Creator Backlash: The band are unhappy with how their second album, Music for Pleasure, came out. Dave Vanian also objected to Rat Scabies releasing Not of this Earth, and several people aren't sure if it should even be counted as a Damned album.
Executive Meddling: Album producer Nick Mason is often blamed for Music for Pleasure coming out as weak as it did. Captain Sensible in particular hates the cleanness and the chorus effects Mason added. However it has also been reported that Mason simply wasn't very interested in the recording of the album, so YMMV here.
"The History of the World (Part 1)" was labeled as "Overproduced by Hans Zimmer" on the original album cover for The Black Album.
