!A Minor Hiccup

Weiss Schnee is staring at a holographic clock, watching the time tick down until the class ends. Jaune is sat next to her advancing on her, and Peter Port is rambling about one of his old stories again. [[SarcasmMode Wonderful.]] As the class ends, Weiss rebukes Jaune and gets up to leave. Team RWBY follows, but Yang tousles his hair and quips [[ShipperOnDeck "One day."]]

Team RWBY make their way to their room and change into their new outfits to start off their investigation, and then after a little banter, they outline their plan: Ruby and Weiss will head for the Cross Continental Transmit System and look up Schnee Dust Company records for any inconsistences or reports of robberies; Blake will infiltrate a White Fang meeting under disguise; Yang will pay a visit to Junior's place in the "shady side of town" to question him, as Roman had his goons with him during the robbery. Sun shows up with Neptune and the two boys agree to help the girls in their search. Sun will go with Blake to the White Fang meeting and make sure she is alright, and Neptune will help Yang. As they leave, Neptune winks at Weiss and Weiss suddenly suggests that Neptune go with her and Ruby could go with her sister, but Ruby laughs off the idea.

Ruby is astounded by the scale of the CCT tower. Weiss explains that all the kingdoms have one, and the one in Atlas was the first to be built and dwarfs this one. As Ruby goes to take a picture she fumbles her phone and it lands at the feet of Penny. Ruby is delighted by Penny's appearance, but Penny is uncharacteristically evasive and distant to her, and Ruby pursues her and leaves Weiss to complete her business at the tower alone.

Weiss enters the elevator and puts in a request to go to the communications room. After the identity confirmation, Weiss can be seen trying different faces out, presumably to put on a happy demeanor, all of which look forced. She settles for shaking her head and waiting for her destination to arrive. She approaches a holographic assistant and asks to be patched through to the Schnee Dust Company headquarters in Atlas, and declines to be put through to her father or her older sister Winter.

Meanwhile, Ruby is walking past a holographic presentation of Ironwood, unveiling a new series of Atlesian combat robots and a towering Paladin battle suit as big as a house. Penny and Ruby are chased by Atlesian soldiers but manage to get away. At this point, Ruby falls into the road in the path of a speeding truck. As Ruby stares like a deer in the headlights, Penny jumps in the way and puts her hands out. The speeding vehicle collides with Penny at full speed but immediately slams to a halt, and Penny doesn't even flinch. As stunned onlookers move in and the driver recovers from the shock, Ruby pulls Penny into a side alley and Penny holds out her shredded palms, revealing mechanical parts underneath.

Team RWBY with Sun and Neptune decide to hit the town and look for clues as to the plans of Torchwick and the White Fang. While Weiss and Ruby go to make a call to Schnee headquarters they run into Penny, who doesn't seem to know them.

* RoboticReveal: When Penny stops a van that is about to run into her, the skin is scraped off her hands to reveal metal underneath. She is forced to confess to Ruby and the audience that she is a robot.

Team RWBY with Sun and Neptune decide to hit the town and look for clues as to the plans of Torchwick and the White Fang. While Weiss and Ruby go to make a call to Schnee headquarters they run into Penny who doesn't seem to know them.

* ChekhovsGun: The Atlesian Paladin MiniMecha is showcased to the public, which will come up in later episodes.
* PedestrianCrushesCar: Downplayed. Penny pushes Ruby out of the way of a truck and makes it stop dead in its tracks using an unknown force. She flees once she realizes that this raises some immediate questions from eyewitnesses and the authorities.
