* AmbiguousCloneEnding: [[https://www.reddit.com/r/Deusex/comments/5346z1/spoilersthe_more_interesting_contents_of_the/ Thorough exploration of the Versalife vault]] reveals that there is the body of Adam Jensen hidden in a cryopod, which has the exact same facial features and scars seen in ''Human Revolution'''s "Missing Link" DLC (and which can only been seen if you use external light source, like an EMP, to light up the vault), but without any augs. Additionally, a datavault found beside states that the blood type is the exact same as Adam's. This has fueled speculation that the PlayerCharacter is a clone of Adam who had his current augs transferred from the original Adam's body, though no confirmation is given either way.

* LostForever: If you choose to save Alison instead of doing the Heist route, an ebook you need for the "Tablet Collector" achievement becomes permanently unavailable, as it's located inside the Versalife vault (which has all its contents moved if you don't go for it).

* SadisticChoice: The choice preceding the two separate story missions ("Confronting the Bomb-Maker" and "The Heist") is filled with this. If you choose the Heist route, Alison dies and her knowledge of the bomb-making process is lost (along with her father [[WhatTheHellHero calling you out after the fact]]). If you choose to save Alison, all of the data inside the Versalife vault becomes LostForever (including an item that can be [[ChekhovsGun very important for the final mission]]).

'''Mission 11:'''
!Facing The Enigma

'''Confronting the Bomb-Maker:'''

Adam rushes to the Prazicka district and finds Nomad Stanek outside the station, who tells him that Alison's fellow members in the Church of the [=MachineGod=] are planning to kill her in a ritual called the "Ascension". He urges Adam to hurry and save her, stating that Alison is the one who built the bombs that destroyed Prazicka Station, and that the knowledge of the bomb=making process will be lost if she dies.

He tells Adam that she is on the top floor of the nearby apartment complex, but that the fanatics will shoot at anyone who tries to get to her. Adam heads to the ground floor of the apartment, and is stopped when Vega radios in. She tells him that time is of the essence, and that Versalife has found out about Janus' connection and is clearing house by securing the Versalife vault. She says that the corporation will be moving all of the data in the vault soon, and urges Adam to go to the bank instead.

Adam continues up through the floors, knocking out zealots along the way. He also finds [[CrazyPrepared a large number of cameras, traps and mines]] laced throughout the floors and avoids them while continuing on. Eventually, he gets to the top floor and heads into Alison's room.

Alison angrily steps out and declares that she isn't to be disturbed, but cuts herself once she realizes Adam is there. She looks on in awe at Adam, and asks how he knew to come to the complex on that night specifically. She contends that he "heard the call of the [=MachineGod=]'s wisdom", prompting Adam to realize that she regards him [[GodGuise as a deity]].

When he asks her about her knowledge of the bombs she built, she mentions Marchenko and how she was happy to help him in his time of need. Adam asks to get in touch with Marchenko, and she tells him that he moved his base of operations to a research station called "G.A.R.M.", located in the Swiss Alps. When she realizes that Adam is only asking her for information, she becomes indignant and rails at him for not believing in their cause. She indicates that she is planning to hold the "Ascension" ceremony to unify with the [=MachineGod=] and uplift augments to a new level.

A social battle ensues, and Adam realizes Alison's indignant nature and anger is masking her own depression and rage at the state of her own life. After critiquing her plans to "ascend" and pointing out Marchenko's hypocritical statements, Alison tells him that he's wasting her time and that she has to finish what she started. She rounds a corner and reveals that the rest of the church members are hooked to a machine that will supposedly network them with the [=MachineGod=]. Adam stops her from entering the machine and continues to critique her plans, which eventually lead her to realize Adam's arrival was a sign, and that her true purpose is to spread news of the church across the world instead of Ascending. She agrees to turn herself over to [=TF29=], and gives Adam a [[ChekhovsGun signal jammer]] which she claims may come in helpful if he ever wants to defuse any of the bombs she made...

'''The Heist:'''

After agreeing to [[BankRobbery raid the Versalife vault inside the Palisade Bank]], Vega directs Adam to its underground garage. She tells him that Janus has left a package for him to collect.

Adam sneaks past cameras and multiple guards and eventually finds the package, which has a blank keycard for the corporate vaults and a datastick that can store information. Janus calls Adam and says that he'll need to validate the keycard by accessing a terminal located in the CEO's office on Level 3. Adam sneaks back out, goes through the front door and begins sneaking around the offices.

He stops in an office on the ground floor to steal a keycard to the upper floors, then makes his way up and eventually finds the CEO's office. Inside, he uses a biometric terminal to create a valid keycard for the Versalife vault. H eventually gets past security and accesses the corporate vaults elevator at the back of the lobby area.

Downstairs, Adam finds multiple corporate vaults belonging to Tai Yong Medical, Tarvus Security and Picus Television. [[KleptomaniacHero Thanks to the keycards he found previously]], he accesses all of them and finds [[MontyHaul a large boatload of weapons, items and revealing email conversations]]. He continues on and eventually uses the Versalife keycard on a scanner to bring the vault down to the lower floor, and walks inside.

