[[folder:Ronnie Raymond]]
!![[ComicBook/{{Firestorm}} Ronald "Ronnie" Raymond]]
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ronnieraymond.jpg]]
->'''Played By:''' Creator/RobbieAmell

Caitlin's deceased fiancé, and the head engineer for the particle accelerator. He died the night it malfunctioned, giving his life in order to prevent the entire building from being destroyed. It is revealed he is actually alive, but the dark matter wave had merged him with Prof. Martin Stein and had become the host body for the Firestorm Matrix.

Due to the two being's confusion and inability to operate cohesively, the meta-human "the Burning Man" became erratic and dangerous, until [[TheTeam Team Flash]] provided them with a solution to stop fighting their merging and a way to control the Matrix, the two became the hero known as Firestorm, and Ronnie happily reunited with Caitlin, and the two eventually married. In Season Two, Ronnie gives his life to save Central City by closing the Singularity, but Stein survives.
----
* AdaptationalIntelligence: Ronnie's intelligence in the comics is nothing to write home about. He's even BookDumb by his own admission. Here he's the head engineer of the particle accelerator and the one who adjusts it to minimize the damage it would have done.
* AgeLift: Ronnie is traditionally a teenager when he becomes the superhero Firestorm; here, he's roughly in his mid-to-late twenties.
* AlliterativeName: '''R'''onnie '''R'''aymond.
* AndIMustScream: How he describes his initial situation with Stein. Cisco asks him what it's like to have those powers, except Ronnie complains that he'd be enjoying every minute of it, if he were actually ''in control''. Thankfully, their situation is remedied by the end of the two-parter where they return, and while Ronnie is in primary control of the body, Stein communicates to him as a mental voice.
* AndStarring: Was credited as a "Special Guest Star" only in the penultimate episode of Season 1. In the SeasonFinale, he reverts back to the regular guest star lineup. Season 2 permanently restores him to the "Special Guest Star" citation.
* BadassNormal: When cornered by the military, and the Flash got incapacitated by a KryptoniteRing, Ronnie socks Eiling hard enough to topple him and help the Flash into the STAR van.
* CameBackWrong: Seems so at first, though it's eventually revealed it's actually Martin Stein in Ronnie's body.
* CynicismCatalyst: For Caitlin.
* DoNotCallMePaul: Does not like being called Ronald.
* HappilyMarried: Marries Caitlin in the first season finale. It doesn't last long, however, as Ronnie was apparently killed whilst trying to save Central City from the singularity.
* HeroicSacrifice: He went inside the accelerator in order to manually redirect the explosion, and made Cisco close the blast doors in two minutes in case he didn't get back in time. He didn't make it back in time. Happens again in the beginning of Season 2, where he shuts down the wormhole by going into the middle of it as Firestorm and the separating. Professor Stein makes it back, but he does not.
* HotScientist: He's smart enough at engineering to help design the accelerator. He's also ''extremely'' attractive. Not so much immediately after coming back, but HeCleansUpNicely again by "The Nuclear Man".
* IJustWantToBeNormal: Immediately after being separated from Prof. Stein after their initial (and unwilling) FusionDance, he asked Caitlin to move away from Central City with him to have a normal life. Realizing that Eilling will continue to hunt him and Stein (who was eventually captured) down for the F.I.R.S.T.O.R.M matrix ad well as being inspired by Barry, he finally accepted his (and Stein's) condition.
* LegallyDead: Twice. First when he's been missing for over a year. The second happened only a few months after coming back. Both times, [[NeverFoundTheBody his body was never found]], and everyone considers him dead after the second.
* LooksLikeJesus: After he CameBackWrong.
* NeverFoundTheBody:
** A given, since he was vaporized by the particle accelerator explosion. Except he wasn't; TheStinger for "Flash vs. Arrow" reveals that he's still alive, and acquired the abilities of his [[ComicBook/{{Firestorm}} comics counterpart.]]
** And again in "The Man Who Saved Central City", where he apparently was lost when he and Professor Stein de-fused in order to destroy the singularity.
* OppositesAttract: He was warm and jolly, she was cool and logical. They brought out each other's best, and he even referred to the two of them as "fire and ice".
* PosthumousCharacter: Killed in the accelerator explosion. Psych -- he actually survived and has become a metahuman.
* RelatedInTheAdaptation:
** Inverted with [[Series/{{Arrow}} Felicity Smoak]]. In the source material, she's his stepmother. Here, they don't even know each other personally (yet).
** Played straight with Caitlin, whom he marries in the Season 1 Finale. In the comics, they're enemies (though not without FoeRomanticSubtext, especially on the latter's part).
* SecretKeeper: Upon being calmed down shortly before his and Prof. Stein's initial separation, he/they becomes aware of Barry's identity as The Flash.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: He's 5'11.
* TheLostLenore: To Caitlin. Double subverted in that he was revealed to have survived the particle accelerator explosion, but later never made it out of the singularity.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: More than a few jokes are made about his love for pizza.
* TwoFirstNames: Being a Creator/DCComics based character, he has a last name that is traditionally used as a first name.

