- The premise itself is certainly rather sad a prospect. Daiya's father was lost at sea years ago, and he still believes that the man's alive, even though nobody believes him - not even his own mother.
- The episodes when Proist manipulated Ruru into attempting to murder her own father, Garis. Made worse by the fact that the justification used to force the decision was also a personal demon of Garis's - the memory of his wife, Ruru's mother, dying - one that had haunted his every waking moment since it happened.
