* MeaningfulRename: Originally called Raven, but after joining [=ShadowClan=] has them change his name to Raven Pelt. [[spoiler:Since he's deputy at the time of Shadowstar's final death and she asks him to lead the Clan when she dies, he takes the name Ravenstar shortly after this to symbolize his leadership.]]

* LeaderWannabe: She competes with Mouse Ear to become Shadowstar's deputy after [[spoiler:Sun Shadow is killed. Though she isn't at all disappointed when her mate, Raven Pelt, is chosen instead believing that if it can't be her, she's glad it's him.]]
* MeaningfulRename: Originally called Juniper, but after joining [=ShadowClan=] has them change her name to Juniper Branch.

** He lets One Eye into the group, refuses to believe Mouse Ears when he talks about his poor history with the old rogue, and doesn't recognize that One Eye challenging Clear Sky's authority in front of Tall Shadow is a bad sign. By the time he realizes he does need to throw One Eye from the group, One Eye has badly attacked Sparrow Fur and killed [[AssholeVictim Tom]].

** Clear Sky insists that he wants no cat to starve, but when he holds Jackdaw's Cry prisoner, Clear Sky ''deliberately'' starves him just because he can, even though he promised Thunder that he would feed Jackdaw's Cry. When confronted about this by Thunder, Clear Sky compeltely disregards it and Storm very strangely does not bring it up when Clear Sky insists that his actions were driven by a desire to prevent cats from starving.

** Attacking Nightheart's brother after he was already beaten.

* HappilyMarried: Bright Stream died shortly after they became mates, and his relationship with Storm was rocky even before her death, but he ultimately finds a loving marriage with Star Flower. In ''Shadowstar's Life'', [[spoiler:she's even expecting their second litter]].

* OutlivingOnesOffspring: He fathers eight kits and outlives [[spoiler:''five'']] of them--Bright Stream's litter die with her, two of his kits with Storm die with her, [[spoiler:and his son Tiny Branch is killed by a fox in ''Moth Flight's Vision'']]. In ''Shadowstar's Life'' Star Flower is pregnant with another litter, but nothing more is revealed about these kits.

* SerialRomeo: He has three mates over the course of the arc and fathers a total of eight kits between them.

* BitPartBadguys: She's a minor antagonist who has barely screen-time in ''The Sun Trail''.

* NoNameGiven: His name isn't revealed in ''Thunder Rising'', the only book he's mentioned in, to the point where another unnamed male character seen in the company of River Ripple and Night is assumed to be him (by the reader). Subverted when his name and appearance is revealed in ''Riverstar's Home''.

* DiesWideOpen: His eyes are open when he dies.
