but even so she decides to keep her calm and natural state in order to keep everyone in her group united and in the same pace.
    • Mune, as he still blames himself for his past mistakes that left him with an enormous fear of disappointing people who he cares for. He is a Deadpan Snarker and smiles near-constantly to mask the sadness of his feeling of guilty and self disgust. Only people who are really close to him are able to recognize when his smile is genuine. He's also very afraid of losing people he likes. Even after traveling with him for quite a time his friends would only come to know everything after Kaili let it slip during a conversation after Mune had a quarrel with her and decided to stay away from the group for a while to steam off.
    • Lakas tries to hide his total lack of self-esteem by playing cheerful tones, smiling and being "almost" a womanizer. Sophitia was one of few people that really took Lakas under her wings and decided to make him smile naturally. Both times he left Sophitia after their marriage it was because he was thinking he wasn't good enough to stay at her side side and was being only a burden, needless to say his wife got very pissed when she learned this.
    • Slips is a laid-back, but cunning, thief who is always making fun of everyone around him and loves doing pranks to anyone he find too serious. However only Karl and Lieda knows about his past and why he can't even show his face in public without causing a trouble or two.
    • Presea until she met the Pathfinders she had fake her smile and ditzy habits trying never to remember what happened to her.
  • Strike Me Down with All of Your Hatred – Maluria tries this against Mune in Nahilus that because this was the only way for her to win since it is hate, anger, angst whatever negative feeling that gives her power. The stronger is the desire to kill her, the stronger she will be.
  • Split Personality Merge – Pandora to herself and Mune he has proven worthy of controlling her.
  • Spring Is Late - Some of regions of Korelle suffers with this at times giving trouble at their harvesting.
    • Drogen has NO spring or any other season other than winter.
    • Archalia is always summer or spring since it’s above the clouds, interesting enough the own continent will create its rain so plants and harvest can survive, this greatly amazes Eclair.
    • Nahilus has a very random and weird season scale since its always changing its current location due to a very powerful magic that make the continent float aimlessly through the world.
  • Stoic Spectacles - Mune after he graduated in the Azure Academy, he wears one not because of sight issues, the lens are made of a special mineral which allows him to see if the elemental of a humans has already reacted and traces of energy scattered around places. He uses this resource a lot in battle too, to check what element his opponent has and prepare a counter to it.
  • Subordinate Excuse - Natasha is powerful enough to become even a third-rank General, but she refuses promotion in order to stay near Zurko. Her foster father and the one who gave her part of his blooded to save her life giving her combat abilities in first place.
  • Superpowered Evil Side - The Sinner's Fragment to this to people complete with the both side effects With Great Power Comes Great Insanity and The Corruption.
  • Stealth MentorSoldier Hellfor to Mune
  • Sword and Sorcerer - Eclair is skilled at arcane magic, but needs time to cast it without exhausting herself; Mune is always around to protect her.
    • Adelrei can use short casting magics but when Lieda is nearby to protect her she uses more powerful spells.
    • A trio is Lakas who uses magics takes a while to cast his spells in the meantime Cachaça and Chakra protects him.
    • Ulani is good at armed combat, but her true potential lies in her elemental powers and likewise she needs to be protected when she has to cast more powerful spells, Kurono usually takes care of this as he is protective over her.
  • Synchronization - General Mistrela Baceri has the power of making people physically linked to each other, if one get hurts the other linked will too in the same place. She also can make someone linked to herself when she's in a pinch, so if she dies so will the linked person.
  • Sword Beam - Mune's most common elemental attack.
  • Tagalong Kid – Nell to Mune in the Dante Manor and in the Azure Academy at times.
    • Rumi to Lieda while the Revoltz was going to Karonte.
    • Ulani to everyone from day to day while she is with the Pathfinders.
    • Rumi to Sophitia while the Pathfinders are on Drogen for the first time.
    • Anita to Mune while he was studying in the Azure Academy.
    • Sagita to Hideki during his training time.
    • Zale to Adelrei while he was under her teachings.
    • Emilia to Pandora in the last story segment.
  • Take a Third Option - Zan'el asked him if he either wanted to win and die or to lose and live.
Chakra: Win? Lose? Live? Die? You may ask me all questions this world has to offer. I only have a single wish: KILL YOU.
  • Taking You with Me - Averted. Gungnir Vjaya demanded all men under his command to evacuate the Vasilii Church and even asked if Mune had already left before he blew it to pieces with the last of his strength.
    • Zan’el tries this to Chrakra on its last attack. It works.