[[folder:Martin Stein]]
!![[ComicBook/{{Firestorm}} Professor Martin Stein]]
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/martin_stein_4.jpg]]
->'''Played By:''' Victor Garber, Creator/RobbieAmell (while trapped in Ronnie's body pre-mastery of the Firestorm Matrix's powers), Graeme [=McComb=] (young)

The creator of Project F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M., who mysteriously vanished the night the particle accelerator exploded. Prof. Stein had actually been affected by the accelerator's dark matter wave merging with the thought-to-be-deceased Ronnie Raymond and his creation, the Firestorm Matrix, becoming the meta-human known as "the Burning Man," with Prof. Stein's mind taking control of Ronnie Raymond's body.

Their powers greatly endangering both their lives due to the unstable Firestorm Matrix, Stein and Ronnie eventually came to accept each other as partners forming the conjoined hero known as Firestorm. After Ronnie's sacrifice to save Central City from the Singularity, Stein was in danger from the Matrix once more, but was saved by a potential replacement for Ronnie in Jefferson "Jax" Jackson.

Martin Stein, along with "Jax", later became main characters in the upcoming ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow'' joining Rip Hunter's team.
----
* AdaptationalIntelligence: Martin Stein from the comics ''is'' smart without question, but he's mostly only depicted as a nuclear scientist. This version also displays knowledge on TimeTravel and AlternateReality, and it is implied that he knows a lot more.
* {{Adorkable}}: Just watch him excitedly ramble on about time travel and alternate universe. He even nicknames a super villain, much to Cisco's approval.
* AmbiguouslyJewish: Though the Season 1 finale throws off the ambiguous part. He's not just Jewish, he's an ordained rabbi.
* AndStarring: Is credit with "Special Guest Star" citation in his appearances.
* BadassGrandpa: Being the mind behind Firestorm, he's definitely awesome.
* CelebrityParadox: Jax mentions that he has the entire soundtrack of ''Film/{{Titanic 1997}}'', a film where Victor Garber was also a part of.
* ChekhovMIA: He's first introduced having already gone missing, after heading off to confront the person who shut down his work. Whoever it was must have worked at S.T.A.R. Labs, as he was there the night of the explosion and was fused with Ronnie.
* CoolOldGuy: Gives Barry advice about his love life. Later, he gives Eddie a solid pep-talk when Eddie's feeling the effects of Eobard Thawne's BreakingSpeech, denigrating him as the "disappointment" of the Thawne family.
* DeadpanSnarker: Quite a bit, mostly about the crew discussing things quite loudly.
* GoodCounterpart: Appears to be this for Eobard Thawne.
* HappilyMarried: To his wife Clarissa.
* HeroicSacrifice: Attempted in Season 2. He shuts down the wormhole in Season 2 by going into the middle of it as Firestorm and separating. He makes it, however, but Ronnie does not.
* HeroicSuicide: He tries to kill himself in Ronnie's body so it will not go nuclear and kill everyone. Thankfully averted.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: He eventually becomes a part of ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''[='=]s EnsembleCast.
* HippieTeacher: Though we've yet to see him teach a class, he is a professor and he did protest the Vietnam War in college.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: Hits it off pretty fast with most of Team Flash, especially Barry.
* LegallyDead: He was missing for over a year after the Particle Accelerator explosion.
* MadScientist: He was messing around with molecular transmutation, on a project whose name Ronnie gives Caitlin as the only clue for what made him a meta-human. Subverts this in that he realizes the potential for his research to be misused.
* MarriedToTheJob: Before the reactor explosion, he was more interested in his research than his wife, to his regret.
* NerdGlasses: Just like Eobard Thawne.
* NiceGuy: He's really polite to Team Flash.
* NonActionGuy: He's not combat proficient while defused from any of his partners.
* ParentalSubstitute: To Cisco in a way.
* TheProfessor: Literally and figuratively.
* PutOnABus: To ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''.
* SecretKeeper: He learns of The Flash's secret and his escapades during his story arc. He's also the first of Team Flash outside Thawne to know that Cisco has become a Metahuman.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: Why complain about having to walk with a cane when you can wax poetic about the myth of the Sphinx's riddle?
* SurvivorGuilt: ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow'' reveals that he's still hung up on Ronnie not surviving their HeroicSacrifice.
* TeamDad: After Thawne was outed, the S.T.A.R. Labs team was without a lead experienced scientist until he returns for the Season 1 finale. He continues serving in this role in the early part of Season 2 before he leaves to help train Jax as the new Firestorm.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Has learned to love pizza due to being fused with Ronnie for 14 months. He hated it before.

