%%** Some people managed to figure out that Berserker's identity is .
** The popular theory for the identity of the Waver lookalike in Ionioi Hetairoi, at least among those who didn't think it was literally Waver himself, was Eumenes, for a few reasons. The historical Eumenes was from Thrace (modern-day Turkey) and is suspected to have Scythian ancestry; Scythians were known for their long black hair, whereas the Greeks would usually cut it short. Eumenes also began as Alexander's secretary rather than as a warrior or soldier, which would explain the character's outfit of a robe rather than armor. Coincidentally, Eumenes was known for his loyalty to Alexander and his lineage, a trait many associate with Waver.. Later series like the Sensha Otoko parody manga, Literature/LordElMelloiIICaseFiles and VideoGame/FateGrandOrder would later imply this heavily before he was officially confirmed as such.

Given how Fate/Extra came out years after the release of Zero (remember that Zero started out as a light novel released in the mid 2000's), this doesn't qualify as What Could Have Been imo

** Nasu said if he wrote the series, he would have made Rider very similar to Red Saber.