  • Tasty Gold - Kurono mainly is seemed doing this at times and so is Karl and Slips. Note that all are responsible for the money of the group.
    • Sophitia is responsible for the money of the Pathfinders too, but she rather press the money to check if it's real and even put some of her elemental on it to check its veracity.
  • Team Dad - Kurono, Cachaça and Zurko for the Pathfinders.
    • Vontres and Zeferio for the Revoltz.
  • Team Mom – Sophitia and Celestie for the Pathfinders.
    • Adelrei and Diore for the Revoltz.
  • Team Shot - Taken many at the most varied moments and collected by Mune.
    • The first was taken during the Scarlet festival with Mune and Luna only.
    • The second was taken still at the Scarlet festival with Mune, Kurono, Luna and Lakas. Chakra joined shortly after.
    • The third was taken in Belgemine with Mune accompanied by Adiana and Nell.
    • The forth upon the group's reunion at Karonte during its festival just before parting to Drogen. Mune, Ulani, Kurono, Luna, Lakas, Chakra, Sophitia and Cachaça were in this one, Celestie wasn’t present at the time.
    • The fifth was in a beautiful snowy day with aside of the stated characters Kaili, Celestie and Rumi also was there.
    • The sixth was asked by Kaili while she was on a date with Mune before they went into the empire of Lueius.
    • The seventh was after the group's return to Korelle at the local bar with everyone partying while Zurko, Mune, Kurono, Chakra and Cachaça are in a Drinking Contest with Mune and Chakra already passed out while Kurono has already given up. Kaili was the only who wasn’t in the picture.
    • The eighth was taken before the group parted ways again at Sophitia and Lakas’ home in a very cheerful dinner.
  • Technical Pacifist - Lakas, Chakra, Luna, Celestie, Diore, Adelrei and Karida.
  • Tear Jerker - When the elf township Courtia was blasted by the Chosen Nemesis killing about 90% of its population, at the funeral realized by Chakra the only ones who managed to hold their tears was Lakas, Sophitia, Kurono and Chakra. Celestie silently shed tears of sheer hate.
    • When Kaili is dying, her life span is at end, Mune stayed by her side all the time, she's weak and barely can walk without help, yet she just keep smiling and telling Mune not to worry because she's just tired and tomorrow she'll get better. Her last wish is to see the sea and Mune goes for the closest beach, leaving his group for a while. While they are sit in the sand Kaili thanks Mune for everything, they laugh, talk for a while and she finally find out why she loves Mune so much, not why because she was made to do love him it’s because he was the first who made her feel human after so much time hiding and running. Kaili kisses Mune for the last time, she then gazes into the horizon and slowly close her eyes passing away while still embracing Mune, who can't hold himself anymore and burst into tears.
    • Cachaça was forced to kill his own daughter because she got corrupted by Agony in such state she can never contain her berserk status. Darika, a pure-blooded Dragonian, was a lonely person and Cachaça was the only person who cared for her as everyone though her as a monster, while she was dying he remembered the last day he had with her when she finally admitted Cachaça Rokefort as her father and family. He let howl a scream with mixed feeling of sadness and wrath and pledged revenge on Falmus Ozero.
    • While fighting the Grand Archalians, Celestie is mortally wounded by the Albus Fercio, Mune takes her desperate to Ciel who keep trying to heal her. Mune goes back to help the others and manage to expulse them with the help of the Revoltz and the Third Sphere, he goes back to check on Celestie just to know she died since Ciel couldn't do a thing as she was wounded by a very well made copy of the Holy Lance Longinus, which negates every aura from a person who has Archalian blood. In a blast of rage Mune runs outside and yells as much loud as he can that he will kill every and last Grand Archalian. Ulani fainted upon knowing of her best friend died.
    • At Lakas and Sophitia's funeral none of the Pathfinders held their tears. Mune didn’t appear at first because he was too afraid of crying in front of everyone, he didn’t hold his tears while saying his last goodbye to them.
    • Eclair’s death at Yggdrasil. Mune was the one who had to deliver the finishing attack since only someone very close and attached to Armele Kaati’s vessel would be able to pierce her Mana Shield, at first he refused to do so still desperately trying to think in a way to save Eclair, only after hearing a message from Eclair herself in a very brief moment when she regained her will Mune used his most powerful attack destroying Armele this time for once and for all. Needless to say it took him a good while and very heartwarming and forgiving words from Lute, Eclair’s younger sister, to drive him somewhat out of the trauma.
