* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Now that Funimation has lost the license, their DVD release is out of print too and it's ''very'' unlikely that this will be getting a re-release any time soon due to this being an Aniplex show. So if you already have the series on DVD keep 'em, if you don't....well you're shit out of luck on the legal side of things.

** As usual, this is in full effect for pretty much ''everyone'' in the English dub, though not to that extreme.

* BadExportForYou: the original US release contained director commentaries and ''copious'' liner notes, both in-video and in pack-in flyer thingies which are completely missing from all other US releases of the show. This is mostly due to ADV holding the trademark & copyright on their [=ADVidNotes=] even after they lost the rights to the series. Funimation's license-rescues of other ADV series that used the feature (like ''Anime/ExcelSaga'' and ''Anime/PaniPoniDash'') also have this issue.

* HeyItsThatVoice: Moreso in the English dub than in the Japanese:
** Creator/GregAyres plays Hideki.
*** Hideki's original Japanese VA was a reasonably popular singer back in the 70's and 80's.
** Creator/ChrisPatton is Ichiro.
*** Ichiro's Japanese actor is Showtaro Morikubo, a guy who's got a pretty long résumé even if it doesn't contain too many super-popular characters (he was Ginji in ''Manga/GetBackers'' to name one role).
** Creator/LuciChristian is Mako.
** Though he's not a prominent actor, Brett Weaver returns to play Nabeshin for the third time (at this point, ADV had turned the fact that Weaver had essentially become the "official" English voice for Nabeshin into a RunningGag).

* DawsonCasting:
** Hideki's voice actor in the Japanese version, Shigeru Matsuzaki, stands out particularly because apparently it was his first role in ''twenty-four years'', and the man was pushing at least ''sixty'' years old while trying to play a twenty-five year old character.
** As usual, this is in full effect for pretty much ''everyone'' in the English dub, though not to that extreme.
