** Judge Judy is vocal on stating that the show is all about being a living example of her belief that those who do wrong should suffer consequences. [[PlayingWithATrope This case is a complicated example]]. While those who do wrong don't suffer ''monetary'' consequences,[[note]]All participants get a minimum attendance fee of $1,000 and any monetary judgements made against a participant are paid by the show[[/note]] they suffer big in terms of ''dignity''; millions of television viewers worldwide will get to see how inhuman they really are. Being plastered all over the media and having the nation know who you are can make your life hell if you're ''good'', like Oliver Sipple who saved Gerald Ford's life and got ruined by the publicity. If you're ''bad'', like that one defendant who committed identity theft on her own sister and insisted she did nothing wrong, everyone you know and care about could turn on you after learning what you did. Another case would be Kelli Filkins, the defendant known as the "eBay scammer." Appearing on the show was the worst thing she ever did; the negative publicity resulting from her amoral behavior ruined her. Try having a positive personal life after ''that''.

Try having a positive personal her, she was DrivenToSuicide in January 2017, and the [=GoFundMe=] account for her funeral costs garnered widespread skepticism from people who suspected she had faked her own death and was defrauding donors -- sad story all round, but really shows how looking bad on ''Judge Judy'' can ruin your life after ''that''.(and ''after''life too).

Added DiffLines:

* JudgmentOfSolomon: In one case circa 2018(?) where a man and a woman are contesting the ownership of an adorable little terrier, in the absence of any particularly strong evidence either way Judge Judy demonstrates Solomonic shrewdness by asking for the dog to be brought forward and placed on the floor. Without missing a single beat, [[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments the dog makes a beeline across the room over to the man and begins excitedly jumping up his leg]], confirming he is the owner.

Spelling/grammar fix(es)

** Another case in which a man and his dog was attacked by the defendant's dog while he was taking his dog for a walk. The defendant's (mother and daughter) not only were giggling during the whole case but Judge Judy also found out they were giggling when the man was attacked. Judge Judy couldn't believe how crazy the defendant's were acting and said they need to get their head checked out.