[[folder: David Singh]]
!! Captain David Singh
[[quoteright:339:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/40c61505e4179ad28545471b1bf4a526.png]]
--> '''Played By:''' Patrick Sabongui

TheCaptain of the Central City police precinct and Joe, Eddie and Barry's superior.
----
* AFatherToHisMen: Despite all of his bluster at the end of the day its revealed that Singh genuinely cares for his men, he's still torn up over Detective Chyre's death in the pilot, he willingly jumps in the way of a lightning bolt to save Joe's life and, according to his fiancé genuinely praises Barry's skills.
* BadassBeard: Grows an impressive one in season 2.
* BadassGay: He ''is'' DaChief of the CCPD, after all.
* TheCaptain: Of the CCPD.
* CareerEndingInjury: After TakingTheBullet for Joe, his doctor claims that he may never go back to active service again. Thankfully negated by Barry's TimeTravel.
* DaChief: Repeatedly annoyed by Barry's habitual lateness to crime scenes and Joe's attempts to cover for him.
* DemotedToExtra: In Season Two.
* GoodIsNotNice: He's on the side of the good guys, but he's not exactly the nicest of supervisors.
* HeroicSacrifice: He jumps in the way of an incoming lightning bolt send by Mark Mardon to kill Joe and saves the latter's life. While the bolt doesn't kill him it did do significant internal damage to his body, giving him possible brain damage and possibly crippling him as well - before Barry's time-traveling at the end of the episode prevented the event, that is.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Despite acting like a bit of a {{Jerkass}} throughout the majority of his initial appearances, "Out of Time" reveals that when it gets down to it he genuinely does care about his men. When Mark Mardon appears, and threatens to murder Joe for the death of his brother, Singh tells Joe in no uncertain terms that he will not allow him to die like his partner did. And later when Mardon attacks the police station he [[HeroicSacrifice jumps in the way of a lightning bolt aimed for Joe]]. His fiancée even mentions that he's all bark. Also, unlike a lot of typical 'tough police chief' type characters in a superhero work, Singh is ''incredibly'' supportive of the Flash, is perfectly willing to ask for his help.
* LastNameBasis: He calls everyone by their last name, except Joe.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Although he's exasperated by Barry's perpetual tardiness, he's also aware that he's very good at his job, and when he's in a good mood he openly praises him.
* StraightGay: Revealed to be one in Episode 8. He references his boyfriend in passing. In "Out of Time" it's revealed that he is now Singh's fiancé and we actually get to meet him, and by the end of the season 1, they're married.
* TookALevelInKindness: He mellows down a bit once he becomes engaged.

