Trivia / Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu

Go To

  • Distanced from Current Events: Episode 1B, "A Hostage with No Compromises", was cut from the original broadcast due to a prominent Real Life kidnapping in Japan at the time. To make sure the series had a nice round episode count, the now-orphaned Episode 1A ("The Man from the South") was paired with Episode 2B ("A Fruitless Lunchtime"), which meant the otherwise inoffensive Episode 2A ("Hostility Passing-By") was also removed from the broadcast order.
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": In Latin America, this was the only part of the Full Metal Panic! franchise that was officially released there. Because of that, the dubbing company retitled the series as "Fumoffu" to avoid its relationship with the rest of the franchise, unreleased in its entirely as of 2021.
  • Playing Against Type: Tomokazu Seki as the (usually) stoic Sosuke, natch, but the rugby team members have VAs who have deep, menacing voices, and thus are usually cast villains or Big Bads. Here they're... feminine. At first.
  • Self-Adaptation: Shouji Gatoh, the author of the original Full Metal Panic light novels, served as one of the writers for this anime.
