As for the other, when Marty first arrived in 1955 and crashed in to the barn, the car was indeed covered in a thin layer of frost (which quickly evaporated and melted in to water droplets). Upon his return to 1985, you can clearly see ice on the car. When Doc meets Marty and Jennifer at the end of the film, there is a bit of frost on the front of the car.