[[folder: Henry Allen]]
!! Dr. Henry Allen
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/henryallen.jpg]]
->'''Played By:''' Creator/JohnWesleyShipp

Barry Allen's father, a physician who is doing a life sentence in Iron Heights Prison for the murder of Barry's mother Nora.
----
* AlternateUniverseReedRichardsIsAwesome: His Earth-3 counterpart is none other than the ''real'' [[Franchise/TheFlash Jay Garrick]].
* AndStarring: While not given a "Special Guest Star" citation, he gets the "And" billing in the regular guest stars lineup.
* BackFromTheDead: Thanks to Barry going back in time in the Season 2 finale, Henry is saved from being killed by Hunter Zolomon due to the prevention of the events leading up to that moment.
* ButNowIMustGo: When he's finally released from Iron Heights in the first episode of season 2, he decides not to stay in Central City for fear that he'll interfere with Team Flash's work.
* CelebrityParadox: Felicity mockingly calls Lian Yu "Series/FantasyIsland" during the second part of Barry's EarlyBirdCameo on ''Series/{{Arrow}}'' Season 2. Henry's actor guest-starred on that show.
* ClearMyName: Barry is determined to do this for Henry, though Henry would rather he not and just live his own life.
* CoolOldGuy: Barry's father and is one of the most well-meaning and positive characters in the series, if not ''the most''.
* DeadpanSnarker: Has an amusingly droll sense of humor, being content with his current situation.
* ADeathInTheLimelight: He gets a significant amount of screentime and focus in a number of episodes before his death.
* DefiantToTheEnd: It is still unclear if he was doing it intentionally or not, but his final words to Barry before being KilledMidSentence are having a psychological effect on Zoom, implying a last ditched psychological spiting/torturing on Henry's part. [[labelnote:Explanation]]Being a health professional, Henry has definitely studied Psychology and human behavior, and thus, can carefully use words that will likely affect a person with traumatic experiences (in Hunter's case, having an AbusiveParent), something Team Flash likely told him beforehand. He even emphasizes how much of a loving father he is to Barry, and how they had a loving family, unlike Zoom.[[/labelnote]]
* DiesWideOpen: Given the literally fast-paced circumstances regarding his death, he goes out with both a shocked and surprised stare.
* DisappearedDad: In prison since Barry's childhood. Disappears again in Season 2 as soon as he is let out of prison, believing that he'll get in the way of his son's role as the Flash.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: Doesn't panic or let Barry take his place when Zoom kidnaps him, he just tells Barry he's proud of him and that he and his mother loves him before getting killed.
* GoodParents: Even though he's not in Barry's life for obvious reasons, it's quite clear he's a loving and caring father. To the point he doesn't want his son to sacrifice his own life and opportunities in trying to clear his name; he even (initially) told Joe [[ParentsAsPeople to prevent Barry seeing him]] for his son's sake, a questionable action but done out of love.
