Added DiffLines:

* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter:
** The Link of the [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaI first]] and [[VideoGame/ZeldaIITheAdventureOfLink second]] games was just a mysterious boy who saved Impa, who tasked him with saving Princess Zelda and her ancestor. Despite carrying many tools and weapons in his debut, he stuck with his sword, shield, and magic in the sequel. This Link has a backstory as a descendant of the Hylian Knights who lived with his uncle before the man's tragic death, and he gathers an arsenal of enchanted and non-enchanted weapons to become an even more powerful MagicKnight.
** He is chronologically the successor of the Hero of Time in the Downfall timeline. While the Hero of Time was something of an outlier in the Kokiri Forest, this Link lived with his uncle and is in close contact with Kakariko Village. While the Hero of Time encountered pitfalls with the Master Sword, this Link masters it and can even get it reforged to it's greatest potential. While the Hero of Time failed against Ganon, this Link decisively defeats the Demon King despite his enemy having the entire Triforce.

* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Despite getting him involved in a botched robbery earlier, Ghanti helps Link escape from soldiers trying to arrest him and joins his quest because he insisted on helping her while she was wounded. Despite later declaring him her enemy on the basis of his Hylian Knight heritage -- and having an opportunity to kill him in the Desert of Mystery while he's comatose from scorpion venom -- it's implied that this is the reason that Ghanti first spares him, and later ends up growing feelings for him.