    • Mune's goodbye after he activates the Life Core and is ready to fight the Lueius army, he apologizes for attacking his friends and for everything stupid he had done so far and then smiles before he flies away saying he will be back soon. Alara, the only conscious sheds a tear knowing that Mune won't come back.
  • Tears of Blood - Literally cried by Mune when his degenerative disease got in terminal state.
  • Tears of Joy - Mune shed these when he got back from Drogen. He did go straight to Belgemine, so he could meet Nell again as soon as possible.
  • Tears of Remorse – The high-elf Jishon Masatar after his utter defeat at hands of Celestie, he noticed she still genuinely cared for him despite everything he did to her because Jishon, even though mostly accidentally, taught her a lot about her own nature and elemental powers which she used to survive in Drogen and Korelle.
    • Brutally cried by Mune after killing Eclair with his own hands.
  • The Atoner – Karl after his Heel Realization.
    • Karida Cieba who lives only to serve and protect the person who she lived only to kill: Luz.
    • Lerivol Almero who goes back to his home after decades of self-exiling in order to prevent the misuse of what was made with the schematics he stole from Soldier Hellfor: the Chosen Nemesis.
  • The Caretaker - General Zeres to Mune as she still looks upon him as her deceased son, Shiro Silvar.
    • Mune himself feels that he's responsible for Rumi, Nell and later Anita.
  • The Cavalry - Zeres' company who went to face one of the Lueius major armies while Mune did his best to hold them using the Life Core to protect Renelle's capital. In the real part, when Mune awoke from the dream, he fought with his friends under the commands of the few military authorities that were still in Renelle. They held as much as they could, but when everything seemed lost Zeres’ company arrived just like in Mune's dream. It ended up it still wasn't enough thanks to the Chosen Nemesis and other war weaponry until Mune's parents get to the battlefield with soldiers they reunited from the independent nations scattered around Drogen.
  • The Dulcinea Effect - Inverted with Lisa and Mune. Somewhat justified since Mune looks a lot with her deceased fiancé, Shiro, though Dr. Kayres state that she had no romantic interest on him, she thinks of him as a younger sibling of Shiro or something. It turns to be true as when Mune finally decides to go home after a long time while passing at Merito he re-meets Lisa who is by the time married and pregnant, but still working at Dr. Kayres’ clinic.
  • The Empath – Sophitia. She can understand people’s feeling with ease and see if someone is being forced to do something or doing by free-will. Used by comical and serious issues.
  • The Empire - There are four at Drogen: Renelle, Lueius, Koldobika and Heulwen and the rest are independent nations.
  • The Glasses Come Off - Mune, after the Azure Academy, when he has to fight he asks for a time to remove his glasses as it is expensive and people of the Academy are already upset about him breaking his glasses all the time.
  • The Glasses Gotta Go - Eclair had no needs for glasses once she knew it was her overload of stress that was making her sight sore.
  • The Glomp - There are some of this all around.
    • Lieda did this to her sister, Rosa, when she saw she was safe after the raid of Dante's manor.
    • Ulani did this to Kurono as soon she meets him again, in Karonte, after a long time, that only after she remembered of whom he was.
      • Ulani does this often to anyone in the Pathfinders whenever she’s tired and wants someone to carry her, since everyone knows that her mobility on land is very difficult no one really complains.
    • Vanessa did this to her brother after meeting him again.
    • Eclair did this to Mune after he won the duel against Pandora.
  • The Medic - The obvious examples are Dr. Kayres Leminche and Dr. Hustean Jephunneh.
    • Subverted with Rumi who carries anesthetic and other medicines but she doesn't know how much to use frequently leading her into putting people in sleep or dizzy state because of that.
    • Sophitia, Kurono, Celestie, Kaili and Ulani are this for the Pathfinders. Sophitia, Celestie and Ulani uses their elemental spells to heal wounds while Kaili and Kurono take care of the aftermaths like changing bandages and using medicines.
    • Lieda, Adelrei and Vontres for the Revoltz. Adelrei uses her Dark elemental to heal wounds while Vontres and Lieda take care of treating it with remedies and medicines.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You - Literally, the only thing that can harm, and thus kill the pure-blooded Archalians is the Holy Lance of Longinus. Which Sezari has.
  • The Penance - Karida, who was once part of the Grand Archalians, has scars on her face and arms made by her in order to always remember the shame she feels of every time she tried to assassinate Luz.