* HeroesWantRedheads: Nora was one [[IncrediblyLamePun hot]] redhead, God bless her soul.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Zoom kills him via a vibrating hand through the chest.
* IWasQuiteALooker: While he definitely looks good for his age, he was obviously a TallDarkAndHandsome {{Hunk}} in his youth.
* KilledMidSentence: "Mother and I loved-" are his last words before Zoom kills him.
* KillTheCutie: Zoom kills him in the penultimate episode of Season 2.
* TheMedic: Formerly worked as a doctor, though his (former) specialty isn't specified.
* MistakenForMurderer: The very reason why he is locked up, as well as his son's motivation/drive to clear his name.
* NiceGuy: One of the most genuinely good person in the show. And come on, where do you think Barry got his good heart?
* NotHelpingYourCase: He picked up the knife that was used to kill Nora, so he could try to stabilize her heart. Unfortunately, leaving his fingerprints on the murder weapon gave the cops other ideas.
* ThePollyanna: He still retains his positive outlook in life despite being fully aware of how serious and unjust his situation is.
* RemakeCameo: John Wesley Shipp played Barry Allen in the previous ''[[Series/TheFlash1990 Flash]]'' TV series.
* SacrificialLion: Was killed-off to illustrate the distance that Zoom is willing to go just to get what he wants.
* TheScapegoat: He was essentially framed by the Reverse-Flash for the murder of his wife.
* SecretKeeper: Barry reveals the Flash secret to him in "Tricksters", although he began suspecting it much earlier.
* SecretSecretKeeper: He figured out Barry was the Flash after seeing him save Joe and after he broke out a mob henchman (who stabbed him) to be interrogated, but doesn't state it directly. In the Tricksters, he learns for real.
* SixthRanger: Serving as Team Flash's back-up doctor while Caitlin is Zoom's captive. May stick, since he's decided to stay in Central City for good now.
* SoProudOfYou: In ''Crazy For You'' Henry hints that he knows Barry is the Flash, and he's damn proud of the hero his son has become. He repeats this statement before being killed by Zoom.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: In the comics, he died in prison a year or two before his son became the Flash. Here, he lived to be cleared of murder. Though in pre-''Flash: Rebirth'', he lived a long life as well, until he and his wife passed away soon after the Crisis. Sadly, he winds up getting Zoom's hand through his chest at the end of the penultimate episode of Season 2 while Barry was ForcedToWatch.
* StuffedIntoTheFridge: He was explicitly killed by Zoom to cause Barry pain.
* TooGoodForThisSinfulEarth: One of the most genuinely good person in the show, only to be brutally killed-off by the Season 2 BigBad.
* TwoFirstNames: Being a Creator/DCComics based character, he has a last name that is traditionally used as a first name.
* YankTheDogsChain: Just barely a year of being free after serving nearly two decades in prison for a crime he didn't even commit, he gets brutally killed-off.

