Added DiffLines:

* TogetherInDeath: A non-romantic example in ''Johnny and the Dead'', when at Tommy Atkins' funeral the spirits of his old comrades in the Blackbury Pals (all of whom had died in the WWI trenches) show up to greet him. Tommy, now looking like the young man he was when he fought alongside them instead of the nonagenarian he died as, happily takes his place in their ranks, and they all march off back to the old battlefield in France where the other Pals died.

Added DiffLines:

* MookChivalry: Lampshaed by Johnny, who points out the only reason the [=ScreeWee=] are losing the war is because enemies in video games are programmed to line up one by one this way. This gets hideously subverted by the Gunnery Officer when he takes over - the massive wall of [=ScreeWee=] ships, all firing at once, wipes out any player character mere seconds after they spawn in.

Added DiffLines:

* SuicidalPacifism: The main issue Johnny has with protecting the [=ScreeWee=] in ''Only You Can Save Mankind''. Because the Captain thinks that surrendering to Johnny is the same as surrendering to mankind as a whole, the fleet won't fire back on ''any'' player character despite vastly outnumbering any and all player characters. Many of the [=ScreeWee=] soon take umbrage with this due to the losses this incurs, and the Gunnery Officer uses it as a platform to get dissidents to rally around him.

Added DiffLines:

* TakeThat: The [=ScreeWee=] Captain takes pains to point out how lacking in nutrients Johnny's diet of sterotypical gamer junk food is. Although, by her admission, her species' diet of waterweed isn't much better, being much higher in nutrients but tasting foul.
