* ThisIsSomethingHesGotToDoHimself: Other than using her Semblance to raise Jaune's shield slightly to block a death blow from the Ursa, Pyrrha deliberately prevents Ruby and Weiss from interfering with Jaune's fight, most likely in order for him to push himself further and to become more confident in his own abilities. Considering what [[OffWithHisHead he did afterwards to the Ursa]] it seems to have worked.

!Forever Fall, Part 1

After their painful meeting on the rooftops of Beacon, Pyrrha is looking glum, and Nora and Ren are preparing breakfast. Pyrrha advises them to get some proper rest before their next field trip, to the forest of Forever Fall. Jaune meets Ruby outside the JNPR dorm, where he reveals that he too is having doubts about his ability as a leader - he cannot afford to be a failure now because their lives are in his hands. Ruby gives some words to him, but this just leaves him in even more doubt, and worse, Cardin calls him and demands they go out together to collect Rapier Wasps.

The next morning, RWBY, JNPR and CRDL leave together to go to Forever Fall. Though all are in awe at the scenery around them, Glynda keeps them on the task at hand: collect sap from the trees to return to Professor Peach.

It is here that Cardin reveals his plan for Jaune: he intends to humiliate Pyrrha for humiliating him in Oobleck's class the day before, and wants Jaune to throw sap on her, which will attract the wasps into attacking her. He tells Jaune to do it or he will tell Glynda that Jaune faked his way into Beacon. Jaune hesitates, and then tosses the sap over Cardin. The rest of CRDL grab Jaune.

!Forever Fall, Part 2

Continuing where we last left off, Jaune is being viciously beaten black and blue by an enraged Cardin. No matter how much it hurts, no matter what skinny Cardin has on him, he will not be made to harm his teammates. He even mocks the bully, which angers him further. As Cardin goes for another punch, Jaune's Aura flashes outwards, immediately healing him of all his bruises and causing Cardin to drop him and fall to the floor, clutching his hand and screaming in pain.

As CRDL grab Jaune, a massive Ursa, attracted by the scent of the sap, bursts into the scene and sends CRDL scattering. Cardin is alone and struck with fear, and Jaune weighs up protecting his tormentor or leaving him to his fate. As Thrush runs into Yang, she grabs him and he informs her of what is happening, sending RWBY and JNPR to investigate.

Cardin is helpless and prone on the floor, and as the Ursa goes to finish him off with a swipe, Jaune stops the blow with his shield just as RWBY and JNPR arrive on the scene. Weiss goes to intervene but Pyrrha stops her, as ThisIsSomethingHesGotToDoHimself. Jaune and the Ursa exchange blows, the former showing impressive strength and determination as he blocks its blows and tosses him around. As they go to clash one last time, Pyrrha uses her Semblance to raise Jaune's shield ever so slightly, causing the Ursa to stumble sideways, and Jaune takes the chance to decapitate the monster bear with a single slash of his sword.

The fight is over. Ruby is confused about Pyrrha's Semblance, which Weiss explains is the power to manipulate metal with magnetic forces, just as its her own Semblance to create glyphs, or Ruby's to increase her speed. Cardin gets up and seems in awe of Jaune, who helps him up and orders him to never mess with him or his friends again, before walking away, leaving Cardin looking intimidated and apologetic. He will never again mess with Jaune or his friends.

!Forever Fall

Team JNPR rarely see Jaune who is being forced to hang around with Cardin. Ruby gives Jaune a pep talk on leadership, as taught to her by Ozpin.

A field trip to Forever Fall Forest leads to a make-or-break confrontation between Jaune and Cardin. When a Grimm attacks, Cardin's team flees, leaving Cardin's life in the hands of the very person he has been blackmailing over his secret lack of combat training.

Judging from the awed (and somewhat frightened) look Cardin sends Jaune's way afterwards its pretty clear Cardin isn't going to be messing with Jaune or his team anytime soon.

In the hallway outside their dorm Jaune overhears them, as he starts to leave Ruby shows up behind him. After Ruby asks Jaune why he is looking so down, Jaune voices his concern over Cardin and how Pyrrha is angry at him and how he isn't a good leader. But Ruby wont hear it and tells Jaune he can't be a bad leader because it's not just him but his whole team that will suffer. Later in the Forest of Foreverfall, the students a tasked to collect sap from the trees, as everyone splits off into their team Cardin forces Jaune to do his teams work for them. Cardin then tells Jaune about his plans to get revenge on Pyrrha for making him look bad last episode. He tells Jaune that if Jaune doesn't throw a jar of sap at Pyrrha, so they can release wasps on her, he is going to tell Goodwitch about Jaune sneaking into Beacon, but Jaune refuses and throws the jar at Cardin.

In Part 2, team CRDL are beating up on Jaune for his actions last episode. Cardin asks Jaune if he thinks he's a hero or something to which Jaune just smiles. Pissed Cardin goes to punch Jaune in the face, but a flash of white light appears and when its gone Cardin is holding his hand and Jaune's Aura flashes for a second. But before anyone can figure out what happens a really big Ursa shows up, attracted to the smell of sap that Cardin is covered in. Team CRDL, sans Cardin run away screaming, as they pass team JNPR and RWBY they tell them about the Ursa attacking Cardin. Back at the Ursa it is still attacking Cardin and just as it is about to go in for the kill Jaune saves him. Then with some effort and a small bit of help from Pyrrha Jaune defeats the Ursa. Cardin is in awe, and is very humbled when Jaune warns him to leave his team and friends alone. Later that night, Jaune apologizes to Pyrrha for rejecting her offer for help and asks if she'll accept, which she does.