[[folder: Linda Park]]
!! Linda Park
[[quoteright:340:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lindapark.png]]
->'''Played By:''' Creator/MaleseJow

A sports journalist for Central City Picture News, formerly reporting for KSFZ Channel 8. First seen reporting at S.T.A.R. Labs the night the particle reactor was being turned on, she become acquainted with Barry Allen a year later when he and Caitlin were singing karaoke at a bar. Barry and Linda eventually started going out with each other. Their relationship doesn't last due to Barry's feelings for Iris. In Season Two, Linda learns of Barry's identity as the Flash.

She also has an Earth 2 version who is known as the metahuman Dr. Light.
----
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: Usually, she is introduced during the Wally West era. Here, she debuts way ahead of him.
* AdaptationDistillation: In the comics she's a love interest to Wally West, not Barry. Of course, she probably will be a love interest for Wally.
* AgeLift: In the comics she's of a similar age to Iris's nephew Wally, while in the show she's the same age as Barry and Iris. Not to mention she received one on the show because the original Linda was clearly years older.
* AloofDarkHairedGirl: On a bad day, she can be very blunt.
* AmicableExes: She and Barry get along just fine after their breakup.
* EarlyBirdCameo: She first appears (played by a different actress) in "Three Ghosts" over at ''Series/{{Arrow}}'', reporting as the particle accelerator malfunctioned. This footage of her was reused for the pilot.
* EvilTwin: Her Earth-2 counterpart is the supervillain Dr. Light.
* FeminineWomenCanCook: Inverted, she can cook but is TheLadette.
* HeroKiller: Surprisingly PlayedForLaughs when she has to impersonate her Earth-2 evil counterpart. She ([[BadBadActing unconvincingly]]) "kills" The Flash to lure Zoom out of hiding.
* HotScoop: Enough to get Barry interested at her.
* ItsAllMyFault: When her EvilTwin kills her editor, she is wracked with guilt and wants to help.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Upon realizing Barry's feelings for Iris, she tells him to go for it without any kind of drama.
* TheLadette: During their first date, she and Barry have a contest to see who can handle spicy foods the best. She wins. However, she does cook when she is nervous.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: She doesn't know Barry is the Flash, so it causes some friction when his duties with the Flash interfere with their time together. She learns in Season 2.
* MonsterOfTheWeek: Has to [[ImpersonatingTheEvilTwin pretend to be one]] in [[Recap/TheFlash2014S2E6EnterZoom Enter Zoom]], complete with [[TrainingMontage training montages]] with Team Flash.
* MostDefinitelyNotAVillain: As Dr. Light. She most certainly is a follower of Zoom! Zoom will rise! Then checks to make sure she didn't accidentally kill Barry.
* PromotedToLoveInterest: Played with. She is a Flash LoveInterest, but for Wally West not Barry Allen.
* PutOnABus: With her getting Zoom's attention in the plan to lure him out, she's sent to Coast City to hide out.
* RomanticFalseLead: Unsurprisingly, she was this for Barry.
* SecondLove: Subverted. Barry is mesmerized by her after spending so many years pining for Iris. However, it is revealed that Barry never really got over Iris.
* SecretKeeper: Barry reveals his secret to her, to give her the confidence needed to pretend to be her counterpart.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Linda cooks a lot of food when she is nervous.
* TrickedOutGloves: Cisco makes her gloves to mimic Dr. Light's powers. Though she doesn't get to keep them.

[[quoteright:426:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/92c807931c4a9e7b09d500d5f978a14f.jpg]]
->'''Played By:''' Roger Howarth

A Pulitzer Prize winning journalist at Central City Picture News who is mentoring Iris. He is suspicious of "Wells" and has been investigating him.
----
* BackFromTheDead: Thanks to Barry going back in time in the Season 2 finale, Mason is likely saved from being killed by Eobard Thawne.
* TheCassandra: Subverted. He is correct in that there's something up with "Wells" (and that "Wells" killed Stagg), and the team refuses to believe him. However, his words eventually get to them and they investigate.
* DefrostingIceQueen: Starts out cold to Iris, but warms up to her.
* TheDragAlong: He's not really thrilled on being assigned as Iris' mentor.
* HeKnowsTooMuch: Is killed by Reverse Flash for knowing too much
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Gets impaled by Reverse-Flash's hand.
* IntrepidReporter: He ''is'' a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist for a reason.
* {{Jerkass}}: When he is first introduced, he is very dismissive of Iris.
* JerkassHasAPoint: He's entirely correct about "Wells" hiding something.
* KilledToUpholdTheMasquerade: At the hands of the Reverse-Flash. It backfires because his death clues Barry that "Wells" isn't all what he seems at all.
* MentorOccupationalHazard: His death and disappearance is what finally got Iris to be a full-fledged IntrepidReporter.
* MythologyGag: Has a similar name to a Mason Trollbridge, an ally of Wally West. Whether they are the same character remains to be seen.
* NeverFoundTheBody: Played with. His death is shown on-screen but his corpse is hidden by the Reverse-Flash.
* NotSoStoic: He gets understandably freaked out when the Reverse-Flash pays him a visit.
* SacrificialLion: Just as he starts getting significance in the plot, he ends up on the wrong end of the Reverse Flash - the first notable character to do so and stay dead, unlike [[ResetButton Cisco]]. Also, his death is what finally alarms Barry about "Wells".
* SternTeacher: His lessons and advice for Iris involving their work are very rigid but still profound.
* TheStoic: His default expression is a bored, mildly disgusted one.