  • The Pollyanna – Philana Lilia Amestrade in the Azure Academy had everything she needed to be another Stepford Smiler especially because her family absolutely ignores her existence because she has zero competencies in administrating the finances of her family’s business and is amazingly clumsy ending up almost always blowing up herself every time she tries to use her elemental powers. However to “Lana” the few friends she has is more than enough just to smile and keep going.
    • Alara Aylin. Despite the fact she was born with a malformed wing, which makes her cripple for flying, and had past half of her life in a prison since her parents were very dangerous criminals while being labeled “infant of transgression” didn’t make her grow to be anti-social neither with rage against everyone, she only had pity for those who would consider her a threat because of her parents and smile towards every single burden and difficult she had to face until she got free upon her parents execution. To complete she had black-purple wings which are considered a very bad omen to the person and those close to them in Archalia, so even after she was freed no one wanted to get near her. Presea became her best friend not only because she is an Archalian too, but to learn how she can smile so naturally while having such heartbreaking past. The person who made her to become this was Luz who kept visiting her everyday until the Grand Archalians started to act and even risked herself to visit Alara a last time to tell her she wouldn’t be able to visit her for a while.
  • The Power of Blood - In order to make magic more powerful some people offer their blood to the spirits. The catch is that only "corrupted" spirits accepts this and the more often you do this greater are the chances The Corruption will get you.
  • The Quiet One - Zeferio only speaks whenever he feels he needs to, which is rare enough.
  • These Are Things Man Was Not Meant to Know - The schematics of the Chosen Nemesis, torture magic, the recipe for the Perfect Materia...
  • The Stoic – Kurono, Zurko, Vontres, Sarshek Ruren and a lot more.
  • The Unfavorite - Adiana in the Dante family, Eclair in De Luni family and Lakas in his family.
  • The Unfought – Albus Fercio, who dies before Mune can get his hands at him. He killed Celestie.
  • The War Has Just Begun - Said by Zeres after the Pathfinders saved Renelle's capital.
Zeres: Peace? The meaning of this word has been long lost here. Peace is naught, but a dream for the foolish. This vow is nothing, but what will become another reason for us to start yet another war.
  • The Woobie – After so many losses and ''unpleasant victories'' about anyone of the Pathfinders could be seen as this. Especially Mune who lost two girlfriends, his adoptive brother and nearly half of his friends while saving people, when some weren’t even worth the sacrifices.
  • The Worf Effect - From all people Mune is the major victim of this, about everyone who entered in the Pathfinders and fought him won. Ulani was a subversion, she attacked Mune the first time they met because he was fishing, but he still managed to tangle Ulani with his fishing rod and take her away from the water. However when they fought before parting to Drogen Ulani won.
  • This Is Something He's Got To Do Himself - Played for laughs when Kurono wanted to help Mune when he was about to talk with Kaili, but Lakas didn’t let it.
Lakas: There are things a man must do by himself.
  • Through His Stomach - How Luna was accepted in the group while still being thought as a thief and with almost no trust, especially from Kurono.
    • Sophitia also got Lakas' interest by cooking to him. Kaili would do the same thing for Mune after Sophitia gave her the same tip.
  • Throw the Book at Them - Eclair's weapon of choice when Mune annoys her enough.
  • Thunderbolt Iron - The Shin Zantstsu.
  • Time Skip - One of 3 Years between the Azure Academy and Tales of Eclair and Mune segments.
  • Time Stands Still - On Cinqe, the last land. For some reason no matter how much time the Pathfinders stood in a place it would never get night or morning. Interesting enough as much as they moved the time would change as if they were the ones who would decide between day and night.
  • Tranquil Fury – Chakra gets into this when he finally meets the killer of his father and is stuck into another when he finally corners the criminal and challenges it to his last fight.
  • Trapped in Another World - Whoever fails at Pandora's challenge will get caught in this. The difference is that it isn’t a Fate Worse than Death, but a ever lasting dream, more like a Lotus-Eater Machine, of what the person in question would like to happen to itself the most, become famous, rich, a great warrior, have the most powerful magic, married to the one you love and happily ever after and so on… This actually is a gimmick from Pandora to test one’s will and fortitude, Mune almost gave in after realizing he could be with Kaili again, see Cobita alive, see his disappeared adoptive brother and have his two families joined, but fought out of her illusion after he remembered his friends and why he challenged Pandora in first place.
  • Truce Zone - No fights for the war between the four empires of Drogen is allowed inside the independent nations, this made those places hideout for many people who are involved with it, though the independent nations most likely expulse people who are in this situation out of their lands. To enter or cross into the territory of these zones requires a especial authorization from whatever empire the truce zone is.