Adam sets the datadrive on a terminal in the room and radios Janus to tell him that he's accessed the vault and is waiting for him to download the information. Janus says that the drive has a seeker program that is searching for everything related to the Orchid and is downloading it. Adam sees an audio file and activates it, and a recording plays of [[ChekhovsGunman Megan Reed]] and Bob Page discussing the Orchid. Page is heard telling Megan that he's sent the Orchid samples to a facility called "G.A.R.M." in Switzerland, and she is heard responding back that they'll need to keep a neutralizing ensyme on hand if anyone is infected by the chemical. He tells her that she has nothing to worry about, and that he's stored a sample of the ensyme inside the vault before hanging up.

Adam is [[HeartbrokenBadass shocked and disheartened]] to hear Megan, but quickly snaps back to the situation at hand. Janus reveals that Megan joined Versalife shortly before Sarif Industries folded, then says that he's researched the G.A.R.M. facility and knows that it was bought by Belltower. He tells Adam that they didn't list it as an asset when they filed for bankruptcy. Janus notes that he's downloaded everything necessary, and tells Adam that he's satisfied with what he has. Before Adam leaves the vault, he accesses the safe and [[ChekhovsGun takes the Orchid antidote with him...]]

Outside the bank, both Smiley and Mr. Stanek call Adam and [[WhatTheHellHero rail at him]] for not saving Alison. Smiley notes that Alison went through with the Ascension ceremony and is now dead, but says it doesn't matter and that Adam needs to meet Miller and Chikane at the helipad...

----

Adam arrives at the helipad and finds Miller, who requests a situation report. [[SadisticChoice Depending on what Adam did]], Miller chews Adam out for not following up on every lead, but Adam says it doesn't matter for the time being.

After Adam tells him about the existence of the G.A.R.M. facility, Miller agrees that it's a lead worth pursuing, and asks how Chikane's VTOL is doing. Chikane says that he'll be ready to go once he refuels. Miller orders Adam to recon the facility, but do not engage anyone inside directly. After Miller leaves, Chikane apologizes for his comments about augs the last time they talked at the helipad, and asks if they're ready to go.

Adam says he is, and with that, they set out towards the Swiss Alps...

!!Tropes:

* BankRobbery: The Palisade vaults are full of this. Aside from the Versalife vault (which is a story mission in itself), there are multiple personal vaults to rob, as well as three other corporate vaults (Tarvos Security, Picus Television and Tai Yong Medical) that offer unique weapons, plenty of software, Praxis Kits and revealing email conversations if their associated keycards are found throughout the city.
* CallForward:
** One of the emails found in the Versalife vault is a conversation between Bob Page and Morgan Everett, where the latter mentions that Lucius Debeers is planning to go into cryostasis [[DarkLordOnLifeSupport due to his advanced age]]. This would be brought up again in the original game, where the player has the choice to euthanize Debeers [[ICannotSelfTerminate at his request]].
** Another email in the Versalife vault mentions that the company is setting up a base at the Shackleton Ice Shelf in Antarctica. This is most likely the same base that appears during [[Recap/DeusExInvisibleWarMission07Antarctica the Antarctica mission]] in ''VideoGame/DeusExInvisibleWar''. It's also one of the few times the game has been acknowledged in another piece of media associated with the franchise.
** An email in the Picus vault mentions that Eliza is a prototype from the "Morpheus Project", which Morgan Everett would complete in the interim between this and the original game.
* ContinuityNod:
** The Tarvos vault has a wanted poster for Garvin Quinn (from the ''Missing Link'' DLC).
** The Tai Yong Medical vault has a Hyron Drone suit within it, as well as one of the anatomy statues from Omega Ranch.
** Just like the previous game, Adam's shades snap back on after he listens to something Megan has said. This time, it's after listening to her in the Versalife vault.
* CrazyPrepared: The church zealots have multiple defenses set up throughout the apartment complex regardless of which route Adam chooses to make his way up through, including cameras monitoring the stairwells and mines laced throughout the vents and the back walls of the building.
* DarkLordOnLifeSupport: An email in the Versalife vault explains that Lucius is seriously ill, and is preparing to use the cryostasis pod that he would later be seen inside in the original game.
* GodGuise: Allison seems to regard Jensen as this, due to a mixture of religious fervor, her own delusions and Jensen's cutting edge implants. He doesn't play up the role, but he doesn't exactly deny it either since he needs every shred of credibility he can get to stop her from performing the Ascension ritual.
* HeartbrokenBadass: It's clear from Adam's reaction upon hearing the business call between Megan and Bob Page (about the Orchid virus) that he's still hurting over her, but he quickly snaps back to the situation at hand.
* LostForever: If you choose to save Alison instead of doing the Heist route, an ebook you need for the "Tablet Collector" achievement becomes permanently unavailable, as it's located inside the Versalife vault (which has all its contents moved if you don't go for it).
* MontyHaul: Cleaning out the bank from top to bottom (if you chose "The Heist" route) nets a ton of experience from hacking, multiple Praxis Kits and access to the Versalife vault, which has a plot item needed for a later mission. If you also obtained any or all of the other keycards to the corporate vaults, you can also get a metric ton of gear, including a unique weapon (Cote D'Azur Combat Rifle), plenty of ammo, even more hacking software and a ton of items to sell.
* SequenceBreaking: Earlier versions of the game allowed the player to do ''both'' missions (thus averting the SadisticChoice) if they skipped a conversation trigger where Vega radioed in at the apartment complex where Alison is to tell Adam how they're running out of time. This was patched out as of version 1.05.
* WhatTheHellHero: If you skipped saving Alison and did the Heist route instead, Smiley, Mr. Stanek and Miller will all call you out on your inaction.
