* A big thing for Gill was his rescue of Nemo in the dentist office climax. When Darla is violently shaking Nemo's baggie, Gill places himself into the mouth of Mt. Wannahockaloogie with Bloat aiming & Jacques activating the ring of fire. Gill is launched out of the tank & into Darla's hair which cause her to panic & drop Nemo's bag. The scene offers multiple examples which showcase how much Gill has come to care for Nemo.
** Earlier in the film, Gill says his scars & bad fin were a result of trying to launch himself into the toilet, but instead he landed on dental tools. The aforementioned plan to save Nemo involved a repeat of the same exact scenario. No doubt a traumatic moment - one that left notable physical scars but he was willing to do it all over again to save Nemo.