  • Too Good For This Sinful Earth - The Grand Archalians only kill people that they think who have the Incorruptible Pure Pureness, or those who get in their way.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl - Luna and Sophitia. Luna had no mother and almost no contact with the "outer" world until she met Mune. Sophitia tries to teach her how to be more like a girl and not like “those ruffians” while Luna sees nothing wrong with it.
    • Lieda and Adelrei are this too; Lieda constantly asks how she can be more lady-like like Adelrei, but the elf keeps repeating she should stick as herself much to Lieda’s dismay.
      • Lieda (again) and Diore. Lieda is not very shy about saying whatever she is thinking or what is bothering her while Diore only wonders how she can do things like that, however Diore admires how bold she can be and due to the age proximity Lieda doesn’t feels so bad that she isn’t nearly as feminine as Diore is.
    • Presea and Alara. Presea is upbeat and bubbly and really likes to get pranks on everyone and always flies away whenever someone gets mad at her and loves to spend her time taking flight and showing off to everyone, Alara on the other hand is mostly calm and carefree loving to sleep and pull any bad feather in her wings to keep them pretty and likes to sew damaged clothes, which Presea always gives to her since she is mostly crashing on something and wrecking her outfit.
  • Tonight Someone Dies - The only time which the Fortune Teller really warns the Pathfinders is when Before Mune reaches Yggdrasil, where he would fight Armele Kaati’s avatar, Eclair de Luni in Yggdrasil. Mune would end up having to kill his girlfriend to save Korelle and Yggdrasil itself.
Fortune Teller: The shadows are closing, lights are fading and fire is stirring the omen...
Mune: I didn't ask you anything freako. Now back off.
Fortune Teller: Hear the voice of those who were called to the other plane. They tremble, they scream knowing one among you will soon join them.
Mune: *glares at the Fortune Teller* Y'know... You're REALLY pissing me off now. Say one more thing like that and I'll get to see that face yours covered with your blood or whatever you have in your veins. *Fortune teller goes away freaked*
    Kurono: What got to you?
Mune: It was weird, almost fun when he was babbling about everything, but saying anything relating to death to people I like, even if it's a joke, is playing in an open field full of black thunder clouds.
  • Tragic Monster - When Leila's darkness had taken over her will and spirit Shiro had to kill her, earlier she made him promise he'd do it if that ever happened.
    • Presea after her betrayal on Sezeri, she was morphed into a grotesque fallen angel creature and was mind raped until insanity and was fought by Zurko, Sophitia and Adelrei. She does get better through Ascension’s powers, though.
    • Darika. Cachaça’s daughter who he had to fight and kill during the second trip to Drogen.
    • Eclair de Luni who was made as the vessel of Armele Kaati, a disposed living core of Yggdrasil who went insane after centuries of imprisonment and took Eclair who was one of the very few people who was able to use Arcane element. The Pathfinders tried to find a way to separate both, but end up having to kill Armele AND Eclair.
  • Traveling at the Speed of Plot - Not that the world needs to be saved or something. Except for Archalia and Yggdrasil.
  • Trauma Induced Amnesia – Mune forgot about his parents and anyone related to them after watching Soldier being brutally assaulted and nearly mauled to death protecting while him he was just a toddler mind you.
  • TsundereFemales examples
    • Sophitia acts like a Type A towards Lakas and she is married to him.
    • Lieda is another Type A and is never shy to tell people how bad they did screw up, but she is very shy to the person she likes and can’t hold herself from stuttering and speaking embarrassing things about her own self, Adelrei is always trying to help her with this problem.
    • Kaili is a Type B being initially a Blank Slate but she starts getting better while receiving the continuous support of everyone, especially Sophitia. When she eventually learns what love really is and notices she is in love with Mune she starts trying to help him and at a time even asked for him to teach her how to fight, in which Mune shocked promptly refused as he already knew how she abhorred violence.
    • Eclair is another Type B being nice and calm for most of parts only Mune is able to annoy her more than often and for a very obvious reason. To enforce this Mune always wonders if Eclair is really the girl who saved him from the utter embarrassment at the Autumn Ball and not the “Book thrower tormenter” like she is. That until his Love Epiphany
    • Diore is yet another Type B as she is mostly rational and an easygoing peace lover, however Karl often gets her out of her typical status by saying what he should keep for himself.
      • Karida acts fiercely as the Type A towards Slips who is always trying to help her and gets often ditched sometimes harshly.