-> '''Played by:''' Shantel [=VanSanten=]

A CCPD police officer who is made detective and Joe's new partner in the CCPD Meta-human Taskforce.
----
* ActionGirl: She captures the Earth-1 version of the Sand Demon (who is not a Metahuman, but still a career criminal) with ease after he gets away from Joe.
* {{Adorkable}}: Patty is a science nerd at heart and gets into several dorky conversations with Barry.
* FairCop: A CCPD detective played by the gorgeous Shantel [=VanSanten=].
* FanservicePack: Once she gets promoted, she starts LettingHerHairDown, wearing shirts with plunging necklines, and once a LittleBlackDress during her date with Barry.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: She's blonde, sweet, upbeat and {{Adorkable}}.
* ItsAllMyFault: She blames herself for Weather Wizard killing her dad, because she ditched work forcing him to go to the bank just when the Mardon Brothers were robbing it.
* ItsPersonal: For Mark Mardon, since he killed her dad.
* OldCopYoungCop: Her partner is old enough to be her father, to the point that she even dated his surrogate son.
* PluckyGirl: Despite Joe repeatedly shutting her off to join the Metahuman task force, she continues to try until he lets her in.
* PutOnABus: With her father's killer put away for now and her relationship with Barry on the rocks, she leaves Central City to work on becoming a CSI.
* RankUp: Started as a beat cop at her debut episode, she's promoted to a detective towards the end of the same episode.
* {{Revenge}}: Patty joined the CCPD, so she could join its anti-metahuman task force, to secure her chance to legally kill Mark Mardon, the man who shot her father.
* RevengeBeforeReason: When she does get her chance to kill Mardon he had already been neutralized by the Flash. Had she done so it would not have been in self-defense and she would've lost her her job and gone to prison had Barry not talked it out of her.
* RomanticFalseLead: For Barry, as she can't take his closed off nature and leaves the city.
* SecondEpisodeIntroduction: Was introduced in the second episode of Season 2.
* SecretKeeper: Eventually becomes one for Barry.
* SpottingTheThread: She figures out that Barry is The Flash through her own analysis of past events.
* StatuesqueStunner: She stands 5'8" and very pretty, enough for Barry to [[{{Adorkable}} get tongue tied]] whenever they speak.
* YouKilledMyFather: Her father was killed by the Mardon brothers a few months before the accelerator explosion, and seeing them among the people it gifted with superpowers made her determined to help stop anyone like them.

[[folder: Jesse Wells]]
!! Jesse Chambers Wells
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jessewells.jpg]]
-> '''Played By:''' Violett Beane

