What happens instead is what launches the song from TearJerker to a combination of Heartwarming and Awesome. Jack (who started out the film struggling with his boredom about doing the same thing over and over again every Halloween) admits that he did his best, found the joy he had been missing for a very long time and is excited for next Halloween.