    • Males examples
      • Mune is an odd case, he is Type A to about everyone he likes and B to people he only met and a mix of both to the girls he likes.
      • Kurono is a very obvious Type A and whenever he gets close to the girl he likes he stops being snide and throws away his cigarette as fast as possible.
      • Karl is a very obvious Type A mainly because of his shyness and lack of skill with women.
  • Twice Shy - Mune and Kaili and happened also with Eclair.
  • Umbrella of Togetherness - A non-romantic example is Kurono to Sophitia when she argued, again, with Lakas. Another non-romantic is Ulani who did this to Mune when he came back from the fishing town Hesperos after making a gravestone memorial to Kaili.
    • Mune does this when he ran after Lute once she started her Defrosting Ice Queen thing. While at this he finally sees Lute being honest with herself for the first time admitting how afraid she is of being rejected like Eclair was, how envious she is of her sister because she can’t be gentle and graceful like her and that what she wants the most is a person like Mune, who she could trust completely and blindly just like her Eclair does.
  • Uncanny Valley Girl - Ciel, she's the only of the pure-blooded Archalians who can hide her wings and halo at will. Since she looks, act and dresses herself like a child, only wearing a simple white gown and uses no shoes, no one really noticed she was one until the Third Sphere had to take her back to her church scolding her for going out without warning.
  • Unstoppable Rage – Kurono was stuck in this when Bane Tate mocked the memory of his family. To say he went batshit insane after that is an understatement.
    • Mune upon the reveal of who was the mastermind of the Grand Archalians, he went into a short deaf moment of Heroic BSOD and when he snapped he summoned a BFS with Pandora and charged with all his hatred while the person was probably in the middle of a Hannibal Lecture or a "The Reason You Suck" Speech.
    • Mess with Lakas' wife and you'll see he's not the pacifist bard he seems to be. Rognus learned this the worst way possible.
  • Upgrade Artifact - The Wings of Icarus which doesn't increases the user's strength, but the speed and gives him/her a unique pair of wings. However it requires a lot of practice to keep it activated, or else it can de-activate while in mid-air, thus most likely killing the user pretty much like in the mythology.
  • Villainous Breakdown - Gungnir got one complete with a My God, What Have I Done? upon his defeat from Mune.
    • Sezari Ielle had one after the Holy Lance of Longinus was lost and another after the rest of The Grand Archalians betrayed and left her to the Third Sphere once the Revoltz and the Pathfinders defeated her.
  • Villainous BSOD - Gungnir Vjaya, twice in the same battle. First after missing his “Perfect Lightning Spear” attack for the first time ever against Mune and then when he noticed his thunder based attacks had almost no effect on the enraged Mune, both with the usual This Cannot Be!.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds - Kurono and Mune are and how. One frequently throws thunder at the other just because they know the target will be mostly unharmed due to the near immunity to the same element attack and they keep insulting each one as if they had no respect for the other. In battle Kurono numerous times threw his katana, sheathed, on Mune’s face to save him when he was disarmed while Mune moved him away from the danger by blasting the ground near Kurono’s feet while a single shout would be enough, just because he finds it fun.
    • Karl and Slips are this. Karl spend most of his time talking with him by insulting Slips’ habits and tastes while the other do about the same and they love to arm pranks to each other in a nice way to show their friendship and keep one sharpness to traps to the other. Whenever in a fight they work perfectly as a team with Karl throwing Slips towards the enemy if necessary and Slips jumping and stomping on Karl’s head for extra impulse too.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend - While Sophitia thinks violence is not the best solution she's not shy when it comes to defend her husband be it in a speech or the practical way using her rapier and light based attacks.
    • Eclair is also very willing to blast some arcane energy on someone who dares to pick on her boyfriend.
  • Wangst - After Kaili's death Mune though nothing would end up well to him and people around him would eventually get screwed and he start to act like a jerkass all around not caring for what he said and constantly offending even his friends. Fortunately it didn’t last long since Kurono soon got pissed at him and delivered a punch straight to his face followed by a lecture.
Kurono: Do you think you're the only who lost the one who you deeply loved Mune? Stopping looking at your own belly hole and being so selfish for a while. My home was completely destroyed and I lost everything: my family, friends and even things I thought I didn't care for, but even after that I didn't start to act as a inhuman cretin like you're being. You've helped me gain trust on people again, don't let it go waste and Mune... You've been complaining for a long time you had nothing to care and lose that's why you acted so insanely and carelessly, now you have us all, stop acting like that.
  • Walking the Earth - How most of things happen to everyone.