The daughter of Harrison Wells from Earth-2. Jesse is a teenage genius having studied five courses at once in college. Zoom keeps her hostage for the first half of Season 2. After she is rescued by Team Flash and her father, she and "Harry" Wells take refugee on Earth-1.
----
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: Usually, she is introduced during the Wally West era. Here, she debuts way ahead of him.
* AdaptationDyeJob: She's blonde in the comics. Here, she has auburn hair.
* AdaptationNameChange: In the comics, her name is Jesse Chambers. WordOfGod [[https://twitter.com/AJKreisberg/status/664248799687110656 confirmed]] that her full name in the show is Jesse Chambers Wells.
* AffectionateNickname: [[InSeriesNickname Her dad calls her]] Jesse Quick because of how smart she is.
* BrokenPedestal: For her father, when she learned he caused the meta-humans. And again when she inadvertently learns that in order to save her from Zoom, he'd killed a man.
* CallingTheOldManOut: Jesse doesn't hesitate to call her father out on his mistakes.
* DamselInDistress: Zoom keeps her hostage. She was eventually rescued by her father and a group of good people ([[EnemyMine sans Killer Frost]]).
* FieryRedhead: She's very opinionated.
* GenderBlenderName: "Jesse" is typically a given name for males, whereas "Jessie" is usually the female spelling.
* GirlinessUpgrade: Inverted. Once she goes to Earth-1, she starts acting and dressing more like a {{Shorttank}}.
* IconicSequelCharacter: Does not appear in the series until Season 2.
* IHaveYourWife: Zoom keeps her hostage as a leverage against her father. She was eventually rescued.
* MissingMom: Her mother is nowhere to be seen, but is then confirmed to have been long dead in "Back to Normal". Whether or not she's also the Earth-2 Tess Morgan remains to be seen.
* MoralityPet: For her father, Harrison Wells.
* TheOjou: She's the daughter of her world's greatest ScienceHero and founder of a top-notch science laboratory.
* PutOnABus: She leaves Central City in "Trajectory" in order to explore Earth-1 and discourage her father from giving into his darker urges. [[TheBusCameBack She returns in "Back To Normal".]]
* RelatedInTheAdaptation: This version of Jesse Quick is the daughter of the S.T.A.R. Labs founder.
* ShipTease: She checks out Wally when at a bar with Team Flash.
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: She has auburn hair and GreenEyes and is Harrison Wells' daughter.
* SilkHidingSteel: At first glance she appears merely as TheCutie, but she has no qualms on [[CallingTheOldManOut calling her father out]] on his mistakes and (at least initially) doesn't falter at Zoom's presence even though the latter is keeping her hostage. This trope practically applies literally too, as she's mostly wearing a [[RetroUniverse 1950s styled]] silk dress.
* SixthRanger: She joins Team Flash after being rescued from Zoom's prison.
* SkewedPriorities: She didn't want to leave Earth-2 despite the fact that she had just been rescued from an AxCrazy speedster who is now on her and her father's trail. Harry calls her out on it.
* TheSmartGirl: Easily the smartest member of Team Flash, which is TheSmartGuy team of the Franchise/{{Arrowverse}}. She's even smarter than her father.
* TagalongKid: The youngest member of Team Flash to date.
* TearsOfFear: Whatever Zoom did to her, the moment she's briefly reunited with her father, she breaks down to the point of tears, begging not to go back.
* TeenGenius: Expected, given who her father is. She graduated high school at age of 15, and is currently a college student. [[UpToEleven With five majors]].

[[folder:Ronnie Raymond]]
!![[ComicBook/{{Firestorm}} Ronald "Ronnie" Raymond]]
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ronnieraymond.jpg]]
->'''Played By:''' Creator/RobbieAmell

* AlliterativeName: '''R'''onnie '''R'''aymond.
* CynicismCatalyst: For Caitlin.
* LooksLikeJesus: After he CameBackWrong.
* NeverFoundTheBody:
* RelatedInTheAdaptation:
* TallDarkAndHandsome: He's 5'11.

* TheProfessor: Literally and figuratively.
* PutOnABus: To ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''.

--> '''Played By:''' Patrick Sabongui

* TheCaptain: Of the CCPD.
* DemotedToExtra: In Season Two.

->'''Played By:''' Creator/JohnWesleyShipp

->'''Played By:''' Creator/MaleseJow

->'''Played By:''' Roger Howarth

* BackFromTheDead: Thanks to Barry going back in time in the Season 2 finale, Henry is saved from being killed by Hunter Zolomon due to the prevention of the events leading up to that moment.

* DefiantToTheEnd: It is still unclear if he was doing it intentionally or not, but his final words to Barry before being KilledMidSentence are having a psychological effect on Zoom, implying a last ditched psychological spiting/torturing on Henry's part. [[labelnote:Explanation]]Being a health professional, Henry has definitely studied Psychology and human behavior, and thus, can carefully use words that will likely affect a person who has an AbusiveParent, especially since Team Flash likely told him about Zoom's DarkAndTroubledPast. He even emphasizes how much of a loving father he is to Barry, and how they had a loving family unlike Zoom.[[/labelnote]]

* MentorOccupationalHazard: His death and disappearance is what finally got Iris to be a full-fledged IntrepidReporter.

* NeverFoundTheBody: Played with. His death is shown on-screen but his corpse is hidden by the Reverse-Flash.

* SternTeacher: His lessons and advice for Iris involving their work are very rigid but still profound.

* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: Usually, she is introduced during the Wally West era. Here, she debuts way ahead of him.
