* Even though it's a paranoid delusion in a hypothetical illusion, the fact that Twilight Sparkle imagined Garble grabbing Starlight Glimmer and diving into lava and believes it to be a possibility... means that Twilight Sparkle believes that Garble ''is willing to murder ponies''. That's a pretty strong vote of no confidence from the Princess of Friendship.
** Also notice that Spike specifically said that Starlight Glimmer would just teleport if she found herself in this kind of danger instead of protesting the idea that Garble would actually do something like that. That's because Spike also believes that Garble ''is willing to murder ponies''.

* Anger is a dangerous emotion that becomes even more dangerous if it's suppressed. Even though Starlight's anger only reached the tirade-level of potency, it would've been possible for it to go to a higher strength rating. Specifically ''assault and battery'' and ''murderous rage'' which are the two highest levels of anger. Trixie is so lucky that she didn't push Starlight far enough into putting her in the Ponyville Hospital.
** It's possible that the only reason it wasn't that bad was because the bottled anger ended up distributed between three ponies, and their tirades released some of it before Starlight took it all back. Imagine if, for example, Bulk Biceps was the only one there when the bottle broke, or if it broke right at Starlight's hooves.

* Starlight's nightmare: she's so terrified that she's messed everything up and driven the sisters apart again that she dreams of being attacked by Nightmare Moon. * The fly-ders. Basically a frightening [[MixAndMatchCritters combo of]] flies and [[SpidersAreScary spiders]]. They travel in huge swarms, are capable of webbing up a full sized pony to prevent their escape, and they ''bite''. A lot. The only thing one can do is run from them. Even [[BadassNormal Applejack]], [[SilkHidingSteel Rarity]], and [[LeeroyJenkins Rainbow Dash]] don't try anything to fight them off after their initial attempts prove inadequate, instead taking cover in a cave. Oh, and unlike real-life spiders who may occasionally bite large mammals to defend themselves, these nasties actually ''feed on ponies'' if they get the opportunity and run out of easier food.

* You would easily think from the amount of desperation that Rarity shows in her eyes and voice that she's going insane from having her mane ruined. And the fact that she wanted to isolate herself inside a darkened Carousel Boutique clearly points towards the onset of depression which could've only gotten worse if she didn't have the emotional support of her friends.
** It looks as though she was nearing dangerously close to the "lesson zero" zone.

* At first glance, Swamp Fever is akin to your typical fever with fantastical symptoms. Orange spots on the body? Coughing bubbles? Sneezing lightning? All of these aren't that scary and are in fact somewhat comical... but then the final symptom is revealed to be the host of the disease [[{{Transflormation}} turning into a tree that drops the same kind of flower that induces Swamp Fever]]. You heard us right; if you're hit with Swamp Fever and are not cured, [[BodyHorror you're going to slowly transform into a plant on top of feeling dreadfully sick]]. And one that strikes its victims with the same disease, while at it. Just imagine that happening to you.
** Think about it. The trees you saw in the ColdOpen? Each one was once a pony who couldn't be cured of Swamp Fever. Part of the episode was spent unknowingly ''surrounded by corpses.'' At least, [[AndIMustScream if the victims were lucky]]...
** Worse yet, Swamp Fever works the same way [[DoesThisRemindYOuOfAnything the fungi cordyceps]] works on ants: it infects one of them, who begins exhibit strange symptoms. If prolonged, the victim will transform into a tiny cordyceps tree that will infect the rest of the colony, especially if they're too close.
** Even worse, the episode shows that the only cure was unknown for a very long time, meaning that the victims were pretty much hopeless. And by the time the cure is found, it's not just hard to find but also very dangerous to obtain, as it's produced by ShockAndAwe insects that NoSell most magical attacks, and, arguably, the spells that might be able to affect them would also damage the cure. By the time the badly battered healers finally obtain the cure, it's very possible the victims would have turned into trees already.
* Dr. Horse was carelessly infected when Zecora and Fluttershy were trying to find out what the disease was. If things had gotten much worse, most of Ponyville would've been infected and martial law would've been declared in order to put the entire town under quarantine because ''Dr. Horse was checking up on other patients and probably spreading the disease to them in turn''.
** So... you never look a gifted horse in the mouth?
** Horrifying in a meta-sense when you realize that the doctor who discovered the nature of infectious diseases in England in the 19th century committed suicide. He realized that he himself had been infecting people because he both performed autopsies and visited patients without adequate decontamination.
* Fluttershy and Dr. Horse were infected from ''being near'' Zecora. What's to say that Twilight Sparkle and Cattail didn't get infected before they wore the masks? And what of Spike when he stood next to Fluttershy?