  • Weak, but Skilled - Mune, physically speaking. During a random Seinfeldian Conversation one asked other who would be the, physically, strongest. After an arm wrestling contest Chakra won and was followed by Cachaça, Kurono, Lakas, Sophitia, Luna and Mune as the big loser much to everyone, especially Mune himself, surprise.
  • Weapon Of Mass Destruction / Phlebotinum Bomb - The Chosen Nemesis
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist - The Lueius Empire who wants the unification of Drogen by “conquering” the other three empires. I.E: By conquering it meant annihilate the other three.
  • What Does She See in Him? - Kaili is asked several times by Sophitia, Luna and Ulani why she really likes Mune, she only says that she feels comfortable when near him. Also there the fact she was made to love Mune. Kaili also found a good answer to Mune, but only at brink of her death turning it into a Tear Jerker.
    • Once again the trio asks the same thing to Eclair, this time with curious Celestie and Presea hearing too. Eclair only says that Mune is very caring person and that he won’t ever leave someone in need as long he can help the person and don’t judge people by appearances. She also states that she likes Mune because he’s always carefree and almost never holds grudges even though his sarcasm and short fuse sometimes really get on her nerves.
  • "What Now?" Ending - People from the Pathfinders ask themselves this from time to time and before splitting, most answer it leading to a clue where and what they'll do off screen.
  • What the Fu Are You Doing? - Mune whenever he tries to use Hideki's weapons, mainly the tonfas and the three-section-staff.
  • Where It All Began - Cachaça's last fight with General d'Moserite is held at the top floor of the d'Moserite Bastion, his home.
    • Karl finally found his parents after a long travel at the village where he was born.
    • When Karida had her breakdown she begged to know where she should go to understand herself and her acts, Luz promptly told her to go "where it all began".
    • The place the Revoltz decide to live is where the original group gathered for the first time: Karonte.
  • Whip It Good - Sophitia's second weapon is a fancy whip which she uses to "discipline" people around her at times.
  • White-Haired Pretty Girl - Maria "Luna" Kerista and people keep lampshading it.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity - The Sinner's Fragment and the Inner Demons of Imperial Generals of Lueius.
  • Willfully Weak - Most Imperial Generals of Lueius who couldn't use elemental powers where forcefully infused with some kind of elemental demon or spirit so they could keep with other Imperial Generals who had natural elemental powers, whenever they are forced to use the so called demon almost all go crazy in wave of Unstoppable Rage with a great slippage on their sanity and gain an homicidal desire of killing anything that moves, friend or not. What’s worse? They remember every detail of it after the thing calms down.
  • Winged Humanoid - The people from Archalia have wings, though they can’t actually fly with them unless they practice a lot beforehand.
  • Wizarding School - The Azure Arts Academy, Magic Institute Soiree and technically even the Crimson Order.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds – The demi-god Overi Sobran who was sealed by the Grand Archalians long, long ago who used his wife as a sacrifice. Needless to say when he broke free after centuries he wasn’t very pleased to remember and wanted to crash Archalia on Drogen to purge the land of sinners and he gets dangerously close to succeed before his fall.
  • Wooden Katanas - Kurono use this as, mostly, non-lethal weapon. He uses a bokken when brute force is needed and a shinai if he wants to "hurt less" who is in the way.
  • Woolseyism - Some stuff will get this since most jokes from Portuguese can't be carried to English.
  • World of Badass - All races, except the humans, can use Elemental Powers, Ki Attacks at will and naturally, though only Drogen is at constant war. Interesting enough Korelle is the only place who has 98% of population made of humans. Still even humans can be dangerous if they want, check Badass Normal for more info.
  • "World of Cardboard" Speech - Mune delivers one when he's definitely cornered and about to be defeated by Azure Pandora.
Mune: Have I ever said that I'm perfect? Far from that. You said you know everything that happens in that damn place, so you know I never wanted power for anything selfish. You wanna know why I don't want to lose? It ain't because I want your powers, it's because there are many people I want to see again and for that *beat* I can't just let you absorb me. And to protect people I care for, to help them to help MYSELF, that why I challenged you so I wouldn't be the same helpless moron who was nothing but a fucking burden on Drogen!!!
    • Celestie gives one to Jishon when he tries to overpower her summoning a corrupted elemental.
Celestie: You sadden me. You would sell your soul for such petty reason and still not get anywhere close from what you aim. Even if I am not near close your power I won't lose to you. Sure I was once too afraid of my very own power, but people around me helped to overcome that. You said I was nothing but a lonely child lost in despair doomed by my own powers... You're wrong. YOU ARE the one who's alone and YOU ARE the one who is doomed not by your power, not by your arrogance and neither greed, but ME.
