* ExecutiveMeddling: When Shout Factory! has the license to release the series, along with ''Headmasters'' and ''Victory'', Hasbro had some of the names changed in subtitles. Which doesn't make lick of a sense, since most of the characters are being referred by their Japanese names. While it would (sort of) make sense with ''Headmasters'', it doesn't here when Cancer's name was in "God Ginrai - Save Cancer!?", yet being called Squeezeplay. This would lead to WhoNamesTheirKidDude territory.

** Most of the Seacons are given different color schemes and more detail (Skalor having a more intricate scale pattern over his entire body than Gulf; Nautilator and Seawing having more mechanical detailing and defined features than either Lobclaw or Kraken, Nautilator's head also being much slimmer), but the most jarring is Tentakill. While in the Japanese version, the drone's tentacles are on the back, has a more defined separation of its head and body, and very prominent (and [[{{Blackface}} unfortunately designed]]) lips. Its US counterpart's appearance has the tentacles on the side of his body, the head and body are blended in, and the lips are completely gone. This isn't helped in the ad, where there's a good closeup of Tentakill's squid face that both shows off these changes and looks startlingly {{Bishonen}}. Piranacon's head is depicted as more organic looking in his own commercial, though in both the Doubledealer ad and in ''Masterforce'', it's a more toy-accurate boxy look albeit colored differently.

** The Autobot headmasters are mostly identical save for Minerva becoming Nightbeat, while the Decepticon headmasters have more robotic-looking beast modes in their commercial compared to their anime appearances.

** The Autobot headmasters are mostly identical save for Minerva becoming Nightbeat, while the Decepticon headmasters have more robotic-looking beast modes in their commercial compared to their anime appearances. Ironically, the Decepticon Headmasters in the comics look even more organic than even ''Masterforce'' in monster form.

** The Decepticon Pretender shells have various differences too -- Submarauder has a much leaner build and larger mohawk fin compared to Gilmer, Bomb-Bust's fur is grey and his eyes more squared off compared to Blood, and Skullgrin's horns extend well past his shoulders instead of the more ram-like (and toy accurate) horns seen on Dauros.

It should be noted that these design traits ''are'' more in line with their appearances in the Marvel comic series.

** Optimus Prime in his Powermaster body is considerably thicker than Ginrai, moreso when they're combined with their trailers.
** Landmine's Pretender shell is depicted as a fairly burly brunette, instead of the glasses-wearing blond Lander's is.

** Dreadwind and Darkwing are more monochromatic in their color schemes (Blue/Teal and Grey/Teal respectively) compared to Hydra and Buster.
** Getaway has an orange face and a mouth while Lightfoot doesn't. The toy ironically, goes both way with an orange face, but no mouth.
** Even disregarding the PaletteSwap, Quickswitch is, for better or worse, a more accurate translation of his toy compared to Sixknight, who is taller and less blocky.
