Besides allowing for rapid (by medieval standards) transportation, the roads also had manned garrisons at regular intervals to protect travelers against brigands, inns and taverns, and signal towers that could use various means to relay information to the other towers in range: fire, mirrors, and drums. Messages could be sent from one city to another hundreds of miles away and would arrive in record time. Official state and military messages would likely be encoded before being transmitted through this system.

Identifying the unknown vessel as a warship, the Minbari wanted to greet them with an Epic Hail that all fellow warriors would deserve. Apparently it was so epic that the humans completely freaked out and almost shot the Minbari ship into oblivion before turning around and getting the hell away as fast as possible. Unfortunately the ship was transporting the Minbari's Emperor-Pope, whose death caused the Minbari to start [[KillAllHumans killing all humans]].
