* Substitute Shinigami Arc: [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyX Tidus]] is a teenager who can see ghosts. His father [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII Sephiroth]] is a local doctor whereas [[Manga/KenichiTheMightiestDisciple Honoka Shirahama]] and [[Manga/{{Gintama}} Kagura]] are his sisters, while he's friends with [[Manga/BlueExorcist Yukio Okumura]], [[Manga/OnePiece Tashigi]], as well as [[Manga/FairyTail Laxus Dreyar]]. One day, he has a chance encounter with [[Anime/{{Vandread}} Meia Gisborn]], a Soul Reaper during a mission. After getting injured, Meia temporarily passes her powers to Tidus to substitute for her. Eventually, they are joined by BarrierMaiden [[VideoGame/{{Tekken}} Alisa Boskonovitch]], TheBigGuy [[Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers Germany]] and ArcherArchetype [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Sasuke Uchiha]]. The local exorcist was [[Manga/DragonBall Emperor Pilaf]], and that is ... the first arc.

* Manga/{{Nana}} offers her soul reaping powers to Film/{{Babe}}, then she is captured by Series/{{Castle}} and [[Manga/DeathNote Light Yagami]]. Babe, [[WesternAnimation/BobsBurgers Louise Belcher, Tina Belcher]], [[Anime/SpiritedAway Haku]] set out to rescue Nana.

* Later, Hinata gets kidnapped by Karasu and Lelouch has to go into another world to rescue her with the help of Shino, Largo, Yuki, and Jon. He and his allies go up against Karasu's army, including [[Anime/EurekaSeven Willam B. Baxter]], [[Anime/RurouniKenshin Gensai]], [[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist Lust]], [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Lancer]], [[WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2003 Leonardo]], [[VideoGame/BlazBlue Jin Kisaragi]], [[VideoGame/MetalGearSolid Peter Stillman]], [[WesternAnimation/TheSpectacularSpiderMan Venom]], [[Anime/DigimonAdventure Angemon]], and [[Franchise/KingdomHearts Xemnas]]. When they get in over their head, Apollo sends them some help in the form of Yang, Czar Baldy Bald, [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Sakura]], and Shigemori.

* [[Anime/FullMetalAlchemist Wrath]] offers her soul reaping powers to WesternAnimation/{{Arthur}}.

* Soul Society Arc: Meia is taken away with her AloofBigBrother [[VideoGame/MegaManX Zero]] and his lieutenant [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Choji Akamichi]]. After much training with [[TricksterMentor Trickster Mentors]] [[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist Roy Mustang]] and [[LightNovel/FullMetalPanic Kaname Chidori]], Tidus went to kick some ass through a squad of elite fighters which contain the likes of [[Anime/RevolutionaryGirlUtena Utena Tenjou]] (with [[VideoGame/ViewtifulJoe Gran Bruce]] as her lieutenant), [[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog Shadow the Hedgehog]] (with [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII Cloud Strife]] as lieutenant), [[Anime/SailorMoon Sailor Mercury]] (with [[Anime/CodeGeass C.C]] as lieutenant), [[VideoGame/SengokuBasara Akechi Mitsuhide]] (with [[VideoGame/MeltyBlood Ciel]] as lieutenant), [[Manga/MyHeroAcademia Endeavor]] (with [[Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger Chimatsuri Doukokuu]] as lieutenant), [[VideoGame/MetalGearSolid Solid Snake]] (with [[LightNovel/ShakuganNoShana Margery Daw]] as lieutenant), [[Anime/AfterWarGundamX Shagia Frost]] (with [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Kamina]] as lieutant), [[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist Edward Elric]] (with [[Manga/FlameOfRecca Neon]] as lieutenant), [[Manga/OnePiece Akainu]] (flanked with lieutenant [[Anime/TokyoMewMew Hwang Bu-Ling]], 3rd seat [[Manga/YuYuHakusho Hiei]], 5th seat [[Anime/CodeGeass Lelouch Lamperouge]]), [[Anime/DragonBallZ Frieza]] (with [[VideoGame/Persona4 Rise Kujikawa]] as lieutenant), and the lieutenant-less [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Itachi Uchiha]]. Though in the end, it turns out these are a grand plan for Mitsuhide, Shadow and Shagia to betray their squad.

** ''[[Anime/BleachMemoriesOfNobody Memories of Nobody]]'': Tidus attempts to stop [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII Sazh Katroy]] to sacrifice [[LightNovel/{{Bakemonogatari}} Hitagi Senjougahara]] to achieve his utopia. Sazh is beaten, but Senjougahara still dies and reincarnates.

** ''[[Anime/BleachFadeToBlack Fade to Black]]'': Meia has brothers and sisters in form of [[Manga/SayonaraZetsubouSensei Nozomu Itoshiki]] and LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya. But now they're erasing Tidus' memories and wants to keep Meia only for them...

* [[Anime/CodeGeass Lelouch]] receives Soul Reaper powers from [[LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya Yuki Nagato]] in order to protect his family, but she eventually gets captured by [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyIV Yang Fang Leiden]] and [[WesternAnimation/TheGarfieldShow Jon Arbuckle]]. With the help of [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Hinata]], who secretly has a crush on him; [[VideoGame/TalesOfTheAbyss Largo]], his best friend who fights for his sake; and his rival and friend [[Franchise/KingdomHearts Vexen]]; he sets out to rescue her and eventually fight against the evil [[Manga/YuYuHakusho Karasu]].

* In one filler arc, Lelouch is asked by [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Deidara]] to protect [[Franchise/DotHack Tsukasa]]. Elsewhere, Lieutenant [[VideoGame/DissidiaFinalFantasy Warrior of Light]] welcomes his new captain, [[VideoGame/ShadowHearts Bishop Jovis]], and the third seat [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Kittan]].

* Vizard Arc: Sephiroth is revealed to be a former captain-class Soul Reaper as he defeats [[Manga/DeathNote Hitoshi Demegawa]] as he attempted revenge. Meanwhile, [[VideoGame/TalesOfSymphonia Zelos Wilder]] barges into Tidus' life and tells him that he is part of him. He drafted him to train together with the likes of [[VideoGame/SoulSeries Cassandra Alexandra]], [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Brooklyn Luckfield]] and [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Donkey Kong]]. On the other hand, a reconnaissance squad of Mitsuhide's forces, led by [[VideoGame/Persona4 Yuu Narukami]], [[VideoGame/BlazBlue Iron Tager]] and later, a VERY PSYCHO [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Archer]], which ends up in Alisa being captured (in which Archer kills [[Anime/DragonBallSuper Cabba]] for fun).

* Beast Sword Arc: After Jin and Graham's demise, things has yet to calm down as other 'released spirits' are still out to wreak havoc. The good guys and their weapon spirits try to quell the chaos, although Litchi ends up striking a tragic relationship with [[VideoGame/AgarestSenki Leonhardt Raglen]]. All the troubles eventually led to [[Manga/{{Hellsing}} Alucard]], and after taking him out, most weapons spirits return in peace for good.

* Final War Arc: Announced to be animated in October 2022, but until then ... after surviving the Fake Karakura arc, Shinji has been kidnapped and Chiyo had to drag Tidus to beat her captors. [[spoiler: Mitsuhide will make a surprise re-appearance.]]