  • World Tree – Actually Continent Tree, each continent has a Mother tree which is the source of the balance of every single element in the place. Korelle has Yggdrasil, Drogen has Martel, Archalia has Eden, Nahilus has Dryad and Cinqe has Samiridia. Oddly enough only people of Drogen really knows what they are for.
    • In Korelle some know about Yggdrasil, but only few scholars knows its crucial purpose for the continent and one of them is Eclair who goes to Yggdrasil alone already under Armele’s influence to investigate the reason it is decaying making Korelle suffer with unusual weather changes.
    • The tree of Drogen is nearly dead due to centuries of usage of war machinery which abuses of the Mana of the continent; if Martel dies Drogen will become even more unstable than it is already. Martel is under the very strict protection of the empire of Renelle and other independent nation who also cares for it.
  • Worthy Opponent - Sophitia to General Ienze.
    • Adelrei to General Zopenir, both uses black magic and are very skilled at it, weren't for complications they could end up even as friends.
  • Wouldn't Hit a Girl - Averted in many cases. Mune dispose his sword just to beat Lieda with bare hands. It came down that it was a very bad idea.
    • Slips didn't want to fight Luna not because she is a girl, but because "fighting hurts" also he was lazy; he did fight her anyway because he didn't want the others think he chickened out.
    • Cachaça always says he wouldn't hit a lady, after he got some beating he politely says "I've changed my mind".
  • You ALL Share My Story - Mune shouts it when drunk upon a time before slamming his head on the table passing out drunk, much to his surprise everyone takes it seriously.
  • You Gotta Have Blue Hair - Lampshaded by Mune when he met Eclair the second time.
    *Mune staring at Eclair
    Eclair: Is something the matter?
Mune: Just your hair... It's kinda... Blue? Holy crap what made you dye it like that?... Or is it a wig?
    Eclair: ... It's natural.
  • You Have Got to Be Kidding Me! – Said word by word by Kurono when Lakas and Mune accepted Luna in the group just because she told she knew how to cook.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness – Played for laughs while Mune’s friends were preparing a romantic dinner for him and Kaili in order to help him overcome his shyness.
Sophitia: Is everything set for them?
    Ulani: Aye!
Celestie: I-I’m not sure if we should be doing this...
Sophitia: He won’t to a thing to prove he likes her so we must help her!
Kurono: That’s very kind coming especially from a noble to a “plebeian”.
Sophitia: Now that’s rude. He is my friend too! (Though he still is a plebeian.)
Lakas: Now, now we have outlived our usefulness. Let us go before they come.
  • You Need to Get Laid - Said word by word from Mune to Kurono when he stressed out.
Kurono: Bloody freakin' HELL!! I do everything for this damn group travel safe! I check the route! I check the food! I check if everyone's fine! I can't leave ANYTHING TO YOU!! YOU!! MUNE!!!
Mune: Dude, seriously. You need to get laid. And Fast. *Kurono sits and proceeds facepalming*
  • You're Not My Father - Cachaça vs General d'Moserite
General d'Moserite: Rokefort my son... Have you gone mad? Raising your sword against me... Your OWN father?
Cachaça: Father?... I have no father. You killed the person who I was supposed to call that long ago when you corrupted your damn self with the power General d'Moserite.
General d'Moserite: So be it... I had given you time enough to think carefully and re-considerate.
Cachaça: A father wouldn't "give time" for a son to "re-considerate" General. Another sign you're just another person who I despite.
    General d'Moserite: Rokefort...
Cachaça: My name is Cachaça and don't ever call me by that name again General d'Moserite, you don't have the right.
  • You Said You Couldn't Dance - Inverted when Mune needed to dance waltz at the Masquerade Ball, but he didn't know how and Rosa thought Mune already knew.
    • Sophitia to Mune in the ball of Renelle. Mune really couldn't until he learned how at his time as a servant in the Dante manor.
  • Your Approval Fills Me with Shame – Played for laughs with Presea and Kurono:
Presea: Can I hop from this cliff?
    Kurono: Yea, sure go ahead.
Presea: Are you serious? That’s not nice I could die you know!
    Kurono: … You can fly.
Presea: Oh. That’s true… But that wasn’t nice anyway. You shouldn’t tell people to jump off cliffs, what if I was feeling suicidal?
    Kurono:What.