* That HUGE mistake of a "Pie" that Rainbow Dash made and was willing to eat in front of Pinkie to redeem her Honor and Loyalty. Was she going to put herself in the Ponyville Hospital for a long time? Or was she going to commit suicide?

* The Pony of Shadow's goal. It doesn't want an eternal night, a world ruled by chaos or fear, every last bit of magical energy, it doesn't even want to rule over Equestria. What it wants is complete darkness. It wants to return everything to the shadows and leave no shred of light behind, with no one capable of remembering anything else.
* We get a look at what the Sirens are capable of at their full, unrestrained power: one song and a village breaks out in a ''violent brawl''. Further more, the Sirens are capable of breathing a BreathWeapon powerful enough to ''vaporize rock''. Thank goodness Flash Magnus has a magic shield...\\\
The worst part of it? Their singing ''doesn't spare children''. The episode does its best to depict the brawl in the most cartoony, slapstick possible way to lessen the blow, but it doesn't change the fact that foals get as agressive as adult ponies, and those adults ''don't hesitate attacking the youngsters'' either.
* You'd think that after Stygian pulls a HeelFaceTurn, the Pony of Shadows would disappear and that'd be it? That doesn't happen. Whatever entity that turned Stygian into the Pony of Shadows doesn't care if he pulled a HeelFaceTurn, Stygian is already its host and it forces him to bend to its will.
* Stygian's transformation into the Pony of Shadows in a flashback. He throws open the castle doors with his head down, then raises his head to glare at the Pillars. Shadows grow from the corners of his eyes to give him BlackEyesOfEvil, then the same shadows flow out of his eyes and wrap around him, transforming him in a burst of dark light.
* When Twilight dives into the Pony of Shadows, there's an unnatural yet beastly [[HellIsThatNoise scream]] as she enters, which is heard again as the Pony of Shadows is banished.
* The Pony of Shadows in general is Nightmare Fuel, despite being off-hand mentioned in Season 4 as an urban legend. ''Nothing'' is known about it aside as being rumored to being a dark part of Nightmare Moon left behind when she was banished and even then that's just a rumor. The fact it was willing to manipulate someone like Stygian (who was already backstabbed and hurt by the Pillars abandoning him over a misunderstanding) makes you wonder if similar dark forces like that changed Princess Luna into Nightmare Moon ''exist''. As a result, the Pony of Shadows is arguably as terrifying due to [[NothingIsScarier what it truly is or how it came to be]], similar to how ''King Sombra'' from Season 3 left a lot of unanswered questions of his power and magnitude.

Even though it was a nightmare, Daybreaker was clearly much more powerful than Nightmare Moon, who for the most part was on the defensive against Daybreaker's attacks. Yes, Luna giving into her SuperpoweredEvilSide '''would not be enough''' to stop Celestia if she also gave into her own.

* The hate between Granny Smith and Grand Pear when both clans were in Ponyville can be described as petty and frivolous as can be expected with family rivalries. But when Grand Pear disowned his daughter, Pear Butter, that gave Granny Smith a ''passionate and justified'' reason to hate Grand Pear and Pears in general which is the worst kind of hatred a living being can be capable of. The reason why reconciliation is so important is because justified hatred is a truly dangerous emotion as evidenced by Granny Smith getting angry at the mention of Grand Pear or the sight of Pear products. Her aforementioned hatred is never shown on-screen, [[NothingIsScarier only mentioned]].

** The entity itself is subject to a lot of FridgeHorror. We know absolutely nothing about it, besides the fact that it has some connection to the [[EldritchLocation Well of Shade]], and that it was intelligent and manipulative enough to take advantage of Stygian's anger and bitterness. Where did it come from? Who or what built the Well of Shade? And what is its ultimate goal?

''Legends of Magic #1'' featured Luna as a young alicorn, tempted by dark voices from another realm which are hinted to have a hand in her eventual transformation into Nightmare Moon. Considering that the ''Legends of Magic'' series is closely tied-in to the Season 7 finale, as well as all the similarities between Nightmare Moon and the Pony of Shadows, you have to wonder if Stygian was the only pony the darkness claimed...
