Hello world, I am Devious Recital, a man that knows you don't particularly care what I have to say about myself, so I shall list tropes that apply to me here anyway. For my own amusement. Also, beware my fanfics , and know that I have a few Old Shames. But they probably aren't as bad as a lot of other people's. My newer stuff is still better though.
On this site, I stick mostly to reviewing and forum posting, but I will add the odd example here and there.
Devious Tropes (open to wiki magic)
- Appropriated Appellation: Just "Devious" if you will, or if you don't like typing, Doc. If you don't get it, my name abbreviates to DR, or Dr. Doctor. Doc.
- Asexuality
- Author Appeal: Want to make me like something? Take your female lead, make her a tsundere badass (usually with a flat chest and red hair), give her just the right level of power and I'll love you forever. It's an old concept, but one I never tire of. For video games, include plenty of options for theivery, stealth, assasination, and all the other things ninjas do. Even if the character who has the options isn't technically a ninja. Especially if the character isn't a ninja.
- Badass Arm Fold: ALL. THE. TIME.
- Berserk Button: While normally I am quite composed, if you ever make me look for something when it's urgent that I have to do something else, prepare for a Cluster F-Bomb.
- Blondes Are Assholes
- Brilliant, but Lazy: The former is debatable, the latter is not.
- Cloudcuckoolander
- Covert Pervert: I'm not interested in real people, but Rosie Palms I have met with many times. No one would believe how many times though.
- Deadpan Snarker: Goes hand in hand with my Insane Troll Logic defenses.
- Stepford Snarker: Downplayed, but sometimes all it seems I can do is speak sarcasitcally.
- Dismotivation: Who the hell needs change when they have everything they want?
- Hot Blooded Sideburns: My favorite physical characteristic about myself, though I wouldn't really say I'm Hot Blooded.
- Icy Blue Eyes: Don't expect to see them that often though.
- It Amused Me
- Glasses Pull: Normally, I wear contacts, but I LOVE using this trope when I am wearing glasses. It's one of the very few reasons I wear glasses anymore.
- Jerkass
- Jerkass Has a Point: My attitude is all the more frustrating when I'm right
- Large Ham
- Manipulative Bastard: When I feel like it, I can rape your mind. I'm better at the Hannibal Lecture than one might believe
- Minored In Asskicking: People usually see me as The Smart Guy, which makes it fun to tell them that I've climbed 10,000 foot peaks before
- Psychotic Smirk: People say I have a rather nice one
- Red Right Hand: What is this page not enough? Fine, go with the scar on my cheek then.
- Ridiculous Procrastinator: So, so much.
- Screw Destiny: I seem to be rather apt at this, accomplishing so much in spite of my terrible procrastination
- Shrinking Violet: I am on a computer, aren't I?
- Slobs Versus Snobs: Interestingly enough, I am both
- Slouch of Villainy: In one as I type this. My favorite pose.
- The Slacker: I'd get around to taking over the world if it didn't burn so many calories...
- The Stoic: Despite the Large Ham tag above, it is hard to make me feel something. When I do, I let loose like nobody's business, but usually, people say I look bored or somber.
- The Übermensch: I reject your reality and yeah you get the idea.
- Took a Level in Jerkass: I Used to Be a Sweet Kid. Then I discovered Schadenfreude, the Internet, Video Games, and how much smarter I was than everyone else
- Troll: Occasionally
Recommendations, because I can be a nice guy. When it amuses me.
Cartoons and comics of Japan
- Berserk: Miura is a God with an erratic schedule.
- The Big O: Can't go wrong with Phoenix Wright, Giant Robots, and Mind Screw.
- Black Lagoon: GUNS.
- Code Geass: It may be a trainwreck, but when it fails, it fails magnificently. Same goes for when it succeeds.
- Death Note: Have a look at my avatar why don't you? Actually, I dislike Light, but the macro is amusing, you must admit.
- Digimon: Specifically, anything but seasons 2 and 4.
- Eureka Seven: Believe it or not, there are parts of this that aren't Wangst, and somehow, none of it Tastes Like Diabetes to me.
- Hellsing: YES.
- Neon Genesis Evangelion: Need I say more?
- Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: What? You want an opinion? WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?
- Soul Eater: Random intelligent neo-gothic shonen with a smart girl for a protagonist and filled to the brim with psychopaths? Sign me up.

- Metroid There should be a Crowning Series of Awesome trope just for Metroid.
- Hell, anything by Capcom, really.
- Sonic the Hedgehog: Most of the games are pretty good in my opinion. They all have their share of faults, though some more than others, obviously.
- Nintendo Wars: I only own Days of Ruin, but I love it, and I'm a strategy nut, and it really needs its own page.
- Ōkami is my favorite game, full stop.
- Star Fox 64 DADDY SCREAMED REAAAALLL GOOD BEFORE HE DIED!

- Naturally. I'm more of a fan of authors than individual works, and I honestly couldn't tell you what my favorite book was. I prefer short stories, anyhow, and we don't have pages for those... do we?
