** Dorothy's goodbye to the Scarecrow is particularly lingering and heartwarming; she doesn't seem to want to let him go. In the musical (as in the 1934 version), it's partially because the Scarecrow was her first companion and they've been together longest, but it's hard not to see some of Ross's and Jackson's real-life affection reflected in their performance.
