- Ren breaking down in Kali’s arms after he gets eaten by the guilt of having killed Chrom in the past.
- It's small and it's pretty ambiguous, but the end of Chapter 18, Kali leaves to join Hao and there's just something incredibly sad about it all. Especially since she couldn't bring herself to tell Ren so she just left him a note instead.
- In the following chapter, we finally see what the note says. And it's heartbreaking, if you read it from Ren's perspective. Especially the last line: Please don’t hate me.
- And this isn’t even enough for Ren. He looks for her at Hao’s followers’ site to confront her. Kali is visibly distraught trying to explain herself and Ren is just incredibly upset. Kali asks him to trust her, and Ren says:"I can’t. And I don’t know why I ever did.”
- He later takes it back, but it visibly hurt Kali.
- And this isn’t even enough for Ren. He looks for her at Hao’s followers’ site to confront her. Kali is visibly distraught trying to explain herself and Ren is just incredibly upset. Kali asks him to trust her, and Ren says:
- Kali getting rid of Chi after receiving new spirit guardians from Hao.
- In Chapter 22, Ren dies.
- Ren is completely distraught, near to the point of violence, when he sees that Hao has brainwashed Kali again."This is not the same girl he woke up next to this morning. This isn't his girl."
