* DevelopmentHell: The sequel. Everyone wanted to return, and it kept being announced. But Creator/TomCruise, Creator/EmilyBlunt and Creator/DougLiman couldn't find a gap in their schedules to line up where they can make it, and Blunt also noted that the studio was finding the follow-up too expensive. And then a lawsuit between Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow revealed the former was [[https://screenrant.com/edge-tomorrow-tv-show-status-lawsuit/ developing a TV spin-off instead]].

* SequelGap: Creator/TomCruise and Creator/EmilyBlunt have been very enthusiastic about doing a sequel, and one was announced in 2016. Unfortunately, they're also both huge stars and it's been a nightmare finding a gap in both their schedules that lines up where they can make it. In late 2020 it was finally stated that production would begin the following year.

* PostReleaseRetitle: ''Edge of Tomorrow'' had a lackluster performance in the box office, so Warner Brothers attempted to rebrand it for the home video release by emphasizing the movie's TagLine over the actual title. ''Live. Die. Repeat.'' was plastered across the Blu-Ray cover in massive letters, while ''Edge of Tomorrow'' was shrunken and exiled to the bottom corner. Several digital retailers listed the film as ''Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow''.

** Part of the "flop" status could be attributed to poor marketing that didn't show enough of the humor or characters. Even the title, ''Edge of Tomorrow'', isn't nearly as fun as the original ''All You Need Is Kill''. When marketing the DVD release, Warner Bros. added the line "Live. Die. Repeat." to emphasize the GroundhogDayLoop. Commentators have noted that "Live Die Repeat" is also a much better title in itself.

** She (and the rest of the cast) also deserve praise for wearing those heavy suits of armor. Not to mention having to act out the same scenes over and over. Emily Blunt confessed to having a mini breakdown on the first day wearing them.

** Emily has said in interviews one of the first shots they filmed was when Rita, Cage and J Squad drop into Paris. The suits were heavy and uncomfortable even when hanging from a support rig in the ceiling, and the dropship interior set was extremely hot. She eventually grew accustomed to wearing the Jacket, but had something of a mini-breakdown on the first day.
